My $.02. I'm sorry you a $_ _ _ _y experience. Go down the road a bit to Angels in Clarksburg. I think you'll find the crowd and the dancers are more diverse (and hopefully less judgmental that you are a WOC). Best wishes and keep submitting reviews.

Haven't ever ventured across the Potomac to check out Paper Moon. I understand it is expensive for everything, but $12 for a Blue Moon is ridiculous. That seems like DC pricing, not suburban Fairfax County.

Member, depending on the length of you stay you might consider purchasing a pass for riding the DC subway system, what the locals call The Metro. There are are 1, 3 & 7 Day passes available. A number of the clubs in the city are Metro accessible. These include Camelot, Mpire, and Archibald's. Good Guys, for one, is not Metro accessible. I don't club in DC much any more so I can't give you much inside intel. When I visited Archibald's in December it seemed pricey. Since parking can be a challenge in some parts of town, Metro is a good option. Despite your stated aversion to VA clubs, you might give Crystal City a shot. It is metro-accessible with a bit of a walk from the Crystal City subway station. If nothing else you can get an above-average meal there. And there is a private dance option available now which I have not yet experienced. If you go to MD you'll need a ride or a rental car. Post some reviews. Safe travels!

@cashman- The City of Baltimore (where The Block is located) is heavily Dem. The City Council and Mayor are all Dems. So the answer to your question is "no".

$40 per song is pricey. That rate seems more like what you'd find in the DC suburbs. I guess when you're the only game in town you can charge what the market will bear. And as you state they probably do attract guys who are flush with casino winnings. I miss Diva's in Kearneysville.

Hootie & the Blowfish at a club called The Bayou in the Georgetown area of Washington DC in the early 90s, a couple years before Cracked Rear View was released. Their road manager at the time was a high school classmate.

My answer is the exact same as JASCOI's. A 2012 car with a CD player. I have given up attempting to make my iPhone 6S play through the speakers with an aux cable attached. That functionality worked briefly but now seems to be outside of my limited tech skills. I prefer to listen to terrestrial radio, but I will open up Spotify on the phone and listen through the phone speaker if I'm desperate.

I like Fireball. Fireball is whisky-based, right? Whisky is liquor, right? The review states the club has no liquor license. What am I missing here?

Used the restroom at Sinsaysionals. Even for a #1 it's a scary proposition. I recommend avoiding it all costs. There are fast food places nearby to use as an alternate.

Bad idea to use card in SC. Cash is king.

Wow. That didn't take long. The reviews on here start from October 2020. Curious about the lifespan of this club. Was it a COVID casualty? Did the club exist in the pre-pandemic days?

I hadn't planned to go for multiple reasons. However I ended up with tix to the hockey game and decided WTH since it was still early and the club is not too far from the arena. It was a mistake on my part. At least the parking on K street is free by that time of the night. So I didn't get hosed on that.

Cue the inevitable WV jokes from jackslash. Thanks ES. Wish I could stick around until Sunday. Maybe another time :)

On Tuesday night I hope you really didn't "slip on your beer", as that would suck :) But seriously, this is a thorough, well-written review. As someone who is unlikely to ever get to TJ, this paints a vivid picture of HK. I hope that others will respond to the various questions you raised throughout the review. Thanks for posting.

@gammanu95 - Have both given and received gifts over the years with no expectation of any return. Mostly gift cards. Although I did give some VS undies once and that seemed to be appreciated. @IIGBD - I'm amazed you have physical addresses. I always viewed that intel as kind of like the Holy Grail. Agreed about it being tricky to by clothing for women.
