I live pretty close to a large state college and have a lot of friends who are currently there. I have several friends who've gone off to other colleges as well and are telling me about their experiences there.
DC I don't mean to disregard your experiences but is it possible that you've just had an unusual experience that is shaping your opinion? I don't really notice people being so exclusively into one time hookups as you describe. Either your experience is odd or maybe your college is just super weird but I don't think your experience can really be generalized to apply to all colleges. Plenty of people have one night stands here but its not like that's literally all anyone does. I know plenty of people who have relationships like you describe, they can just text somebody and they come over and have sex.
Nobody should listen to anything PhatBoy says, he probably rapes most of those girls anyway and then acts like it counts under his "no doesn't mean no" philosophy and then convinces himself he's the casanova of TUSCL. In-fact, I'm going to put him on ignore from now on and I suggest y'all do the same.

Women have a right to have control over their reproductive choices. No woman wants to use abortion as a method of birth control, they do it as a last ditch effort to make sure that their lives aren't ruined but I would much prefer to just not get pregnant.

I personally am just not ready for a relationship. I am only going to be in my hometown for about ten months before I'm hoping to leave and go to college at UM so trying to be in a relationship would be very inconvenient at this time even if I did meet a guy who wanted an open relationship and was okay with me dancing. And when I get to UM I don't plan on staying permanently in Miami so a relationship there wouldn't really work either. So right now I'm just trying to have a lot of fun. I don't think there's anything wrong with deciding you don't want a relationship with a dancer for any kind of practical reason but I guess I just was bothered by the idea of men seeing me as being too dirty to date.

RickDugan I feel the opposite of your Russian girl, I really wouldn't want to date a guy unless he knew about me dancing and was okay with it. I don't know why you guys think a relationship like this is less honest because I view it as actually being more honest than a traditional relationship where people are controlling and have to hide their extramarital sex from each other as if they were one another's parents.

I completely agree with Poledancer!
Sex should be enjoyed as often as possible, humans were not meant for monogamy and we shouldn't be constrained by the limits of it. My libido is really high so Its difficult for one person to satisfy me on their own. I really haven't ever met somebody who could keep up with me and because of that, I need multiple partners. As long as people practice safe consensual sex and use condoms I don't really see the problem with it.

So I actually have a problem in that my family actually makes too much money for me to qualify for any kind of financial aid on a needs basis. My dad isn't paying for my entire college though so unless I want to go the student loans route which, at UM would result in me being $140,000-160,000 in debt by the time I graduate assuming I graduate on time, I will need to come up with the money on the spot. I'm hoping to get a merit based scholarship though. Everyone who applies to UM is automatically considered for one.
