Expensive Eye Candy

From what I can tell from my visits to Quebec clubs, boobie joints play a different role than they do in the States. At least on weekend nights, they are full of large mixed crowds, which are sometimes multi-generational. When I arrived after 9pm and there were only perhaps 8 other customers. By 9:30 it was half full (I'm guessing seated capacity is around 250), and when I left between 10 and 11 it was full with a line out the door. The club is situated near a bunch of normal night clubs, cocktail bars, and nice looking restaurants. Seeing people line up is quite different from the USA where one tried to enter the club as discretely as possible.

The club itself is very accessible: bike lanes, bike share stations, METRO stops, walking distance to the R.E.M., and I found street parking (at $4.50 an hour until 11pm). The bouncer repeated everything in French and English, most dancers started in English, and the waitress started in French. Not knowing French would not be a barrier here.

Prices: $10 to the club and $5 to the bouncer who takes you to a specific seat. $12 for crap beer. There was a bathroom attendant who was both annoying and asking for tips. $5 every time you want to go back for a dance, and $20/song or $150 for half an hour. I'm not sure why you'd want to do half an hour though. All prices are CAD.
