Amazing

But the highlight for me (and why I watched the show in the first place) was Carry Underwood, who once again won best female vocalist. As well she should have. She has an absolutely fantastic voice and a great style to go with it. Plus she's one of the 10 best looking women on the planet and I have no idea who the other 9 are. What are the odds of one person being that attractive and that talented? Amazing. If she were a stripper it would take her about an hout to clean me out completely, house, car, savings and all. Whereas it would probably take Pickler twice that. God I love those female country singers. Why is that?

For some reason, I have always been attracted to girls that have a nice singing voice. My last two ATFs (current, especially) have had really nice voices, and I really enjoy it when they sing along with a song in my ear while giving me a dance ... like they are singing just for my benefit... for me.. (I know... kind'a crazy).
I was actually trying to make 2 points: (1) I though it was a good show - but why are there so few music shows on TV? (2) I really dig both Carry Underwood and Kelli Pickler and yet they are almost complete opposites. So I guess you could say my taste in females is eclectic.
Reba is one hot lady, I'd do her in a heartbeat....
Another point, perhaps. Look at the women of country music. There are, God knows how many, that are just lovely. Might be easier to name those that aren't.
Then turn your sights to those of the rock world, and you get Courtney Love and, well, I'll leave it right there.
Now, I like some of most all types of music (oldies are the best), but bottom line, rock is my # 1. And I don't mean just main stream rock.
The above said, I will place my vote that country music has, by far, the best looking women!
My taste in music varies with my mood, which is partly determined by where I am and the time of day. In the morning I prefer something soft and soothing like soft rock or classical music, afternoons I tend to like something more lively like classic rock, evenings something more moody like jazz or country or chamber music. Nothing like country while driving on a long trip late at night. If I listen to the radio, I find that no matter what station I listen to, I generally like about half the songs and don't much care for the other half. Same is pretty much true for most CDs, which usually are about half filler and half good songs.
In strip clubs I prefer classic rock. But if I'm out in the boonies I don't mind some country mixed in - it sorta goes with the atmosphere. But no rap or hip-hop please - I don't consider that to be music, it's just noise.
First of all, Carrie Underwood is pleasant enough, but her looks are dime-a-dozen blonde, her personality is perky but sort of annoyingly so, and her music is typical of the catchy but bland pop style that has given mainstream country a bad name. I'll take Miranda Lambert over Carrie and the rest of her ilk any day.
On the whole, I would say that R&B and pop easily has better women singers than country, especially when you compare their most popular stars. As for looks, as much as country tries to promote their female singers as sex symbols, most seem a little uptight about it. Again, R&B and pop women leave country women in the dust.
Furthermore, country music in a strip club is just wrong. The rhythms and the attitude are to square to dance sexy to, except as a very rare change of pace. Maybe some understadedly soulful ballads, but the upbeat or "rebel" country songs just ruin it.
Now, I can see why the Eagles are popular - they've had some nice hit songs - but "amazing" is not a word that should have been used anywhere near them in their so-called prime, let alone 30 years later. I consider them aural wallpaper, not music.
Finally, classic rock would be fine if only they stopped playing the same fucking songs over and over again. Believe it or not, the Who recorded several other songs worth hearing in addition to "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Baba O'Reilly". Enough already. And the Kinks, the Shangri-Las, Nancy & Lee, Scott Walker, Kraftwerk and many others were every bit as classic and as rock as the few dinosaurs on so-called classic rock playlists, so play them, damn it!
And dis hip hop all you want. Suckas not gettin' it don't make it any less fun.
I never said Country was the end-all... it's not.. I like a huge variety of music and Hip Hop/R&B makes up probably 30% of my collection.
Personally, I like Alternative the best.
Now that I've cleared that up, Chandler, for the record will you please list your musical qualifications for us. Here are mine - I've been a professional musician for most of my life, I play about 6 different instruments including keyboards and woodwinds, played in a variety of rock and jazz bands for many years, was a church organist for over 20 years, and also sang professionally (and still do as a volunteer) so I think I'm fairly well qualified to judge who is or isn't a skilled vocalist. What's your musical expertise?
FONDL: Speak to me. I am not talented like you but I love to experiment with different music. I have 4,783 music files by 248 different artists. Burning CD's for my friends is a hobby. Some porn too. I have songs in as many different languages as you can think of. I did play trumpet for awhile. Raul di Blasio from Argentina is without a doubt the greatest piano player I have ever heard. Andreas Vollenweider, A German plays the electric Harp. I wonder how many on here have even heard an electric harp. BOND. I am not talking James. This group of 4 girls from Australia leads the top of the charts in the U.S. for classical music. And they aren't hard to look at either. Gipsy Kings from France are the hottest group to ever tour the U.S. from France but they do sing in the Spanish gypsy dialect. All of there concerts in Atlanta have been sell outs. Alabina sings in Arabic, English, and French and have done several songs with the Gipsy Kings. Hiroshima - great jazz. Steve Stevens - best Guitar player. Slagerij van Kampen - best drumb artist. Hugh Masekela _ South African Jazz.Yes I also have all of the in crowd. Britany and who ever but I keep reaching out for the unknowns. The ones that just play pleasing music.
Here are mine: I have ears, and I love music.
Thank God we don't all enjoy the same music! Could you imagine music with NO variety?
You mean mainstream country, i.e., what's performed on these awards shows? Give me outlaw country, alt-country, Americana, classic country, but not mainstream country.
