I see you're new to the forum so you probably weren't aware of the way to bypass paying the ridiculous cover price: call the club directly to pick you up at your hotel. You'll get a free ride and cover waived, just tip the driver $10 or something.

If you're staying at a hotel near San Diego airport you can use the blue line trolley to get to the border. $2.50 cost, about a 40 minute trip, and drops you off right at Ped East border crossing. If you uber from the airport area to the border expect to pay about $35, based on reports from others. I'm not sure of any HK express service from the airport area all the way down to the border.
As others have said, definitely get the room, even if you're not staying overnight. With the VIP card and Tuesday discount it'll pay for itself after just 3 trips upstairs. Plus no worry about any knock on the door after 30 minutes.
I'd also say it's safe to check out other clubs, even as a rookie. Just the single square block that HK is on contains a good amount of other brothels/clubs nearby that is short walking distance and relatively safe to get to. Chicago club is not on the same immediate block but it is also close and safe to visit IMO.
Definitely use cash and not credit card. This isn't the US, where every business is set up to use credit cards easily. Cash is a lot easier and no hassle.
Most importantly have a great time!

SLD that's true and I'm not complaining about my end result. The surprise admirer that nicespice had also didn't communicate with her beforehand yet by nicespice's account they also both had a great time.
To be honest all that negotiating in PMs doesn't sound like my thing anyway. Sounds almost too business like. I also used the dancer directory and linked up with a dancer in my area. It was my first time meeting anyone from these forums. Which was surprising because I was sure I'd meet up with another fellow PL first like Pizza or another Bay Area guy.
I didn't send her any PMs initially because I wanted to see exactly what she looked like first. I've only encountered this once and it didn't bother me. In this particular instance, this club had about 12 dancers and I was only interested in 2 of them. She was one of the two. I happened to be sitting next to a guy that I guess she had promised dances to later. But the way I was eye fucking her she knew I was interested. So she came and stood in between us and while telling the other guy that she could do the dances now, was stroking my crotch as to say 'I saw you looking and I'll be back'. She was good and I I really did enjoy those dances once she returned.

There is estimated to be 400,000 strippers in the US alone. Clubber must have some type of OCD. He's the only one so hung up over guidelines that he ignores good content just to criticize it for being short. Does he actually read the review, or just count the number of periods?
Like Laplurker I also have followed the trials and tribulations of this club. It was once a 'must try' club for me when planning my out of area strip club trips. Sadly over the course of two years a lot has happened and now I see I don't need to even bother with Phoenix.
I hope Follies can remain the same until I get a chance to finally visit Atlanta.

I found myself doing the same thing with watching the HK vids after not being there for over a month. I stumbled on one that trips me out. @Phandy glad you had a good time. Yeah I would imagine that being tied to one girl while being down there would kind of suck after a while. I mean there's pros and cons to both sticking with a favorite and jumping from girl to girl. But ultimately I wouldn't want to feel just restricted to one girl on a trip like that.
And as for overpaying I say don't worry about it. If you start going there more frequently I'd say definitely watch your spending and try not to overpay so the girl expects that payment every time. I only like the heels because it makes them taller. I swear all the dancers I seem to like end up being around 5'2, which is almost a full foot shorter than me at 6'1. Misterwonderful what's funny is if you made a general statement about the bargirls in HK I'd be more inclined to believe you since you've been there so many times.
