Like the OP, I found out about extras from TUSCL. More specifically, from clowns that definitively stated that the pursuit of extras was the only reason to enjoy clubbing.

@Bj99: "He did not tell her up front that he’s not attracted to her, and might let her sit and chat for as long as she will."
The OP said "refuses to interact with you". If that's not a clear signal to her that he's not attracted, and she still sits there and runs her mouth, that's her stupidity, not his rudeness.

I don't care what side of the political aisle you're on. Baio has proven himself to be a dick, so Eggert is very believable.

My ATATF was also a porn actress. Not sure if you'd define her as a "star", but she had also been in Playboy and Penthouse, so not a D-level skank, either.
And to be clear, she'd be the answer to the question.

Elvis' "In the Ghetto" was played during the 3rd of a 3-song couch dance. I was too ... er um ... into the moment to realize it until afterwards.

Solo PL
My fave (who was 22 years younger than I) invited me to a party where I would either be the only guy or at least in the vast minority (I don't remember which now). Work got in the way, though. :(

WOW! There's some major snowflake action going on in some of these responses.
The dancer's purpose in being at the club is not to enhance the relationship between the two of you; it is to make money to pay the light bill. Now, many can pull off both -- but, damn, it ain't about your entitled ass, no matter how much time and money you've "invested". Even at my PL-est, I wasn't *that* much of a PL.
Yeah, it would have been nice/polite for the "stolen" girl in the OP to come back and explain the circumstances, but it's not like he wasn't able to figure them out. Plus, it all came out fine in the end.
Some of my best "finds" were because a fave was tied up. And in the absolute best cases, it was because the fave knew she was going to be tied up and sent the "find" my way.

-->"Refuses to interact with you during your approach and greeting. Is not interested in your offer to come back with a friend. This guy has no money & came in to fill up space."
This is the stripper equivalent of a guy getting shot down by a girl and concluding that she must be a lesbian.
Though, frankly, I just wish more strippers would read this, even if they did come to the wrong conclusion about me. Most seem to have no clue when their presence is not wanted.

I've never asked for one. I have asked a dancer what nights she ordinarily works, and if she doesn't have a routine schedule, she gives me her number about 75% of the time so that I can message her and ask if she's dancing that night.

10. Don't ask a dancer, "Do you go out with customers?"
Why the hell would I ask a generic question like that? I couldn't care less if she goes out with you -- only if she'll go out with me.

Carson was, and always will be king. His philosophy was to let the guest be funny (if capable), because the next morning, the conversation would be "Did you see Carson last night?" regardless of who provided the laughs.

* I only made it rain twice -- 20-25 singles each time on the same night. It was solely to piss off the club ROB who was bitter rivals with my fave.
* Had one fave that didn't do VIP. One night, it was kinda late and she was the only dancer in the club that I had any interest in. So when she went on stage, I was tipping 5's and 10's -- probably about $40 over the whole set.
* Walked into my ATF's club and there she was on stage. I walked over and she told me it was the last song of the set, and that she'd be right with me. I wanted to tip, but had nothing smaller than a $20 on me. So I slipped a Jackson in her garter. She looked at me like, "WTF?" I just rolled my eyes and said "c'mon, you were gonna have it eventually anyway."

Not making up anything. Read your own quote: "***NOW*** our kids can look up to ..."
There is no possible way to interpret it that doesn't imply (nay, state) that there was no one to look up to before that day. Even if one limits one's creaming to Obama, she stated that he wasn't worthy of admiration when he was a senator.
While I appreciate that long list that pensionking cited, we can limit things to the world of politics and still reveal how ridiculous her statement is. When they were in their respective offices, Condoleeza Rice and Colin Powell were often in the news more than the POTUS under which they served. But apparently, they aren't worth shit in this mother's eyes.
Or -- and this is really fucking radical -- raise your kids to admire deeds and not random luck-of-the-draw shit that you have no control over, like pigmentation.

mikeya02: You guys know what she meant.
Yeah, she meant, "I'm doing a piss poor job as a mother." Are you really gonna tell me that a young male (of any ethnicity) is going to solely idolize entertainers/athletes, but make a single, special exception for POTUS?
For that matter, it also sounds to me like SHE doesn't even see value in non-entertainers/athletes, except for one solitary job.

How is the single black mother's statement not perpetuating a false stereotype that all prominent black people are athletes or rappers? If a person of any other pigmentation had said that, there would be screams of "racism".

In the end, the only two people whose opinions matter are you and hubby. If you're enjoying it and it falls within the well-articulated limits that hubby cited, go for it. I appreciate the fact that you sought further info, but take any response very lightly. No one can tell someone else how to enjoy a club -- that's just silly -- and that's why you're there; not for any of us goofballs..
Also, to those who base their opinion on whether or not they find you attractive, I'd ask if they find every last dancer attractive. Improbable. Yet no one is holding a gun to their head and making them watch. They can go to the bar and order a drink, seek out another dancer for a LD or VIP, or go take a leak (or a leap, for that matter).
As for me, I'd welcome it for a number of reasons:
1) Seconding what JamesSD said, I like to "see people have a good time". Here in Georgia, it's illegal to dance (in any manner) at a SC unless employed by them. I've seen customers shutdown because they were ballroom dancing.
2) A ramification of that law is that there are no amateur nights in Georgia. I've always thought that was a pity, particularly as the heroin-chic dancers get less and less appealing.
3) I always like to see a little girl-on-girl action.
