Are they still teaching English in the schools?m The short answer is “no”. The teacher shortage is the US has reached a catastrophic stage. Shockingly, there is no national database that tracks the shortage of teachers, but, for example, Houston began the school year with at least 1000 teacher openings. By some estimations, there are 600,000 less teachers than pre-COVID As a result, many “less than qualified” twigged are being hired in our school systems. Students, who years ago probably had zero qualifications to attend college, are enrolling with the help of student loans and Pell Grants. Some of these are now teaching in the US public school system Now, we have high school math students who rank 31 out of 35 developed countries. Our country reads at a 7-8th grade reading level. But, hey, they know CRT

El Dude, You’re way missing the point. “Listening to” vs “being aware of” are two entirely different concepts. The Rolling Stones are iconic. I’m not expecting a 24 year old to listen to them but it’s beyond stupid to not have heard of them. When I was in high school, I certainly did not listen to Al Jolson, for example, but as a historical figure in the entertainment industry I knew who he was

“You can't call someone out of touch for not knowing about a band that was popular 30 years before they were born“ Icee, once again your reading comprehension skills are waning. The point being, this IS generational. People my age did know musicians who were popular 30 years before they were born. Especially when they’ve reached the iconic status of the Stones. And we know a lot of current stars too. That’s not at all the case of today’s youth

    Lebron James - Dumbass
Icee, you’re missing the point badly. I’m not supporting any of those things. Lebron is being hypocritical in his criticism. Go back and reread my posts. Or listen to some current music to understand my point I’m not supporting Sarver - get it?

When I was that age, I still knew who the big stars of the 30’s and 40’s were. Glenn Miller, the Ink Spots, Bing Crosby, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Harry James, Benny Goodman It’s frightening she has no idea who the Stones. It’s not like they’ve out of the spotlight

Be careful what you wish for. I like full figured women, I personally can’t stand skinny, bony dancers, so when I had the opportunity to attend an amateur BBW contest, I was excited. I nearly vomited. These women were morbidly obese

The whole line of succession really is screwed up Anne, the Queen’s daughter is way down at 16 and Andrew really gets screwed over too as William’s 4 year old kid is higher on the list than Andrew

Football is still the most entertaining sport
Personally, I think nothing can compete with college basketball but that’s another topic. I ran across a YouTube video the other day that shows the opening of the “The NFL Today” with Brent Musberger, Irv Cross and Phyllis George. Around 1975. You should try and find it. What’s interesting is all the clips they used to promote the show - clothesline tackles, QB body slams, spearing a wide receiver are all illegal today

    Are Women Attracted to Smokers?
The percentage of smokers is way, way down from what it once was. Google says it 12.5% down from over 20% just 15 years ago What that figure doesn’t tell you is that it’s highly geographically distributed. The percentage of smokers in the south and Midwest is far greater than “the healthy” western states. It still seems person in a strip club smokes.

I think the OP needs to do a little research on current affairs. Google the Wikipedia map of current armed conflicts / wars. Nearly the entire continent of Africa except for South Africa is in the RED danger zone War is hardly the sole domain of rich white men
