Report on violence in Lexington KY strip clubs.
I agree there is not enough detail to really say if these clubs are that bad. You would need to see numbers for popular dance clubs and a separate set of numbers for just bars to see if these clubs were any more or less dangerous than other establishments. I also refuse to blame underemployment/poverty. Where I grew up in rural Michigan lots of people were under employed and poor. I grew up wearing hand me downs and the family vehicle was always a used car. Most of the people I knew were in similar situation, almost none of them were violent jerks. We had a few morons around, they were almost exclusively alcoholics or drug abusers. Same thing for theft, there are lots of honest, hard working poor people.

Dwayne Johnson as the GOP candidate in 2024
You should look at the campaigns of Herman Cain and Sarah Palin. The media does not care if the Republicans run a female or a minority candidate. They won't suddenly be afraid to lie about them or criticize. There is no benefit to picking a candidate for the republicans based on anything other than communication skills and performance. Nikki Haley has communication skills, but I'm not convinced she was the best performing governor of those we could choose from.

    Twitter conspiracy theory
Musk just placed a huge stake in Twitter not long ago and made a bid for a board seat. The Twitter execs talked with him, and they made an announcement that he refused due to a background check requirement. He might have made some vague statements then about buying the place. It looks like he wants to make changes in the Twitter platform and they don't. https://www.salon.com/2022/04/11/elon-musk-abruptly-reverses-plan-to-join-twitter-board-amid-background-check-_partner/

I believe looking up the word "Frenulum" will explain why tongue piercings have the potential to enhance the job in question.

Maybe Putin has good reason to be paranoid. Under Biden's old boss the US said the same things and sat on the sidelines for several months until the talk of war crimes and atrocities came up and voted with other UN security council members to begin the bombing campaign in Libya. Later we did the same thing in the Syrian civil war. Sitting out, talking tough, until we decided to join in. Yes Assad is still there thanks to the Russians. But Obama's VP is now president. Putin could easily be concerned that Ukraine will be round 2 of the Syria debacle. With Ukraine, we have been sitting out and talking tough. Now the war crimes and chemical weapons talk is coming up. Going to the UN has been mentioned. Regime change has been mentioned. If Putin has been paying attention to our history....

Back in the 90's there was some song, the chorus line of which was "Stroking!". But clearly it got played a lot. At least where I was in TX.

I find it interesting that the IRS can actually reach in to your bank account and take back what they're owed under existing law. If Janet Yellen already knows where all this money is I'm sure the IRS does too. So why haven't they? If they actually had numbers and numbers they would have done it. What Yellen and Khanna are doing is posturing. They use their status to throw out some BS. You fall for it. And then you demand that people like Khanna go out and raise taxes based on your erroneous belief that this was just about collecting taxes already owed. Whatever loop holes are in the tax code were put their on purpose by members of Congress. If it were actual tax evasion the IRS would seize the assets under their already very extensive powers. Doubt me? File some bullshit IRS form alleging you deserve a bunch of money back and see what happens for yourself.

    Luxury Goods & the Pandemic
For the watches/liquor/cigars market the Stimulus checks might account for some of that one time splurge. But above that limit it would have to be longer term income effects.

Has anyone ever been any experience with this website?
The Arab nations have a thing about marriages. There is a concept called a "Wife of convenience". An interpreter explained it to me on my first deployment to Iraq. It's a convenient little loop hole they carved out for themselves. The website is probably trying to leverage that. And no, I never tried to leverage it for myself.

    Stubhub Refund - FINALLY
I paid over 2K for my oldest kid's EF tour to Central America for his senior year in high school just about three months before it all hit thefan, which turned out to be his senior year out of high school. They just recently announced they would do some partial refunds. I assume there was a lawsuit. Or several. What a messed up year.... I have issued several memorandums banning covid at my home. I figure it can't be any less effective than our leaky masks...

    Why college is so expensive.
Yep, if they can keep you for the full ride to a doctorate in whatever that is 8 years at least depending I think on the career field. And since the government foots the bill for pretty much anything the incentive is to get them and keep them. Luxury dorms, great food, beautifully landscaped campus, and the constant feeling that you are excelling. The other thing corporations and the government did was to make Bachelor's degrees the new HS diploma. How many places want at a bare minimum a BS or BA degree, but would really prefer an MA or MS? How many people think they HAVE to get one or they will be nowhere in life? So if you grade a little too high above the average, you are being mean and destroying their chance to get a good job. It's almost like the idea of excellence over mediocrity as a virtue has faded away. More important is that you have checked the right boxes...

Is it ok to enjoy a few drinks when driving?
I almost always keep my drinking low key if I even drink at all. On rare occasions I have drank beyond the limit I intended to keep. I always find an Uber or a cab (back in the day) because it ain't worth the risk. And if I ever became responsible for the death of another person I would feel horrible. Staying sober at a club lets me personally enjoy things to the fullest, whereas the drunken buzz is just less real I guess. As to how many is too many that is an individual thing, body weight, how much you ate before, how quickly you drink the drinks, that all factors in.
