If they had gotten away with it, it would have been evil, but clever.
The fact that they told people "shhh. This is a total scam. Don't tell anyone.", that they were spending a ton of the money right away on luxury cars and huge ATM withdrawals right next to a casino, and that they were busted within a year makes it incredibly stupid and not genius.
They'll go to jail and probably have trouble finding work after this, likely struggling for the rest of their lives.
As 4got2wipe likes to say. Not brilliant!

You can get a nice hotel for a reasonable price that is about a 5 to 10 minute walk from Hong Kong. Hotel Caesars costs about $40 per night if you pay in pesos. It's surrounded by restaurants and bars in the touristy area, but just a short walk from the red light district. It costs a little more on weekend nights. Rooms are small, but very nice.

Agree with TFP. Also, most hot girls in their early twenties get enough attention in their real lives. They aren't so insecure that they desperately need to seek attention on an internet board. It wouldn't surprise me if she really is a guy, or not the girl in the pics, or annoying as fuck in real life, so she can't hold onto a boyfriend.

Okay, not trying to be a dick here, but I'll keep it real. These speed stories are entertaining and fun to read, but you guys seriously need an intervention.
Skibum, from what I've read, you've worked hard your whole life, are successful, financially secure, happily married, travel, club, ski, play golf, have great friends, etc..
Why risk that for an adrenaline rush of driving your car 150 mph?
It's crazy. The speed that thrills is the speed that kills. That Indy driver who crashed this year is paralyzed and working his ass off every day, just hoping he may walk again someday. Maybe he will and maybe he won't.
Okay, I'll get off my soapbox. I just think it's not worth risking everything for one moment of adrenaline.

In all seriousness Juice, I'll give you a real answer to your question. I was married and happy for a while and then married and unhappy for a while too. After getting divorced, I met a sweet and pretty younger woman. I lived with her for several years and it was the same. I was very happy for a while and then got tired of living with her all the time. It was never about wanting to cheat or wanting other women. It was always about wanting my space. I've grown to love living alone and will don't want to get married again. I've found part-time relationships work best for me, where I see a woman every week, spend the night with her a couple of nights a week, and then sleep alone the rest of the week. It's a good balance for me. We still talk every day. It's just enough companionship and just enough space to keep me balanced. The problem is most women eventually want more, so I'll probably be single and lonely again at some point. However, part-time relationships are my sweet spot.

Once you got it made, you gotta keep it made. Twentyfive understands that. There are a lot of people at retirement age who worked, sacrificed, and invested their whole life to get to this point. They've lived through market crashes before and are smart enough not to chase risk for an extra 3% or 5% return when the downside could put their entire life savings in jeopardy. The Dominics of the world have the luxury of time as 25 stated. I imagine there are a lot of baby boomers sitting on a million dollars or more (or a large amount) who saw their accounts crushed in 2001 and 2008 and aren't going to risk that happening again. It's been a heck of a run the last 10 years after the last crash. Pigs get fat, but hogs get slaughtered.
