From time to time I have seen mention on here about paying for the use of booths in strip clubs. 99% of my recent strip club visits have been to clubs in the S.E. and I have never seen one here.
most of the places that I have been to that have booths are more small semi private rooms with a curtain usually pretty see through, no doors or anything.
The standard price for a booth in Detroit is $20. I once offered a bouncer $10 for a booth since it was dead inside and he told me the price was set and not negotiable. I just sat at the bar instead.
Also saw Deja Vu Toledo having signs mentioning $20 for a booth.
My experiences with booths are mixed. You do get more attention from the girls sometimes and it feels more private to talk extras with them at a booth instead of at the bar with other people around.
Shadow, there are 2 types of booths in Detroit that I'm familiar with. The first is a booth for seating in the main part of the club as opposed to sitting at a table or at the bar. These booths are usually plush and comfortable seating set against the wall, and there is usually a $20 fee for sitting at the booths. I don't waste my money on them. I prefer to sit at a table right by the stage.
The second booth is a small private room, usually with a curtain but sometimes with a real door, in which lap dances are performed. The privacy of the booth is what allows extras to be so common in Detroit--or so I'm told.
My club has booths with the veiled curtains. Very dim lighting but they also have cameras. The veteran dancers know the angles for the maximum 'extras' even though BJ's and FS don't happen, your hands (and hers) can wander more than the rules allow. $50 for 5 abbreviated songs, which is a pretty good deal.
One club in Kansas City has private VIP rooms @ $200/30min. But that is for dancer {$100 - $130] and [remainder to] club. Rooms are partitioned with open ceiling, contain a comfortable couch, small fan, and end table with lamp. Curtained off from hallway but with minimal traffic. Cameras are mounted in the high ceiling not in the room. Club not known for ITC extras but max 2-way depending on dancer.
One club in KS charges $10 for VIP pass to individual curtained off areas; some other MO & KS clubs charge $10 - $20 for VIP ROOM admission.
Deja Vu in Rancho Cordova CA was the first place I saw that "rented" booths. Otherwise in my experience I've seen them only available with bottle service or a minimum ($100+) bar tab.
I think all the booths that Slick is referring to have been dead for sometime now. You probably don't have to worry about them anymore. Maybe a little more so if you're closer to Washington, DC.
In the city, most of the clubs that don't serve alcohol have "private" booths, where of course actual privacy varies (including at least two clubs that have hidden video cameras in their booths). In most cases, the customer pays into a machine in the booth -- this is to get around rulings that money paid directly to the dancer is a tip. Basically, the customer rents the booth for (say) 15 minutes by paying (say) $100 into the booth meter.
Shadowcat when Follies is slow wonder down the 0.5mi to Pink Pony. They have booths now! Booths like you would see in a restaurant, not booths like those scummy adult theater places in the 80s. The remolded PP has the booths near the back bar. They are not private, but give you feel of being in your own space. During the day anybody can sit there, during the night they are reserved for the high rollers with bottle service only.
I guess you should have clarified whether you were asking w.r.t. booths for sitting or booths for getting dances.
In my area (Miami); some clubs have VIP sitting areas but they are just an area set aside where one pays extra to sit at but the furnishing is not necessarily different – i.e. I haven’t seen booths per se.
w.r.t. dancing booths; some clubs have them around here and they are used for the $25 LDs vs $10 floor dances – and some clubs make you buy a wristband to use the dance booths.
Uncle Harry's in SAV has booths for private dances but you don't pay for the use separately. The dancer gives the manager $ as she takes you in.
However, what is the difference in paying the stripper $30 and her paying $10 for the booth, couch, or where ever she dances for you and you paying the stripper $20 and the management $10?
This same thing always throws me off. You northerners (I realize Atlanta is southern, but its north of Miami) call VIP what we call Champagne rooms. We usually have "general admission" which is basically any old seat/table/etc; "reserved seating, aka booths or VIP" that you pay to use unless you are a celebrity (lots of places include them with bottles or sell memberships that entitle you to their use); "Lap dance seating" which is a separate area away from the floor but not completely private, paid for per song; and "Champagne Rooms" which are generally in a separate area with at least a curtain. Some places have something between a lap dance and a champagne room that's more secluded and paid for in real time, but not totally private.
Different terms for the same thing I guess. A loveseat with a curtain and open top. Doesn't really seem like a "room". A room to me has an actual door.
In both cases there's often cameras and the door or curtain may be see through.
I've been to a few Rhino clubs that have plush segregated booths that they often charge a fee to occupy, especially during peak hours. But usually during a slow dayshift or weekday evening you & your dancer can sit there for free.
I have read about in reviews of guys who pay to sit in booths and then 1 hour later get told they have to leave unless they continue to spend money on drinks/food. I would avoid these types of places on the busy nights.
At Club Desire in Providence the booths are a small cubicle with a door and a bench seat for $25, full contact topless, or $35 full contact nude. The CR's (Champagne rooms) are a far larger cubicle with a two seat couch, table with lamp and a door that closes for total privacy. Other than knock on the door and announce times up I have yet to see a bouncer come close to a door since I have been going. In Providence we call fingering the dancers an air dance.
shadow, in most strip clubs that have individualized VIP setups, the only difference between a "booth" and a "room" is that the former has a curtain and the latter has a door and may be a touch bigger.

Wonder how many people got that!
