"Normally I use a couple of places in a tourist town directly south of me for these sorts of things, but she lives too far to the north for this to be convenient." It sounds you have a solution, but I'm wondering why her inconvenience is your problem. She wants the dinner. She can drive farther. Tis the season n' all that, but unless you just feel like giving gifts (or left out something relevant) this seems like a lot of extra work you didn't create.

No wait. Lol. I forgot that a dancer I pretend never existed dances under her real name. And that's in the last year or so.

Naming names in an all extras place
"In the first place the names used at clubs are not their real name." I don't want to drag the thread out, but this not until universally true. Your core point was made without having to bring in other angles. More than one club where I've been a regular multiple girls went by their real names. My third ATF just brought out her license one day and asked me what I thought of her photo, and her social media all still has her full name on it. If it was "today" and not over a decade ago would that still be the case? That's open for debate. But some dancers and staff are still pretty quick to share their real names, and in a couple of clubs I've forgotten a dancer or waitress stage name because I don't use it. Then there's the social fumble. At a club where I was talking with a dancer on her first day, some other random dancer sat down at the table to check on how and called said her real multiple times. After the oblivious one walked off I said something about pretending I didn't hear that, and she just shrugged it off and said it was ok to use her real name. Didn't seem staged. I can usually spot that.

DEBATE TOPIC: *ANY* Use of Dancer Names in a Review
"The problem is that eventually every review will read “went in, saw a brunette, had a good/great/ok time; left happy” whatever that means." I think we're a long way from that, 623. For one thing we've got longtime members like yourself to throw the bs flag on that. And we've got guys who'll describe the inside of a dancer's vagina (cuz you know he put his whole head in there and she liked it for no extra charge) in a review who don't read the boards and don't care about the comments so long as their stuff gets posted.

So many words. How could it be a fraud? I mean it has so many words it must cover all the angles. If anyone reads it all they'd be so tired (or bored, or annoyed) they wouldn't have the energy to pick it apart. Who could do such a thing?

"Do they really think we’re that desperate?" Yes. Good talk. Plus there may be dudes who readily pay that and ruin it for everyone. Last time I had a gal upcharge me I asked her to get off my lap (because she told me after the dance has start). Then she changed her mind once I agreed to multiple dances. After two songs I sent her on her way. The dances were so-so, and she was probably one of those that did a little more each song. But I was in the raunchiest club in town, and it was a lap dance not a fucking up close burlesque show, so that wasn't going to fly lol.

"This jealousy idea is silly and sophomoric at best." I was speaking in generalities, because none of us know what was going through the mind of the OP's dish. But I think if there's guys out there who really believe strippers can't get the feels out of P4P and do bad things because of it, that's a luxury I don't have. For me the most notorious incident I've had happened in two different clubs on two different days. Same crazy stripper. You're probably saying "wait, isn't that two?". Let's just say if I'd known why the first thing happened I wouldn't have shown up to trigger the second.

Naming names in an all extras place
"Here's the problem with The TUSCL Line, aka the "don't connect dancer names with extras" rule." Part of the issue, and it's not limited to TUSCL, is the tendency of people to want to have a shorthand for everything. Not every possible thing that might be seen at the club has to have a mutually exclusive label attached to it. I don't really concern myself with which act goes in the extras bin or not. At a certain club in Phoenix (before the dark times) every dancer I took for a dance had her hand in my pants by the second song. Nothing "extra" paid. It's just what they did without being asked. And that was within the first hour on my first and only visit to the club. Obviously it wasn't because of me being some super customer that it happened. I had a pulse, a hard-on, and a fistful of dollars. And for one bitchy, yet beautiful, dancer I had a few dollars more. But none of that went in my review. Plus Chili Palmer told me to get my eyes checked because my idea of a 10 wasn't his lol...If I think putting whatever detail next to a dancer's name might get her jammed up at work, I don't write it.

Using his phone as a shield against tipping is pretty funny, and then pulling a "go away" is doubling down on that. I'm surprised the club was ok with that based on the vibe I got, but then again I was only there long to enough to kick the tires. Maybe he's a known quantity who spends big but only when he feels like it.

"It was the first time that I noticed this type of interaction - with a customer. It was unusual - and I was surprised the dancers didn’t just move on (until he told them to go away)." This is an issue with the clubs that allow the tip walk. It's easy to say don't go if you can't afford to tip all the girls, but I've been to Johnny A's and they're throwing girls on stage like 5 or more at a time on a dayshift. That's a lot of tips to dish out. I was only there for a little over 30 minutes and burned through a lot of cash, but luckily most of it was on dances getting cut a lil short. I'm not embarrassed to say there are some clubs I used to avoid because I didn't feel like burning through tip walk dollars before my throwaway cash caught up with my appetites. In a lot of those clubs you have guys there for asap dances to dodge the tip walk or there to tip and not do dances.

    Golden Age of TUSCL
Circling back to the OP...I don't know if I'd pick a Dark Age for TUSCL, but 2020 was a Very Bad Year for the world. That global funk bled over into TUSCL in a big way.

Shadowcat tells a story about he got himself booted for a while after a falling out with founder, so his account is newer than his actual tenure on the site. Several of the newer faces are also on their second or third incarnation, but that's probably more detail than we need right now lol

Shailynn does it really matter that much? For what it's worth, your account is a year older than mine and I only joined after my friend got married and locked down. I'd been reading here a while before that. I only got active on the boards because I thought it could use another voice. Even though I think peak TUSCL was 2006 to 2008, the boards were mostly an echo chamber back then.

how soon after a visit should review be posted?
"In over 25 years of writing reviews for this site, it has never bitten me in the ass." It's because you're open with your affiliation. Which works for you and that's great. I have enough issues with dancers causing problems with each other (and headaches for me) without them knowing more on what I post about the hobby.

I'll hold a review at least a week or two even if it's written out. If it's a noteworthy visit even longer. But then again I've only written one review the entire year so far...

Customers get squirmy, too. I made incidental eye contact with the same customer about three times in about 20 minutes because only three dancers were dressed and the one he wanted wasn't budging from my table. Even after I asked about it. He played it off with the I'm on my phone but for a little while, but eventually took off. After the fact I found out one of the other dancers was a bouncy young party girl I'd heard about, and would've been totally fine meeting her while waiting for the one I was with to get back lol.
