TUSCL’s #1 Soothsayer!
Stock market investors thinking Powell will pivot and quit raising interest rates because inflation is going to decrease soon are engaged in wishful thinking. Volcker had to raise interest rates above the inflation rate to kill inflation. We are a long way away from that now.

"It's times like these that I question why I spend time here at all, and honestly I'm spending less and less these days."
Maybe if you weren't laughing at people you think are too dumb to get that you are joking you would come across a little better. That's a bit condescending.
When I want someone to laugh at my jokes, I go to a strip club. The strippers always laugh at my jokes as long as I'm buying lap dances. In a strip club I'm the funniest man on the planet.

I think this particular free stuff giveaway won't have much effect on strip clubs but if you add up all the free stuff giveaways the politicians are coming up with the cost will end up collapsing the economy. When the economy collapses the strip club industry will collapse too.
My father told me once that when he was a child during the Great Depression people would knock on the door of his house and ask for food. My grandmother was a kind woman and would fix them a sandwich. I'm afraid we will have people going hungry again in the near future. People won't have money to buy lap dances, so I worry about my stripper regulars a little bit. I hope they do ok.

Anywhere there are Titties.
With a female next-door neighbor in my early twenties. She invited me to come over and watch television with her and we ended up having sex. She looked a little unhappy afterwards. I asked her if she wanted to go out to dinner with me sometime and she got a big smile on her face. I think they often like it if you call the next day or show some interest in seeing them again.

I'll sit through one stage rotation. There might be a cute girl hiding out back in the dressing room who will come out when it is her turn to go on stage.

"My guess is those that spend a lot of time trying to figure this out have too much time and too little money, I'm a little puzzled that I have to explain that to you."
Where did I say I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out? I figured it out after a few seconds thought. If I were you, I wouldn't make any plans to try and make a living as a stand-up comedian.

I'm aware the original poster was trying to make a joke, but I wanted to discuss this. No one had brought it up as a serious subject, so I went ahead and discussed it here. I'm a little puzzled why I have to explain this to the original poster. This didn't occur to you as a possibility on your own?

I thought they were funny. Women tend not to find them funny. My sister teaches middle school. She told me she doesn't really like boys that age because they act like the Three Stooges.

"The more likely way it would impact strip club economics would be a spike in demand."
It will almost certainly decrease demand. Some young and old guys with canceled debt will be better off but young and old guys with no debt will be worse off. Two thirds of student debt is held by females so the overall effect of canceling debt will be a shifting of wealth from men to women. Strip club demand would increase if women used the increase in wealth to go to strip clubs, but most strip club visitors are men and men as a group will have less wealth after this.
Whether stripper females benefit from this depends on whether they are more likely to hold student debt than non-stripper females. I'm just guessing, based on my interactions with strippers, but I think strippers are less likely to go to college than the average female. So, this will end up hurting strippers. Their male customers will have less money to spend, and that money will have gone more to non-stripper females rather than to them.

I live in Indianapolis. Extras are not common so guys who like them and live in places where they are common will probably be disappointed. Brad's in Indianapolis is still the best club. It has dropped in quality but so have all the other Indianapolis clubs. A recent surge in crime is driving the middle class out of the city. As they leave, less money is spent in the local clubs. This makes it harder to attract top talent.
The three Pendleton Pike clubs have been hit the worst which makes me unhappy since I live near them. Brad's and Dancers have declined but not as much. Lately I have found pretty strippers at the Pony on the west side. However, if you like extras the nearby Club Rio has more of a reputation as an extras club. The Red Garter downtown is not too bad. The best club in the central Indiana area outside Indianapolis is the Hip Hugger in Kokomo. All the other clubs in Indianapolis and the surrounding area are pretty much a waste of time to visit.

I considered myself to be old when the majority of people I knew as a child were no longer here. When my grandparents, parents, friends of my parents and aunts and uncles were all gone then I felt old. Just my same age childhood friends are left. One of my childhood friends just passed away and it made me unhappy because I know the rest will now follow, one after another.

