I will be 78 in a few days. I retired at 62. You not only need to look at finances but your health and the health of your wife if you are married. If the odds are that you will live into your upper 80s and even 90s delay retirement. In my case my wife was getting weaker. By retiring at 62 she had 10 good years of traveling the USA.
