This place used to be full of high pressure russkis. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a club with more aggressive girls. Haven’t been back since pandemic though.

Headlights/parking lights on if you’re moving. Flashers if you are pulled over on the shoulder. Sometimes in low visibility you follow the guys taillights in front of you to stay in your lane. If they are flashing that should mean they are stopped and you don’t want to be lined up behind them. Idiots

Yes agree to all the above comments. As much as I hate to stereotype a whole nation I have never experienced an exception to the rule that EE girls are no fun.

Comparing states and cities on masks alone may miss the point. There are studies that claim to correlate spikes with relaxing local mask mandates but I don’t believe them either. There are many factors. I think some states like CA and NY and WA that had huge spikes in the cities last year must be experiencing an effect of partial herd immunity by now. Someone reported 1/3 citizens of LA were likely already infected by Dec 2020. If so, that alone is going to slow the progression I would think. Not enough to end it but slow it. It seems to have plateaued in a lot of those early hotspots. I wasn’t watching Detroit last year, did they spike near the numbers on the coasts? Are they just catching up and burning through what coastal cities already suffered? I always thought this thing was going to have to do a certain amount of burning through the population before it slows down. I’m just pissed off today reading about more anti-vaxxers. Idiots who think their solidarity with republican leaning wing nuts and “owning the dems” is more important than public health. The “oppression” drama is just stupid. The preamble to the constitution explicitly says that its purpose and by extension the purpose of government is to promote the general welfare. There is nothing more common-sense than using the power of government to stop a virus outbreak which may require people to get jabbed with a needle or wear a mask. We kicked smallpox and polio this way. It wasn’t optional. It was mandatory. I’m much more concerned about people who want to control information with an unholy combination of surveillance and censorship than I am about people that want to control public health.

As with most of the shit out in the media today the truth is somewhere in the middle. Yes masks are not 100%. They aren’t blocking particles below a certain size but apparently a lot of virus is contained in larger droplets of moisture that is blocked somewhat. So they are not nothing not are they everything and I agree we are erring on the side of too much mask. Especially outdoors and in combination with distancing. It’s over the top a lot of the time. The bigger concern I have is how to unring the overdone fear mongering as the vaccines and natural immunity kick in. How are we king to convince enough of the hand wringers that the schools need to open fully? If it means full day with masks I support it even though it’s overkill. If the theatrical quality gets things closer to normal let’s wear masks like morons or Japanese commuters.

I always think I don’t like that fake look too but then I catch myself turning my head when one walks by. Sometimes I remind myself of a trout watching a fake lure go by. I can’t help it.

Kamala, you're FIRED!
We’ve always had shitheads beating up vulnerable people. Nothing new, not saying it’s not happening, but I do think it’s a new favorite narrative for the media and it seems Asian activist groups are getting louder as of a few years ago, suing over college admissions being the other example that comes to mind. Could be that they’re making sure they get more notice. I don’t mind, complain, it’s not right. Assholes shouldn’t be knocking down old ladies no matter their background.

Is it going to like the unconstitutional “equity” performance art on vaccines? The focus on equity has kept the vaccination rate lower than it could have been because of the need for dems to ensure doses were on hand in neighborhoods where people don’t want them.
I get the history of housing in 20th century America, especially chicago. It’s embarrassing and horrific all around. I just wonder how many new units actually get built while the city is trying to buy land and get permits and public comment for projects in winnetka or glencoe. (Never going to happen) I hope they balance this with the need to get some shit built pronto and not just have it as a talking point so pols can posture as class warriors (ala AOC) without actually delivering anything.

There’s a gorgeous blonde dancer who went way out and it actually works. Ill look for a pic but she did something hanging below the tits as well as some stuff higher on the sternum as well as some stuff around the face. It definitely sets her apart but also makes me think there’s some self-harm or mutilation aspect in her subconscious.

As a lifelong republican I find it embarrassing that the party leadership priority has been on limiting the vote with very little to no work on policies and messages that attract a bigger tent. I wasn’t a huge fan of W Bush as president but his campaign was better at that.
Lots of common sense people of all backgrounds could be swayed to elect common sense republicans. But they have to play the positive side not just block votes from neighborhoods they lose in. They need to dive in there and convince people why they should be elected. The regular voters don’t change much but the ones who don’t vote often are more persuadable. Instead they take on these non-issues and open them selves up to be tarred as racists.

Forgot to mention masks are required “except when taking a drink” and it seemed in the main room all complied. That’s also why I didn’t pick up on the girl’s age until late in the game. The mask works to her advantage.

And many doctors predict this virus will never go away but like SARS and H1N1 it will become part of the seasonal flu soup that circulates every year and kills some people every year. I hate anti-vaxxer nonsense but I also hate hand-wringers. The human race has always been kept in check by disease. We don’t like to think about that. We seem to be able to knock down most of the infectious diseases to a manageable level and now this one is one of those too. And we’ve always had forced vaccinations for schools. None of this is new. None of this is a big conspiracy. None of this is a bill of rights issue. We are just trying to find the balance where we get to keep as many people healthy as we can, at an acceptable level of inconvenience.
Antivaxxers have brought back measles and mumps outbreaks to the US. if they get any more traction we will have the same track record as Haiti or Somalia against infectious diseases.