I have found you can't judge a strip club by its outward appearance, and you also can't judge it by its name. The closest club to me used to be called "Harem House". Instead of looking like harem girls the strippers looked awful. The locals soon gave it the nickname "Scare 'Em House".

They never tell you what you need to know.
It is largely the rich who benefit under the current government. They are the ones who can donate lots of money to corrupt politicians and can get special favors in return. The inflationary policies of the Fed boost stock prices and, since the top ten percent of rich people own ninety percent of all stock, they get richer. Inflation also raises house values and rich people have more money invested in housing, so they also get richer due to that. Working class people who don't own stock and rent instead of owning a house get worse off because the inflation raises the prices they have to pay. There has been increasing income inequality in this country since the Fed started its inflationary policies. This increased income inequality is not due to an increasingly free market economy. It's due to Federal Reserve intervention in the economy.

I think spending money on a girl without expecting much in return can cause her to lose respect for you. When I was younger and dumber, I regularly took a pretty girl in my office who I was friends with out to lunch. After a while she started to seem less friendly and acted like she was doing me a favor sitting across the table in a restaurant with me. I stopped doing that and since then there have been no free meals for women.
If you spend too much money on strippers while expecting little in return, as many strip club customers tend to do, strippers will see you as a loser who can't get women without throwing lots of money at them. Females are not sexually attracted to men they see as losers. I never offer stripper regulars lots of money to see them outside the club and when they realize I'm not interested then they suddenly seem more eager to see me outside the club. Women are strange creatures. They throw themselves at guys who don't care about them while snubbing guys who want them.

"I think we can debate the student loan giveaway program somewhere else.... this thread is supposed to be about what will the program do to the cost of pussy. I think it will drive the cost up lol"
The cost of pussy is not just based on the student debt cancellation program possibly decreasing supply. Price is based on both supply and demand. That's Econ 101. The cost of pussy also depends on the overall health of the economy and the ability of men to pay for pussy. Poor economy, less money. Less money, less demand. So, it is appropriate to discuss the overall effect of the student debt cancellation rather than just narrowly focusing on whether strippers not needing to pay student loans will lead them to be less likely to do extras.

People often say an individual spending program is not a large amount of money compared to total government spending. If you let them all go through on that basis, though, added together they cost a lot. Senator Everett Dirksen once supposedly said "a billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking real money". He may or may not have actually said it, but it was such a good quip it has been repeated many times.

The three hundred-billion-dollar cost for this is just part of the overspending by the government. Like the rest of the overspending, the government will probably just print the money up to pay for it and that will lead to more inflation and rising prices.
As prices continue to rise, guys will spend more and more of their income just on necessities. Strippers will then be struggling because, for most men, lap dances are a luxury and they will stop showing up at strip clubs. It's really only a free-market economy that generates enough excess wealth that luxuries like strip clubs can be afforded by large numbers of men. An intelligent stripper would not be voting for socialists who pass out free stuff to everyone because her career success depends on a healthy economy and men having lots of extra money to spend.

BigThirdEye, asking someone why they prefer lap dances over sex with strippers is a little like asking why they like chocolate ice cream more than vanilla ice cream. Different people like different things. Not everyone is the same.
I don't see buying or selling sex as immoral because it is a voluntary transaction between two consenting adults. I reserve the word "immoral" for those who use force or fraud to get what they want. When I was young I was married. I liked having sex with my wife but she was pretty demanding and I finally decided it wasn't worth meeting her demands in exchange for sex so I left. Ever since then I have often felt that women expect too much in exchange for sex. In the case of strippers, I always think they want too much money for sex. Most of them also want too much money for lap dances but in that case I have found a few who are worth it. Sex is more fun than lap dances but the price is just too high, at least for me.
One thing you should realize is when strippers get angry that you want to buy sex it is not always a case they are angry at being treated like a prostitute. When you do that, you are showing you are not interested in buying what they are selling. They want to sell you lap dances but you don't think their lap dances are worth it. This is a form of rejection, so they get angry. Some strippers like to portray the typical situation in a strip club as men getting angry at girls because they won't do what they want but it is just as common for the girls to get angry at the guys because they won't do what they want.

