It depends on the club. One I visit I sit right by the stage at a table, but at the end away from the stage. If a dancer is dencent I move right up to the stage and prepare to tip. If she has some sexy moves I might consider getting a dance from her. If she's lame on stage then for get it. Another place I would sit at a table near the stage using the same process. If she can't get naughty on stage the VIP will be lame.
If it's a new club I'll sit in the back and check things out and then hit the stage to tip if the right girl shows up.

It's not the age that matters as to when she should give it up, it's the attitude.
Mature dancers know why you are there and don't play games. The younger ones laugh at them, but they know the mature girl earns her money.

It does depend on the dancers skills, but in the end it gets old. Better to go get what you really want.

Why would you date a dancer? what are you hoping to get out of it? Will she give you what you want?
Let me replace the word "date" with "hang-out". I've asked dancers to hang-out with me, get some food, go to a concert, take their kid to Chuckie Cheese. Always a good time and everyone was happy. This was truly done as a friendly gesture and not wanting any more than that.
There was one dancer who said while we were have a discussion that she'd go on dates with customers if they paid her for her time. I told her I would never do that as I figure that if I'm with some one it's as a friend and we are enjoying each others company. She was honest and I appreciated that, but I'd never ask her out.
I never go hunting for dancers to date. It just becomes a natural next step if I get really close to someone that we are going to be hanging-out outside the club.

Some do, yes. But there may be another way to look at it. Spending more money means more time together and that can lead to two people getting closer. And thus we can move to more affection given.
An example:
I know a dancer that all we do is sit together. I get no dances, but give her some money for her time. I'm not talking big dollars here. Because we spent so much time together, sometimes once a week, and did a lot of talking we became very close. She is very affectionate toward me and me to her likewise. Most of this is chemistry, but some of this is about being comfortable with each other.
I've had quite a few people ask me how come I can get so close to dancers. Chemistry and comfort level. I've known some other dancers and we ok together, but some I connect with more than others

Johnny, yes it could be either of those.
To answer the original Q, that dancer and I would have never connected anyway. Let's say I thought something was there, a "friend" thing. I'd ask her after seeing her 3 times and feeling a vibe. Then I get the above response. It would mean my radar was off. I've never been flat out rejected. One made me wait a while to know me better. She had kids so that was cool. We did eventually hook-up. I've met most of her family at this point.

I will spend money once or twice on a girl I find pleasing my visual desires. My ATF will always get my money cause she gives in many ways.
If the chemistry ain't there I won't spend money and it won't even get to the "outside the club" stage. They all got boobs, bodies, and what not. I need some depth. Give me someone I can get deep with and the dances will be even better.

I spend time in LA and find the clubs there way better than what I've seen in the Chicago area where I live. Once you've ben to a really great club it's hard to just settle. I even told one of my AFT here at home that I was done going to places in Chicago. Now I have had a chance o try Jimmy's out here and it's not bad. Clubs wanting $20 for an airdance, not rom my wallet you won't.
And FONDL hits the nail on the head. Even in LA a few clubs are starting to over charge. Guys out there are telling me they go to the club just to drink and hang out, but go to parlors for the real fun and to spend $$. They weren't saying they wanted more milage, but that the cost to fun ratio made AMPs more viable.
Can you believe I stopped getting laps in Chicago a year ago? My girl would sit no my lap and I would pay her because the lap offered no contact at all. She has since been fired and works at a no contact/no sitting with customers place. That means we don't see each other at the club any more.

FONDL I have noticed a big treat toward massage places over clubs. The should be worried as the guys with money are finding other places to play. Clubs need to start doing the math.
Back on topic, I've had offers for extras, and I've been given them for free and upfront. I don't want a HJ, but other extras are appreciated. and once I found those girls why would I waste time with others?

Two of the only places worth a visit in the Chicago area. Jimmy's Restaurant in Chicago Heights. $15 laps, full songs, no cover, lots of action on the tip rail. Lamp Liter in Ottawa. $5 cover, lots of action on the tip rail, $20 laps, full songs, cheap drinks, and always a fun place to hang out. This place is for doing it old school.
