The final four should possibly be (in no order) Detroit, Miami, Vegas, and a wild card. I'd say Atlanta but I know some of its big clubs have shut down so idk who'd fill that spot.

"I absolutely detest French. It sounds completely hideous and grotesque to me, but a lot of people love it."
To me French has always sounded beautiful. Took French in college. The first semester was easy; by 2nd semester I had to actually go to almost classes, and got good grades, but it was a bit tough when usually I learn fast. Also, sooo many French words have way too many letters. Like ok that's enough, it's a little laughable. I still like the language.
I took German in high school. It's kind of easy to learn, but it's kind of an ugly language... let's be real. Nothing about German language is beautfiul.
If I weren't a native "American English" speaker, I'd think English sounds weird... especially southern dialects, or NYC dialects, that are a specific part of American English.

"YSL is consistently good imo. I haven't smelled anything of theirs that I hate."
Ugh I had their Mon Paris and enjoyed it, and then it got stolen. I was pissed.
My all time fave, every day wear, would be Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. Always gotta have a bottle of that.
Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf is also very good.
Elie Saab (the original scent) smells delicious as well. I wear that more in the summer and spring, to events like weddings, baby showers, brunches, etc.

Standardized tests have biases that can preclude underprivileged demographics from scoring as highly as their more privileged counterparts.
With that being said, I was blessed to have the privilege of being a naturally good test taker, especially when it comes to standardized tests (my ACT scores are literally what got me into college, as my cumulative high school gpa was mediocre at best, and that's being generous). My skillset was very applicable for the LSAT which I did fantastic on.
However, it kind of pisses me off that some universities are now accepting other standardized tests for law applicants that do not pertain to law or the ability to interpret it, and these other tests do not have anything to do with interpreting language, analytics, etc. It seems like a slap in the face to the entire legal profession and what *most people* have had to work on to become law students. Not to mention, we have bozos like KIM K who is apparently becoming a lawyer, without actually going to law school, and has probably already paid someone to take the bar for her. Dumb fucking twat.

Fun fact, my uncle was a producer for this show for a few years.
Never could watch it though, that zombie shit freaks me out.

"@Nina yeah 2 years seems like more than enough under those circumstances."
Who got two years?
"But you and your mom might want to be a little bit wary of him. He might have gotten out for flipping on other people,"
He served 30 years. I think if he were going to "flip" (ie snitch on someone), he would not have hung out in prison for 30 years for fun just waiting decades to spill the beans. Ya know, usually when people snitch, it's to get out of prison time or get a lesser sentence. People don't just dedicate 30 years of their lives in prison and then spontaneously decide to snitch on someone who is most likely either dead or incarcerated themselves by then, in which case after such a long time there wouldn't be much info to snitch about, therefore there would be literally no reason to snitch on someone after 30 years.
"and made up the part about being forced to do it."
This is not made up. This is a well known fact in our family that was established during his court proceedings. It is was happened.

"@Nina he's a great person but he took someone else's life? If he wasn't tried as an adult, how did he get a 30 year sentence to begin with?"
He was tried as an adult. Some loop-hole in the laws allowed him to be released since he was a minor at the time of the crime, from what my mom told me. I don't know the details, because growing up, all I knew was that he was my cousin (my mom's first cousin), and got a life sentence for a double homicide so I thought I'd never meet him. Then he ended up getting released a few years ago.
Since you're so interested, as a teenager he got involved in some gang activity and was given an ultimatum: kill a rival gang member, or they were going to murder his entire family. So, he shot the guy's house up and killed him as well as accidentally killing the dude's wife/gf/whatever. It happened. He is not an evil person, he is in fact a good person. Idk, maybe it's possible that someone can change in 30 years. 🤷♀️

People with strong enough willpower can successfully complete a 10, 20 (etc) year prison sentence without having to kill themselves. You learn how to "assimilate" to the prison culture, and if you're savvy, you will actually make use of your time in prison learning different crafts, finding new hobbies that could possibly be lucrative once you get out, etc.
I've had a few cousins go to prison for murder; one (an older one) was technically a minor at the time, so just a couple years ago after serving like 30 years, he got out. He is an extremely gifted artist and a great person. I'm happy to have met him and he has integrated into regular society just fine.
Many people "rebuild" their lives in prison when they are facing long time. They have prison families, loved ones, ways of life, etc. If you can adapt, you could live a meaningful life inside of prison.
That being said, US prisons are inhumane and easily one of the most depressing places in America.

No, a twin bed isn't that bad and yes, eventually a guy will offer to buy you a bigger bed. Or you'll just save up enough money from the money you charge the guys you're taking home.
Guys at extras clubs pay money to fuck on something a lot less comfortable than a twin bed, in most cases.