Women will have different definitions of being treated like hookers. Some women might accept expensive gifts and then have sex with the guy who gave them the expensive gifts and not see that as prostitution. Some women will consider certain things as acceptable, e.g. letting a stranger grope them for money, while other women would get outraged if you were to offer money for that. Women in strips clubs usually allow some touching but how much varies. One night I had a stripper get angry at me when I touched her breasts during the lap dance. The next girl I did a lap dance with I avoided breast touching and halfway through the lap dance she grabbed my wrists and put my hands on her breasts.
I never ask for sex from a stripper. Usually, they like that but I've had some regulars who seemed a little annoyed or frustrated they can't make more money off me by getting me to do extras either inside or outside the club. So, you can have strippers get annoyed at you for asking for extras and you can have strippers get annoyed at you if you don't ask for extras. I think the rule that strip club customers should follow is that it is ok to offer money for something but not ok to get angry if your offer is turned down. The rule strippers should follow is that it is ok to offer lap dances or extras but not ok to get angry if turned down.

"Yep, I am venting at somebody else’s venting. And if I remember that individual poster’s discussion history correctly, then he comes in the club and drops $100 biweekly anyways. But thinks dancers should pay attention to him for being an old white guy over a 20something."
You quoted me so I assume you are referring to me here. Anyone who wants to can click on my name, look at my comments, and see I don't think strippers should pay attention to me just because I'm old. They should pay attention to me if they want my money, but they are free to ignore me if they want.
In the last discussion I posted here, I mentioned I let a stripper keep her robe on during our lap dance because she was cold. Look it up. Does this sound like a demanding old man? My current favorite recently told me she always has a feeling of relief when I walk in the door because I never cause her any trouble. Many commenters here would consider me a "chump" because I spend money and only expect lap dances. I club in a city in which strippers often get fired for doing in the club extras and I like strippers and don't want to see them get fired so I don't ask for that.
In my last comment you quoted from, I expressed sympathy for young people and the country they are inheriting. I have not seen you show any sympathy at all for people who are forced to pay for the college degrees of others. I'm totally used to that sort of thing. People who support themselves instead of expecting others to support them never get any sympathy or appreciation. Unfortunately, every year there are fewer people who are self-supporting. This is leading us into an economic crisis. The only future choices we have now are whether we have runaway inflation or have something like the Great Depression but worse.

"Therefore, it’s completely logical for most of the posters on this thread to be furious at this recent decision. They want young women motivated to keep flooding the strip clubs, sugar sites, etc (and it’s young females who carry more of that burden)."
It's also completely logical for pretty young females to not want to spend their time with boring old men and to want to spend it with charming young good-looking guys. I understand that.
If they do that, though, they should not expect the men they shun to pay for their college with their taxes. The reason it is being discussed right now is because it's in the news right now. Complaining about other people doing things they shouldn't when this comes up is like a child saying "the other kids do it too" when her mom catches her doing something she shouldn't. I'm all for eliminating any type of subsidy. Our current level of government spending is unsustainable. The money printing to pay for excessive spending will lead into hyper-inflation and we will turn into Zimbabwe or Venezuela. The Republicans are partly to blame. Trump added seven trillion dollars to the national debt in four years. Us Boomers are partly to blame too. We should have accepted raising the retirement age to lessen the burden of young people paying for our Social Security. I'm 66 and still working so at least young folks don't have to pay for my retirement benefits yet. I have sympathy for the younger generation. We ran up the thirty trillion-dollar national debt and are leaving it to them to pay off.
