    Finally Back to Boggies!
This is encouraging. The last time I visited Bogarts (an afternoon visit), the talent was so bad that I didn't even finish my beer.

Too much of a good thing is never enough
Why do some clubs tolerate extras, while other clubs discourage/prohibit extras?
Shadowcat-- I hadn't considered that perspective-- that the "no extras" dancers might ride the coattails (how's that for a mixed metaphor) of the extras dancers to get more customers. JamesSD-- I think you are correct, every case is a special case. I would also speculate that a club that flies under the radar with respect to illicit drug sales, fights and other public disturbances might be in a better position to allow extras. Said another way, if you're going to break the law, break only one law at a time.

meat and etsu: If money was the only factor, wouldn't all clubs be offering extras? I think that Papi has the correct combination of inducements and risks. I might add that some dancers seek out an extras-friendly club so they can make more money. They may nudge the club towards an extras-friendly stance, but I'm not sure how much influence they have over the club managers/owners. Other dancers seek out strict no-extras clubs so they can compete on even footing with the other dancers who elect to NOT offer extras. I can only imagine how challenging it must be to be a no extras dancer who is trying to compete for customers in an extras-friendly club. Now if we can just tip the scales to make it more tempting and safer for all clubs to offer extras!

    A Visit to Landing Strip
Good review. I agree that on most dimensions, Landing Strip compares favorably to Flight Club. Talent is pretty comparable and the prices (drinks, VIP access and dancer fees) are typically slightly lower than FC. However, the tolerance for smoking at Landing Strip is a major turn off for me. A few other clubs in the area also allow smoking (e.g., Flight Club, Criket) but have a designated smoking area so that you don't reek of smoke after a visit.

    i'm a hooker...but legal
So, are you commenting that it is legal to have sex while making a porno movie, but not if the same act and pay occurs without a camera? That said, prostitution should be decriminalized and regulated.

Would you get a dance from a dancer ......
I don't let political or religious differences get in the way of strip club fun. I attempt to respect people's right to have opinions that differ from my own, at least until those differences of opinion are expressed in behavior that has a direct and adverse impact on me.

Are Detroit clubs still skirting the law?
As of July 22, the following Detroit area clubs are open, based on personal visits or trusted reports: Landing Strip Flight Club BT's Silver Cricket Bogarts Most of these are operating at bikini clubs (no nudity on stage). Some of the Michigan Deja Vus are also open. They do not serve alcohol so they are not closed under the Governor's order that closes bars and taverns. If you post an update, be sure to include the date of your update--- the strip club scene seems to change every few weeks in Michigan.

If the deaf man wins, will that open the door for blind people to sue over the absence of braille porn videos? There was a Braille version of Playboy. I don't know if they found a way to rendert the centerfolds in Braille.

    deja vu VIP cards
I failed to mention that the club increased its admission fee and started requiring that private dances be purchased in blocks of 5 or more (no single "trial" dances) and also placed restrictions on contact during the dances. Now that's a great business model to attract customers back to the club after the COVID shutdown -- increase prices and decrease options and service (my sarcasm should be evident).

    deja vu VIP cards
Deja Vu is a national chain so I don't know if my experience represents an organization-wide policy or whether it was unique to the club that I visited. About four months ago, I purchased a VIP card, with the promise that it would give me free admission for 6 months. Of course 3 months were "lost" to COVID shutdowns of all the strip clubs. About a week after strip clubs were allowed to reopen, I ventured in to a Deja Vu and showed them my VIP card, which was marked as expiring at the end of July (more specifically, it was valid for two more months after the date of my visit). I was told by management that the VIP cards were no longer valid for admission, regardless of the expiration date on the card. They offered to sell me another 6 month card for $40. I passed and went to a different club. While I do enjoy clubs where the girls can dance nude, this type of shoddy and unethical management practice has prevented me from being a regular customer at the Deja Vu chain. If you decide to invest in a Deja Vu "bracelet" or purchase a VIP card, do so with caution.

What would you name Your Strip Club?
Tits for tips Ass for cash. The church of fallen angels-- makes for a good excuse (I stopped by church on my way home) and might qualify for tax relief. Also a great place for some missionary work.

strip clubs in Houston may close again
OK, limit group gatherings but why target strip clubs? I only get a private dance from one dancer at a time; I can't afford a group of dancers. I wonder if any of the infections are actually traceable back to strip clubs?

"That's why it's so great: People have to pay attention to you because you're naked," says dancer Breauna with a laugh.
Playhouse Club in Romulus opens Monday June 8
GB: Several reasons for my comment. In recent years, the number and quality of the dancers has been disappointing. Unless they have redesigned the VIP area, it did not offer much privacy. Most importantly, the other clubs in the area (Landing Strip, Flight Club, Bogarts, Henry VIII N) offer better entertainment options. In truth, I haven't been to Playhouse in a couple of years. If others have visited more recently, I would welcome an updated report. It might change my mind and encourage a future visit.

This club has been on life support for several years. Let's hope the reopening is a real re birth.
