Usually we tip the DJ $20 or 10% of what we make... My tip out is generally in the $50-$100 range. Our weekend DJ makes about as much as most of the dancers on for that night,, but he only works 3 days a week.

@rickdugan - It's interesting that you would list single-motherhood along with things that are ACTUALLY problems. "Not only are many of them single moms..." Some women that get into stripping do have psychological/emotional problems and that they don't have any other options. Some women feel as if it's the best option at the time and some women just plain enjoy it. Just like some people become police officers because they want to protect and serve and others just want to feel like they have power and a big dick to swing around. You can't say that the majority of strippers are fucked up just because you go out of your way to deal with those that are and you feel as if you can get more bang for your buck. I agree with @zipman: indirectly contributing to a problem and directly, knowingly contributing and exacerbating a problem are two entirely different things.

I think he may just be a bad person, there are no lines. Where I think a line should be drawn is probably a place that most people here would see as a starting point for OTC negotiations. Strippers might be fucked up and stripping might not be the best life choice, but GOD DAMN have I met some less-than-stellar examples of human beings that a lot of people would consider "successful".

Some people just don't understand how strip clubs work. Those are the people that say things like, "If you were my girl, you wouldn't NEED to dance here because I'd give you all the attention you want!" (What?) or "Do you ever meet guys from here? Like, do you work here to meet guys? To date?" (...What?) or my personal fave "I don't do dances, but I'd love to take you out to dinner!" Somewhere, there's a contingency of girls in their early-to-mid 20s that are apparently hermits and have to resort to working at strip clubs to meet men in middle management to take them to Applebees.

It happens about as much as it happens in any other work environment. To wit, one of our old managers was really cute and he and I were talking for a little while. The better looking floor men hook up with dancers and as far as I know no one fucks the DJs because they're despicable human beings (except for one, he's cool). At our sister club the DJ is married to one of the dancers and has been for the last 7 or 8 years. Lastly, the owner used to be married to the GM.
