Unless something catastrophic happens with the numbers... I suspect folks will become fatigued of the fear and the Covid stories will eventually be buried or drop of. Given this, I believe SC will be back to normal without restrictions within four months. I'm biased by wishful thinking though.

@Ski - I think what is misunderstood is the precedent this sets. If the ,"new normal" is lockdown to save lives....holy shit look out. How some very smart folks don't see that is baffling. @Subra - I went to one of the protests in Phoenix and can attest most the protesters were not in "protest" shape. Let's just say years of gluttony and abundance were on full display. There must be millions of folks in America that will not qualify for unemployment, stimulas etc... Their income went to zero and has been that way for weeks. They can exist on savings, family and credit cards but that will only last for a very short while. I'm surprised we have not seen more cracks in society up to this point. Doubt it will last.

AZ stats Hospitalization - 1,131 Deaths - 301 > 65 yo deaths - 233 If someone gets sick enough to go to the hospital they have a 27% of death. Terrible to quander but how many lives are hospitals really saving.

@me - you can find decent quality for 300 to 350 a week in the Phoenix area. That's just base though. Have to factor in meals, gifts, hotels and extra cash you will inevatibly give for emergencies. It adds up quick. As said previously. It is a numbers game. Probably two out ten are good quality but they are out there.

The numbers are so big it is meaningless to discuss. The term "money" had no meaning when the gov can create trillions out of thin air after decades of saying there is no money for healthcare, SS, homeless etc... I do think the states are using this pandemic as a potential bailout for past budget sins. That is pretty clear now. If they open up, they may miss the bailout gravy train

@mongo - the article mentions "growing numbers". Does that mean two to five OR 1k to 15k. So many articles out there with incomplete data causing panic.

The transparency created by the internet and social media makes our appointmented leadership reluctant to make the difficult decisions. This could easily lead to a downfall of some sorts. I suspect the people will become fatigued from all the scary news. The death count will fall deeper and deeper into the news reporting and far less scrutiny will be given to the reopenings.
