Prices for dances in Portland, OR are too high. They should look into price fixing and get them back down to more reasonable rate.

Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life
Pop music is just that, pop music. When they were the hot thing, I could only identify two songs by the Spice Girls or Britney Spears, and now I can only identify one or two by Taylor Swift. That type of music has never appealed to me. It's a bit harder to find good new music these days because the mechanisms that I used in my youth (college radio, independent music stores, my friend circle at the time) are either non-existent or stuck in the past. Chatting with a dancer about music is actually a great way to discover new (to you) stuff. If she goes on about Billie Eilish or Swift, just move on to a different topic.
In terms of the world passing me by, I do feel that way a bit in the clubs. I don't understand the big round ass thing at all, and I'm not into fake boobs. This is one of the reasons that I find reviews with "most girls were 7-9" completely unhelpful it the reviewer doesn't describe their tastes.

Did they offer you 2 for $40, or did you negotiate it?

Watching Pedro pitch was certainly something. I've seen Clemens, Petit, Randy Johnson, Thor, Verlander, Glavin, Bartolo Colon, and Kershaw live. None of them compared. Granted, a lot of this is based on how batters were reacting to the pitches as opposed to me thinking "that Kershaw guy's curveball is good, but Pedro's looked so much better to me." (Also, Pedro's third pitch was really his change up and the curve was his 4th if I recall correctly).
Degrom's peak may have exceeded even Pedro's, but I haven't seen him live.

You can unfriend me, unfollow me, and unlike me; but you cannot unlick my butthole
Why is this a front room post? It would seem to fit better in the politics forum.

I've seen flip flops in clubs in my region. Is no flip flops just a Florida thing?

+1 for raising the bar for reviews. We should both take this on our selves as adjudicators, but also it would be helpful if the threshold for up/down votes was higher.
For what it's worth, the things I care about are (1) pricing structure, (2) dancer profiles (not names, but things like hair styles/natural vs enhanced, languages spoken, etc), and (3) how the club operates.

Gonna partially disagree with SkiBum and PuddyTat on Kittens. It was in great form last autumn, and in fact better than well regarded clubs such as RI Dolls. Last time I was they they clipped songs so I put them on hold, and they've had dancer turn over recently so the state of the club is in flux.
My last trip to Millennium was the only time I've ever seen a club with nothing but 7+ in the lineup. I've heard dancers complain about other girls doing extras there, but they've never been offered to me
The Club is only open three days a week, and strictly no extras, but the girls there will give very good grinds for $20 a song (one way contact) or 150/15 mins (full contact)
Boardroom is a great club well covered on this site.
Golden banana and Tens have the same owners and scan IDs. Both are ok clubs.

I think people on this thread are vastly misjudging "the economy," or at least not appreciating its complexity. There is no shortage of hot girls in America's big cities and college towns, so if dancer quality has indeed declined like y'all contend, then it is because ladies are finding dancing relatively unappealing compared to yesteryear's cohort.
Now it might be that white collar men are feeling a bit less secure and more be reluctant to spend on declining value.
If there is a solution, it has to be that clubs find a way to both raise dancer income and provide a better experience for PLs.
This means finding mechanisms to breakdown the dancer on phone problem, but also playing with prices (including dancer house fees) enough to encourage greater supply of high quality dancers.

In my neck of the woods clubs tend to come in pairs. In basically every case the club that doesn't scan IDs is better in other ways to the club that does. That makes the choice generally easier, but unfortunately the ID scanners tend to be open more days than the clubs that don't.

"First ever visit" reviews can have a lot of value, but they should be held to the same standards as others: describe the dancers, provide prices, are lap dances contact?
The other value in them is that they describe the experience of a non-regular, which is useful for traveling.

I write it like I mean it, but mostly they just want my money.
So, I know my tastes aren't universal, but I also know they aren't extremely niche either. Listening to the "Economics of Everything" podcast (referenced in a recent thread) there was a real disconnect between what the dancer said "guys want" and my preferences. This wasn't just body surgery, but also hair and makeup. It may legit be that tastes are changing as well, but I'm unconvinced.
