Gawker,
You know what they say ... you are what you eat!
I said that to PE coach in high school go called me a pussy because he didn’t think I was hustling hard enough.
It was one of the few times I saw that crusty old fart crack a smile.
Gammanu95,
Do you really think it’s possible to insult a supernatural entity who, despite being omniscient and omnipotent, chooses to leave the world a mess and who turns a blind eye to the suffering of his beloved children?
I doubt it.
If there is a god it is clearly one that has no shame and who would be completely impervious to insults.
But worship this fairy tale god if it pleases you.

Electronman,
Most people will continue to believe what they were taught as children unless they perceive that it’s alright to suspend belief (Santa Claus, tooth fairy and Easter bunnies).
I know a couple whose daughter was diagnosed with a rare cardiac disorder and who needed a heart transplant. They prayed with great sincerity for their daughter to me matched with a suitable donor heart.
She was matched in time and had a successful heart transplant.
They believed the transplant was the work of God, totally forgetting that it was God who gave their daughter the defective heart that almost killed her and that their gratitude would have been more appropriately directed to the highly sophisticated practitioners of modern medicine and pharmaceutics and the thousands of medical researchers through history on whose shoulders these modern miracle workers stood.

Cristobal,
“Not judging, just discussing but why would she not have full service sex but do everything else?”
Excellent question! I wondered about this a lot at the time. It never made any sense to me. But I never asked Ophelia to explain her reasons for this odd “anything and everything except vaginal sex” attitude.
Even if I couldn’t quite fuck her, I certainly did not want to risk talking her out of doing everything else with me. I just accepted that this limitation made sense in her mind.
I actually spent more time and energy trying to understand why she just didn’t break off the engagement if she didn’t feel that strongly about her husband to be. But discussions on that topic only made her cry so I quit.
Maybe because she wasn’t very enthusiastic about her imminent marriage but felt obliged to her family and her culture to go through with it, she felt that she at least deserved this fling.

CC99,
That was exactly what I discovered.
I might have felt differently if we had denied ourselves orgasms. But we didn’t deny ourselves orgasms. It was wonderful.
One night Ophelia lost it and breathlessly asked me to fuck her. I knew it was just a heat of the moment thing and I didn’t comply with her request. Instead, I just finished her off with my muscular tongue.
She thanked me later.

I’ve had a great many experiences where a dancer let me fondle, stroke, penetrate and/or ear her pussy ITC. Out of all those experiences, maybe a dozen times the dancer appeared to have an orgasm. In most cases I was persuaded that she was faking an orgasm for my benefit.
I can only recall two instances in which I was totally convinced that the orgasms were genuine.
There were a few additional instances where I was in doubt whether the orgasm was genuine or feigned.

I gotta agree with doctorevil.
“None of the pussy I’ve ever eaten has tasted like butterscotch.”
I have encountered pussy that tasted like last week’s leftover tuna casserole.
I always lose my appetite when I encounter that pussy flavor.

People are not motivated to fuck so they can have babies.
People act on urges.
Our procreative urges are deeply ingrained in our biology. Urges are not the product of reasoned thought or based on a desire to achieve anything other than the satisfaction of the urge.
We use contraceptives in order to avoid the natural and predictable consequences associated with the satisfaction of our urge to get sloppy.

Narnia
Most people (both male and female) will do whatever it takes to care for their children. It’s not a problem unique to women (though in most societies women have fewer opportunities than men).
In places where jobs are scarce many men leave their families behind and go to foreign countries in search of work. They send much of what they earn back home to feed and care for a family they never get to see anymore.
When all else fails, some men will resort to crime in a desperate attempt to care for their families.

CJKent,
You misapprehension the point of my post.
Read it carefully. I never suggested that forging the next link in the chain of life SHOULD BE our only concern. My post only states that, at least from the standpoint of nature, it IS our only purpose.
The natural order is as mindless as it is relentless.
I’m sure you’ve heard it said that the first step in solving a problem is the recognition that you have a problem.
I think we need to do a better job of understanding what we are and why we are the way we are. Maybe then we can figure out how to better manage ourselves.
Simply telling people how they SHOULD be strikes me as being no more promising a strategy than trying to train people to be midgets in order to conserve scarce resources.
But go ahead if that pleases you.
Knock yourself out.

CJKent,
I beg to differ.
You and I are both here because our ancestors helped themselves to the land, resources and women of competitors.
I will be the first to admit it’s not a pretty story and the continued pursuit of such unremitting selfishness may be our doom.
But it’s the truth.
Don’t believe me? Try preaching about love, sharing and ethics to a man whose family is starving.

2 lightning stories ...
When I was in my late teens, the frisbee my friend and I were tossing around ended up on the roof. I went up to get it as a thunderstorm was approaching. While on the roof I raised a fist to the sky and loudly challenged god to come and get me. My friend was horrified. Although he didn’t believe in god any more than I did, he said he didn’t want to spend the rest of his life wondering if god or Mother Nature had struck me down.
A few years later when I was a college student, lightning struck a building across the street from me. I must have got one of the side streamers. I felt a strong shock that nearly caused me to drop my umbrella. I was startled but unhurt.
For the record, I did pay extra to put properly grounded lightning rods on the high points of our current house.

The existence post only posits that we don’t exist in a fundamental sense but that our existence is emergent - analogous to shadows.
Shadows exist ... and then they don’t.

I left off a few other luminaries that I met when I was not traveling or living abroad.
These included:
Ronald Reagan (while he was POTUS),
George W. Bush (while he was VPOTUS),
Lady Byrd Johnson,
Dan Rather,
Earl Campbell.

Loper,
You’re correct.
The correct name is “Mariel” Hemingway.
And, by the way, although I have often said that “I don’t do freckles.” I’d happily make an exception in Mariel’s case!

So far, each marriage has been better than the last. In a way, I take credit for the improvement.
Slowly but surely, I am growing up and being less of a shit head.

If she walks away smiling, you spent too much.
Race has nothing to do with it.
I have never had the impression that black girls offered desploogination services for a lower price than white girls.
Overweight girls who are well beyond their “best before date” DO offer desploogination services at bargain basement prices, but the younger, sexier dancers of any color don’t.

I understand the argument that “prayer doesn’t hurt.”
Most of the time prayer probably doesn’t hurt. But sometimes it does.
Some people will pray rather than take their child to a doctor even when their child desperately needs quality medical attention. Our elected officials constantly offer their “thoughts and prayers“ after another mass shooting rather than consider taking concrete steps that might help avoid similar calamities in the future.
Prayer may not always be harmful, but then neither is clear thinking.

SirLapdamcealot - Rene Descartes got everybody confused with his “cogito, ergo sum” proposition.
I felt (and still feel) confident that most people believe their existence is fundamental. People who believe in souls and an afterlife are particularly susceptible to this view.

Excellent quote!
I like it even if I don’t relate to it personally.
I’ve never really been lonely. There are dual reasons for that. 1) I have always had friends and family. 2) I tend to be a bit of a loner and tolerate long periods of isolation without discomfort.
