I appreciate all your kind and not-so-kind words, guys and gals. 2 things:
1) I’m a big boy, been clubbing for many years, and I know that many girls laugh behind my back, and it’s all ok, I won’t go postal or anything.
2) The stories I tell are true, and I really have these experiences occasionally. Much more often I have dud experiences, but I don’t write about those, so if you follow my reviews, it sounds like I’m in la-la-land 24/7.

Thanks for all the attention! Revealing her name when I tell such a hot story would be rude and inappropriate, as noted by one adjudicator. It seems to me that my MO in stripper navigation would make the OP’s question pointless. In my world, in order to have a 10 experience, the girl has to be turned on by me, and I have to be turned on by her. A 10 in appearance probably won’t be turned on by me without some long-time (3-4 meetings) cultivation, and a 6 would never turn me on.
So what I would do is avoid the 6, but cultivate a friendship with the 10, being generous to her in VIPs, complimenting her genuinely, tipping her just for sitting with me, etc., and if the relationship grows to where she is turned on by me, then I’ll have my 9-10 experience with a 9-10 girl. I have been using this MO for years, and while expensive, it works rather amazingly! I relate to this problem very closely, I run in to it all the time. I tend to develop lightweight relationships with the girls I like, and I'm quite giving and generous to them, so it often happens that a girl I once was closer with is now on the back-burner, but she's still very interested, so it can get very sticky.
What I've started to do lately is when I'm building the friendship, I'll tell the girl occasionally that if I ever come in and want to see someone else, it's not because I don't like you anymore, it's because as much as I like you, I sometimes want variety anyway. Most girls are quite OK with that (after all, they know that I'm not exclusive, just as they aren't). So when the club is slow, none of my real favorites are around, and I'm particularly randy, I can always go back to them for some dances or a VIP or whatever for that day (i.e. I didn't burn any bridges). Sometimes, when I try to develop a relationship with a very hot girl, but she remains non-forthcoming in the dances, I break the relationship by politely telling her that I'm really looking for more fun than she's willing to be. No girl is happy to hear that, and I get mixed reactions to this (sometimes the girl will even badmouth me to other girls in the club), but I never have to buy that girl a drink again.

I've done OTC a few times, and have never been in a situation where I was afraid of something. I tend to get close to the girls I like, and I will only take a girl OTC if:
we know each other and are quite comfortable with one another for quite some time;
I've had some serious fun with her ITC a number of times (not necessarily actual sex, but certainly the kind of fun where she gets to have some great orgasms);
there's no boyfriend;
she fully trusts me and I trust her enough.
If you're dealing with worrying about getting shot or stabbed, you have to be pretty fucked up to do it no matter how hot she is!

I know many very hot strippers, and I'm quite close with most of them, and I can testify that they lead the same sorry lives we all lead, nothing glamorous or wealthy. I thought about it for quite a few minutes before I wrote this, but I can't recall a single hot friend whose life is peaches and cream.
I know one lady, already in her 30's, who works at 4-Play in West LA. She's quite hot, but not really. I've seen some interesting situations due to rude rough PLs. One time in DJV COI, a guy was at the stage and grabbed the dancer's pussy when it got close. He was a big fellow, but thankfully the bouncer was a better fighter (trained), because when the bouncer yelled at him to stop, he stood up and took a couple of swings at him. If you read some of my reviews, you'll see that I'm a big fan of DATY in a private VIP ITC. Not all clubs realize it, but a pretty waitress is a tremendous asset, especially when she is sweet and personable, too. Guys who come to strip clubs like to feel welcome, and good about themselves (that's mostly why they're there, their personal sex life partners don't make them feel great about themselves lol). A cheery, caring hello from a hot youngster goes a long way, especially with a guy who actually has no problem spending some money at the club, but just needs to be gotten into the mood. If a good rapport is established between waitress and patron, he's more likely to buy some girls a drink, heck, he might even buy the waitress a drink!
I have gotten friendly with many pretty waitresses in strip clubs, and I find that their reasons for not dancing are very varied, as most of you guys have stated here. For a hot, high-mileage girl, dancing will usually get her more $$$, though not without its share of serious unwelcome drama, but for a typical more conservative hot young thing, she could do better waitressing, which has a small salary and the potential for tips if she's personable and wise.

It seems we all agree that this list is rather ridiculous. The question is, though, what are some USEFUL and INTELLIGENT rules for attending Strip Clubs? Let me try a couple:
1. Always be polite and gentlemanly when interacting with a dancer you don't know well yet.
2. When sitting at the rail, tip every dancer (or don't sit there). Some clubs have this rule themselves.
3. If you're tipping at the stage and you like the dancer, be generous.
4. If you have a bad experience with a dancer, don't make a fuss, just walk away from it without arguing or getting angry (even if it costs you some cash!).
Any opinions? Any additions?

Here in LA there are all types of mileage, but there's certainly ultra-high mileage if you know where and how to find it. My experience is that it depends on a) the rules of the club, and b) the girl's own rules/preferences/taboos/etc.
For example, I got pretty high mileage a couple of times from some very hot girls in The Body Shop (Beverly Hills), where the rules are pretty stiff, and the girls were soon gone (when I asked, the management was very vague) [BTW if anyone knows what happened to Aqira/Megan and Hazel from The Body Shop, I'd like to know]. Then, I generally get ultra-high mileage (69, fucking) in a certain club in Anaheim from the girls who are willing, but from those not willing, I get basically nothing. Same thing from a certain club in Van Nuys, where I get air from some girls, and actual fucking and/or 69 from others.
So I guess it all depends...

I’m glad you enjoyed yourself, Zonnay is very hot, but a businesswoman to a fault and to her detriment. You probably would enjoy Chanel, an AA hot one with massive jugs, usually not my thing, but so sexy on her. If you like petite and sweet, Jada is a great choice, she’s IMO too beautiful for the SC scene, but if she likes you she’ll be great with you. About the drink pressure, I usually don't mind buying a girl a drink after sitting with her for a while. The money goes to the dancer, not the club (i.e. the girls need to "sell" 6 large drinks each shift they work, or pay for them themselves), so you're basically giving her a tip for entertaining you. But when they approach after a few seconds, I always wave them away, since the dancer has not earned a tip at that point.