"I would be interested in hearing what's going on up on 8 Mile (nothing?)"
I haven't worked there in almost a year, but you know most of the Detroit clubs in the actual city are non-extras now. Notice how all the clubs mentioned where in the outer/suburb area, not actually in Detroit. Last I worked, there wasn't much going on, on 8 mile. It's a totally different vibe than it was 5 years ago. Although it was poppin' for a little while in 2021 when all the bars opened back up regularly in June.

Who the fuck is Ninabambina?
True Romance has 3 of my favorite Tarantino scenes of any of his films: Alabama vs the Sopranos guy, the Mexican Standoff at the end, and of course, the Sicilian scene with Dennis Hopper (RIP) and Christopher Walken. Pristine story telling.
Pulp Fiction has some great scenes, too. The end scene is magical, but there are so many more. Even down to Christopher Walken's dialogue about Bruce Willis' character's daddy's watch (which, if you missed it, was inside of an asshole for quite some time, of course).
Inglourious Basterds' Tavern scene? *chef's kiss.*
Kill Bill vol 1 has an opening scene that can rival any film's opening. Her driving off in the "Pussy Wagon" to end the scene was just the cherry on top. The crazy 88's scene was amazing cinema that clearly took a lot of hard work. Must've been a bitch to film.
"Now take your hands from around my throat, NIGGA" from Jackie Brown? Amazing story telling.
Salma Hayek was mesmerizing in her role in From Dusk Till Dawn as much as any female ever on film, including the likes of Marilyn Monroe.

***DON'T READ THIS POST IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS ON TRUE ROMANCE***
"I liked True Romance more because its his script but lacks his heavy-handed directing style."
I ageed with you there. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't have liked the film as much if Scott had kept Quentin's original ending. Apparantly, Clarence was supposed to die in that end shootout and Alabama still leaves for Mexico with the money by herself. I have even seen an alternate ending, and it's really sad. I like it better the way it is.

I've seen Wolf of Wall Street the most times out of any of his films.
Taxi Driver is one of his best.

Congrats on being a feature in NYC! Very cool. I worked at Landing Strip for a while, but not at the same time as you. It's always nice to see fellow strippers leveling up outside of the basic strip club world, whether it's venturing out into more of the art of sex work, or doing something totally vanilla - it's all a win, and we should respect ourselves for using dancing as a pillar to build a great life! 😊

That's true what Blahblah said. When I was new to stripping, a dark skinned black friend of mine saw how much money I was bringing in, and decided to audition. I helped her pick out a cute outfit and helped her do her makeup and she looked great so I went down to the dressing room to get ready and got a text from her saying, "I didn't get hired. He said he has too many black girls." I was actually shocked. So she went home, and when I got on the floor and questioned him about it, he flat out told me, "I have too many black girls. She can come work once I get rid of one of them."
I can name countless incidents of obvious racism against black girls in "gentlemen's clubs"...it is actually rampant, but has gotten so much better in the last few years. My advice to you would unfortunately be to "whiten yourself out," I know it sounds awful but talk overaly peppy and sounding like a stereotypical "white girl" when you audition. Maybe go to some clubs as a customer first to get the info on what other girls there wear, so you can be prepared.

I played Baby One More Time while on a road trip. Turns out he had a huge crush on Britney Spears when he was a little kid and knew all the lyrics. We jammed out together.

"Besides holding your coat and car keys hostage, they hire people to pretend they are dancers and talk up the clip joints (flight club, landing strip) and trash the honest clubs (h8n, bogarts)."
Because we all know that Landing Strip and Flight Club is downright peasantry compared to H8s and Bogarts, right? Excuse me while I cackle.

The Office (US) comes to mind. This is one of my favorite comedy shows and the star, Steve Carrell, says he doesn't think it would've had the success today that it did just 10-15 years ago because of the PC climate of today. The show might not have made it past one season.
However, also depends on the network. Comedy Central doesn't give a single fuck, which is why South Park has been wildly successful for over two decades. Easily one of the most offensive shows ever, but it works, because that's the point; it's openly offensive. Another comfort show of mine.
Sex and the City is another comfort show that comes to mind in relation to this topic. The show was very flawed and sometimes extremely clumsy in its handling of POC, LGBTQ, etc. But I love it. They did some kind of reboot recently which I refuse to watch. They went over the top in PC-ness. I'm all for being inclusive, but don't ruin the premise of the show.
Also like Friends. It lacked diversity, but I never saw it as particularly problematic.
