Wanna know why the Canadian economy is doing fine right now? Look at all the protectionist laws they have about employment. People from elsewhere can't just go to Canada and get a job easily. In fact, if there is a Canadian who is qualified to do the job companies are required to give it to that person instead of an alien even if the alien is cheaper or more experienced. My former company opened several stores and a warehouse in Canada while I was still with them. It was a constant battle to get to bring even management level people to Canada to run our stores even though our success depended on brand recognition and consistence of service with what is provided in the states.
This does not surprise me. If things are getting tough there economically, Canada has a long history of protecting their workers by excluding aliens.

I agree with 3Legged. It certainly sounds to me like she was offering OTC. Sounds like she had already worked the crowd and determined there was not much cash in the room or she was not what most of them were looking for that night. The "not feeling it" comment has happened to us a couple of times. Both times, after a bit more conversation, it became clear that OTC was on the table for the right price.

In the Chicago area there are no "entry" fees for any of the dance areas. The cost quoted includes the cost of using the room and the dancer's fee. Any tipping is on top of that. Some dancers will tell you that you also have to tip the bouncers at some clubs (which usually pisses them off because it means the dancer usually gets less).

We would be thrilled with pricing like any that have been discussed. In Chicago area VIP means only a special seating area where the most dancers go first (but that is even not consistently the case as it depends on the dancer and where they want to go) and is usually a $20-30 fee paid directly to the bouncer. VIP ROOMS (champagne etc) usually start from $200 in the way outer areas (think Bloomington/Normal area) to $300 (Club O) to even higher at 390. Those are 30 min prices and do not include dancer or bouncer tips. Add all that up and now you know why we have not done more champagne room visits in Chicago.

Companies have long since been able to tell employees what to wear. It is the job of parents to teach their children (male and female) that not all people can wear the same sort of clothing with the same level of modesty. Apparently this either did not happen or this woman chose to wear "the same thing as other employees" even if it did not fit her body type or look professional. If the company felt her attire was too revealing for her body type (something I have to watch very carefully unless I am clubbing with my husband or going out in the evening) then she should have been quietly taken aside and then sent home to change. The bathrobe was humiliating and totally unnecessary. If it happened again she should have been warned or given a written notice. Honestly, this company, while within their rights to determine what she was to wear to work, is simply stupid. I assume they DID know how busty she was when they hired her. Since their instructions were to wear what everyone else was wearing and it seems (at least from the media report we have now) that she did that they just cost themselves a whole lot of $$.

GMD, that was our impression too when I researched it. We sent my in-laws there for their 50th wedding anniversary. I had originally booked them on the CA side but my mother-in-law insisted on staying in the US so I switched them to the Red Coach Inn and they ended up loving it. Maybe we will try to do that for our anniversary in August.
Considering the cruise thing but now that alcohol is not included in the pricing any longer not sure about it. We are not people who are much into "organized" group things. LOL

Thanks for the info on the DR. The Spanish was one thing we were concerned about. We can do French, German, Hebrew and Latin but not a lot of Spanish. LOL Can you suggest an area for us to look into? We like the historical aspect of Santo Domingo but there really don't seem to be any beach areas there. I will admit we are a bit of a snob when it comes to hotels: we like high thread count sheets, good mattresses and working A/C with easy access to great food. That is part of why we love NOLA - just walk out the door of your hotel or apt and any time of day there are great eats and decent drinks.
Niagara Falls in the winter I am not so sure about. LOL Nor do I think I would want to be there for two weeks even in the summer. It's a bit far for a weekend jaunt but maybe if we have a four or five day weekend sometime....

I might add it is not only with the dancers that one gets away with more. We have also had that extend to the bouncers who give us the best table with no expectation of a tip (or at least less of one) and once been asked to "try a new beverage offering" on the house. It's really nice when they start to carry your favorite dark beer.

We just got back from Mexico in March so I am not sure if we will head to that area again yet. Thought about Jamaica but mrs m00t has been there and did not care for it. (rude people who pretty much just wanted tourists to get off the plane, leave their wallets and then get back on the plane to go home) and you really can't leave the resort areas easily and safely there. Considering the DR. Anyone been there?

For us it depends on what else is going on. If we are planning or thinking of planning a trip somewhere, we are on a lot. We rarely book a trip without checking out what our options are because it drives how we choose to allocate our funds. If there are no decent club options close to where we are thinking of going we will spend more on a great hotel since we will be in the room more. Or, in some cases, we have changed plans and simply gone somewhere with a different type atmosphere or accessible clubs. Closer to home we check frequently to see if anyone has had a good experience at a club closer than our usual ones.

As someone married to one of those "nerds" it is very simple for me to understand. And I bet mr m00t would echo this. He is surrounded by very shallow people who always want something from him - praise for their idea, to pick his brain, funding for an idea, to know what his next project is......etc. Maybe she just "let's him BE" and likes doing things with him. And, for those who have not experienced it, (which from the posts must be almost everyone on here but Alucard, there is NOTHING as hot as great sex with an intellectually stimulating partner. After all, the brain is the biggest and strongest sex organ we have.

Juice, I am ashamed of you! You know that one does not burn in hell for things that we DO but for what we believe or refuse to believe. For it is through grace we are saved. Grace and grace alone. A true called worker is held accountable for what he says that misconstrues and misleads but what he says is not this man's biggest issue - it is what he apparently believes. Uh, ya all are gettin ripped off on your cell phone bills. I have unlimited text, data and 500 min per month in calls for $40 a month and that is 4G service where available 3G where it is not.
If you are not hiding anything a paper trail is no big deal. However, I would be very leery about paying with anything that gave her much info on you at all. Checks have name, address and phone on them. They also have your bank account and routing number which can, and has, been used to set up auto payments on other things. Also, if you agree to paying the "phone bill" what happens if she racks up overage charges? Does she expect you to pay those too since they are part of the "phone bill?" Same if her rent goes up .... I would set a dollar amount and simply say, "Here is the amount we agreed on. I will teach you to manage your money if you want but you need to do this yourself. What you pay with it is up to you."
What I wanna know is, if you have a significant other why you need sex with this woman twice a week? Get yourself a new SO!
