Will there always be a 'fav' ?
Having a fave has actually been pretty rare for me, most of the time I haven't had one. And I've never gone looking for one, every once in a while they just happen. For me that's when clubbing is the most fun. And the most expensive, so I'll probably never have another one.

What is a Regular?
The answers are going to vary widely, even from the same person. I used to try to visit my favorite club once a week when my ATF worked there, which is the most often I've ever gone clubbing. And I probably spent $100-200 each visit. But that was 10 years ago when I was working and traveling all the time. Now that I'm retired I don't get a chance to visit clubs very often - it's been 2 years since my last club visit.

Any place that interests me.
Your Favorite Seats
I always sit at the bar until I get a feel for the place. Later if I decide I'd like some company, I'll then sometimes move to a table that's some distance from the stage. I never near the stage. You keep getting hit for tips at the stage and it's annoying. Plus most girls look better from a distance anyway.

Bones, you say "Our prisons are so over-crowded as it is with more serious felons for more severe crimes." That isn't true, our prisons are overcrowded primarily because of the large numbers of drug offenders who are locked up, many of whom have committed no serious crimes unless you think possession of minor amounts of drugs is a serious crime. If we had more sane drug laws we could in fact put the serious criminals in jail for longer.

I think there's another influence at work here too, in additon to what I said above. Probably the adults closest to some of these girls have never had a real job and denigrate people who do. So the message the girls have gotten all their lives is that only losers work for a living, that the smart people figure out a way to scam those losers. I try never to tip the girls with that kind of attitude, my attitude is that the sooner we can convince them to quit the stripping business the better. What's interesting is that some clubs seem to be full of such girls while in other clubs you rarely see them. I wonder what the difference is, who makes them feel welcome some places but not others - management, customers, other dancers?

I think a lot of girls go into dancing because they're lazy and think it's an easy way to make big bucks, they've probably been told that by some friends. They think all they have to do is get naked and the money rolls in. When that doesn't happen they blame the customers rather than their own attitude. Which of course makes the money worse for them. They're in the wrong business. Or more accurately they aren't going to be successful anywhere with that kind of attitude.

The question of whether or not he might steal again is irrelevant. Incarceration isn't just to punish the micreant or to protect society from a possible repeat, it's to discourage other people from doing the same thing. The more severe the sentence, the stronger the message.

Crunch time. Oct 26 meet up.
Shadowcat is definately real and I've seen a picture - dark grey with black stripes and white paws and underbelly. It's his human employee that we have to worry about. And Shadowcat, you know my situation, I'll be there if I can but it's out of my control. I think we'd all like to be there but I don't think you're likely to get many firm committments, it's probably hard (no pun intended) for many of us to make such a committment that far in advance. I'd just tell your lady friends that you've invited a bunch of old geezers (or is that redundant?) and you're hoping that maybe half a dozen or so will show up. And tell them we're all retired on fixed incomes and will need senior citizen discounts. Feel free (again no pun intended) to assign me to the cute young girl who doesn't do extras. I'll keep her entertained so she doesn't get in the way of the rest of you horny bastards.

Ever had a stripper act like your dumb for travelling so far??
I don't think I've ever taken a long trip or driven very far out of my way just to visit a strip club. An hour is about my limit. And as others have noted, a lot of dancers do more than that to get to work.

An awful lot of slang terms have somewhat different meanings depending on how old you are. This may be one of them.

Strip Club Patrons' Nicknames
I too prefer to be called by my name. Although once I was in a bar shooting pool with my ATF and a couple young guys started hitting on her - they asked her if I was her father and she said, no he's my sugar daddy. I kinda liked that.

What Types of Clubs Do You Prefer?
Funny how most of us here seem to dislike the gentlemen's clubs, even if we don't totally agree what that term means. Does that suggest that GCs are trying to appeal to a different group of customer than most of us here? I believe it does. The GC I'm most familiar seems to target two customer groups: upscale businessmen and bachelor parties (they do a HUGE business in bachelor parties.) I don't belong in either of those categories. Maybe that's why I don't much like the place.

Chandler, I've heard the term "spinner" used for many years but freely admit that I don't know what it means. But then it seems like no one else here does either since there's a lot of disagreement. From which I conclude that it must be a pretty vague term, that there is no generally-accepted definition.

I don't think I have rules re tipping in strip clubs, I tip when I feel like it and don't when I don't. In general I'm probably more likely to tip when I expect to see the girl again, and I probably am more likely to tip in an upscale club where I figure it's expected or if I'm having an especially good time. Other than that I'm probably pretty unpredictable.

I'm reminded of a girl I interviewed for a job once a long time ago. This girl had just graduated from college and was drop-dead gorgeous - long blonde hair, great tan, pretty face, pretty smile, body to die for. And had no personality, trying to get her to talk was like pulling teeth. She was pleasant enough but didn't say a word other than to give 2 or 3 word answers to a question. Like I asked her what she like to do in her spare time, answer - "Go to the beach." When the interview was over my secretary asked me what I thought of her. To which I replied, "I have no interest in hiring her but she'd make a great wife."

Or maybe it's more a question of attitude - both are tiny but a spinner has a positive attitude while a waif has a negative one. The spinner is happy, the waif is sad. The spinner is bubbly and energetic, the waif acts like she's on death's doorstep. But I'm just guessing, I have no idea what these terms mean, they both seem pretty vague to me.

Bones, in any case I have ever read about where a large amount of money was embezzled by an insider like this one, the person did it a little bit at a time over an extended period. He didn't just steal once, he kept stealing again and again, which is how they usually get caught. I assumed that this case was similar. I feel really sorry for this guy, but I also think this kind of thing happens way too often and we need to get tougher with the people who do it.

Definately a waif, but a spinner too, as I understand the term. Seems to me that all short waifs (or are waifs always short?) are sinners, but not all spinners are waifs? Or maybe they mean the same thing?

Bones, how can say it's his first feloney? Sounds to me like he embezzled regularly over a long period of time, so he's probably committed dozens or even hundreds of felonies, it's just that he only got caught once, and that's when he suddenly felt remorse. Seems to me he's no different from a drug addict who keeps breaking into homes and stealing things to support his habit until he's finally caught. Would you feel equal sympathy for him?

What's your top 5 favorite clubs of all time?
Nj_pete, that's what I assumed. I've always found the girls at Erotic Cafe to be much more attractive (maybe I was just lucky) and the mileage there was as much as I've ever wanted. Plus it's cheaper. Way too much hustle from unattractive women at Playhouse Lounge for me.

Suffering from Pervertism...
Let's face it guys (and girls) - strip clubs are for perverts. If we weren't perverts we wouldn't go there. Wear the label proudly, and someday you too can be a dirty old man. But it's funny how the meaning of "pervert" has changed over the years. It used to apply only to those whose tastes were then considered to be abnormal, now it applies to everyone. It's become an equal-opportunity term. Aren't we lucky to be living in such an enlightened age?

Harrydave, a club I used to go to once in a while (Baltimore's Gentlemen's Gold Club) has an annual Miss Nude Baltimore contest - it lasts 3 days and first prize is $5,000 - which draws dancers from all over the area. That's my idea of a beauty contest. The girl I used to hang with won it, which didn't surprise me at all.
