I came to comment on one of the same things that Longball300 did - I like being able to just scroll through reviews and read, rather than having to click through each one. Doubly so if I'm at a club having a smoke outside and double-checking the intel - I have big fingers, and hitting links on a phone is always a crapshoot. The fewer clicks/button presses, the better. No feedback on the rest. I have a massive hate-on for web 2.0 bullshit, so I can't say whether it's good or bad design - I think it's ALL bad design, but that's nothing against founder. :p ... actually, that brings up another issue/improvement, which is that most of the icons seem to be missing mouse-over text. Like, just from this page, does the O with a line through it block a user, or just mute a post? Sure, I can click on it, but I don't know if it's going to immediately block or give me a menu. I know I (apparently) followed and unfollowed a club (or maybe unfollowed and followed it?) because I didn't know what the icon on the club page did at the time...

FWIW, you definitely overpaid for the lap dances by Kittens' standards. I'm seldom quoted more than 1/40 or 3/100 topless, and if I am, I walk no matter how hot the dancer is. $350 for 15 minutes isn't terrible if you know you're going to get what you paid for... but it sounds like you didn't get what you paid for. You can do a lot better at other Seattle area clubs (not in downtown,) although the ladies tend to have a bit more "mileage" on them as well.

FWIW, Kittens is the answer IMHO - I've always had good luck there. YMMV as always, and you should probably read the reviews for both since you've got VIP.

@Club_Goer: The actual layout hasn't changed all that much in years. The last major physical change (i.e. would require actual construction) I can remember is them putting a wall between the entryway and the VIP "hallway" in back, and that was many years ago. Other than that, they put up that cage by the DJ booth - but that probably could have been tossed up in a day. Same with the wall o' fetish. Everything else I can think of is new furniture/them shuffling the layout/"how things work" - new tables and chairs for pervert's row, rearranging seating around the stage in general, only allowing 3/100 in the VIP hallway, the more "open" chat area across from the bar/just outside the VIP area, more red in the lighting, etc. If I remember what I was told correctly, the rebranding is an attempt to distinguish the club from the other DV clubs in the area. I say it's damned silly, but what the hell - it gives me an excuse to stop by again. Like I need one.

I plan on going to the "grand reopening" on 1 Nov myself and finding out what's up - a dancer I've wanted to reconnect with for a while will be there. AFAIK, management isn't changing or anything, so it's probably just an update to the name here on the site. I'm also fairly sure it'll still be under the DV banner - I'll ask around when I go though.

YMMV, but at least some of the girls in this club cultivate regulars - it just takes a few visits to get known. Get some dances, chat, don't accept any bullshit, and you'll have a reasonable amount of fun here. You're not really going to get down and dirty with most of the girls here because of the cameras - if you're looking for that, the LCW clubs are definitely better - but it CAN happen. Again, YMMV since I've been going to this club... well, pretty much since it opened. I'm like Norm, but my dick's hanging out of my pants and I only go once or twice a month. :V I should do a review for my next visit. Take some notes on the dancers, etc - it's been a while since I've done that for this club.

Two things that often make me skip the tip: - Dancers in a club that don't at LEAST take their top off on stage (I always tip the stages for a while when I go to the club) - Dancers who ask for a tip like they expect it - because that's not a tip, that's an upcharge. Of course, I also make sure I let the dancer know early in the interaction that I'm watching the stages/taking a few moments to "enjoy" my soda/whatever else gently implies "nope, not getting dances right now, piss off and come back later." If they still stick around to chat, that's their business.

Lately, it's been Space Engineers for me. Minecraft In Space! With explosions! And then a side of Rogue-likes - I think I'm going to see what the latest build of Cataclysm DDA looks like tomorrow.

To be more clear since what the hell was my point: The club is definitely low-rent, but I can't say I've ever met a girl there that would be "Ratchet." There's basically one girl that works daytimes that I've ever seen (although I don't get in there during the day TOO often,) and the girls at nighttime don't do anything extra as far as I've seen (I think because of the club owner being there most nights.)

I mean, for as shitty as the club looks, all the girls I've met there have been sweethearts. And AFAICT, extras are just plain not available in the evenings - but your daytime choices are very limited.

I never want this club to close down, if only so I can keep reading people's reviews/reactions to it.

@founder: Browsers save the password, but you still need to jump over to the login form (by the way, thanks for making that more easily accessible) at least once a day. Kind of sucks on the phone when I want to minimize the work needed to get somewhere, but not quite as much of a problem when you're actually on the website. I'm also pretty sure you extended login sessions once already, because I remember in the past being AFK for an hour and having to log back in - that really DID suck. FWIW, I say keep it for at least a week, if not permanently - but "a week" is just based on my usage pattern. Obviously, as with many of these things, a config option is the best if it's easy enough to implement. :)

Funny you should mention the grandmas, because one of my favorites has told me stories about how her grandma stripped and how they talk about stripping all the time. I don't think it'd end up being a college course, but I have a number of (non-stripper) friends who are getting into pole dance classes - it's obviously not the same thing, but stuff like that chips away more and more at the stigma against it. If various prudish interests don't regulate it into oblivion, I can see it becoming more and more popular as a job - but I also see the service levels we're used to going down, and not in the good way.

My opinion: Depends on what stresses you about talking to girls. If you find yourself continually being distracted by tits while talking to civvie chicks? Hell yes. Exposure therapy and all that. If it's just general nervousness being around a pretty girl? Yup. If you actually need to work on your general conversational skills? Ehhhh. Probably not. Not to say that strippers can't converse (I've had some wonderful post-coital conversations with strippers,) but you need to be able to hold up your end of the convo.

@icemaniac: Follow the review suggestions on the submission form and you usually can't go wrong. Try to hit all those points - even if it's not a great review, most people won't ding you for it.

I remember last time I went for election day, the club was dead. Most of the dancers were freaked out and stayed home.

I'd be more inclined to help you out if you had some reviews under your belt. Suffice to say, there are reviews for this and other clubs in Seattle that answer your question.

@BruGaleen - I was just reading over this thread, and was about to suggest the same thing as @PaulDrake. You hit the nail on the head when you said "get up to the stage where the action is." Go to the bar, grab $20-50 worth of singles, sit at the front row with your beer/cider/alcohol of choice, and tip more than others (within reason - you don't need to make it rain all the time, but I'd personally suggest at least $1 per song for girls on stage, and more if that seems like the average for your club. YMMV, and you may have a stigma to overcome at this point if PaulDrake's read is right.) If you're really interested in the girl on stage, while you're tipping her, tell her to come see you for a dance or two (always imply more than one) once she's done. I've never had this fail yet. Finally, "nice" and "getting your dick ground on in a club" aren't mutually exclusive. I'm a big proponent of making the girl feel comfortable by asking questions like "where are you okay with me touching you?" while settling in for the first dance. If you don't like the answer, either end it immediately or end it after a song (she might surprise you!) and pay her for her time. If you like the answer, enjoy your dances.
