Eviction / Homelessness Crisis and the Pandemic
Icee mentions the elderly and disabled being unable to pay rent or mortgages due to the pandemic. Retirement and disability benefits from both social security, welfare programs, and private sector continued throughout the pandemic. Section 8 benefits and public housing were not shutoff during this time either. SNAP benefits continued. There is no logic to this part of Icee’s argument. Icee had a point regarding the working poor during the time the Democrat governors shut their state’s down. However, now, there are millions of jobs out there right now, including minimum wage and much higher paying jobs. Here in the low-pay South (with a low cost of living which some people who have little or no experience with love to vilify), my employer’s lowest paying jobs are in the mid twenty thousands/year and.we have a revolving door on those jobs because employees with a high school education are getting better paying jobs elsewhere.

Obvious attempts at manipulation like what you are proposing rarely end well. I agree with the recommendations to spend money with whomever gives you the best dances. If your business is important to the others, they will up their game. I suggest you let it be their decision without any manipulation on your part and you will get the best dances available.

    Another school shooting
There was a significant series of failures by law enforcement in the Parkland School shooting. Over 20 visits by law enforcement to murderer''s house. School resource officer waiting outside while people are being murdered inside the school building. A possible partial solution to the problem is to provide emergency hearing and order procedures to detain an individual and confiscate firearms and place them on the background check list when an individual makes threats to kill or cause bodily harm to others. This could include vague and generalized threats. Many of these individuals give plenty of warning before they murder. This would avoid depriving people who are old enough to serve in the military and vote part of the Bill of Rights.

    Is it racist?
It is not racist. The next step is these pc types will be telling us it is racist to date or marry people with same skin color. Maybe I prefer white dancers, maybe I prefer black dancers. Since when did these pc types have a right to use the heavy hand of government to dictate who we think is hot? At least not yet...

Trump's First Month: How's He Doing?
A couple of rookie mistakes so far, but otherwise he is doing better than several of our previous Presidents. He is moving forward with his promised agenda unlike several who made promises they never intended to keep. He won't get to do everything he promised due to opposition from several nefarious beasts whose lairs are hidden in the muck of the cess pit that Washington DC has become. I do have hopes that he will be able to accomplish several of the reforms he promised. Maybe we won"t be as badly ripped off by the military industrial complex about which President Eisenhower warned us. (IMHO, we need a strong military but we have been ripped off for decades by military and other contractors.) It is disappointing to see the vicious attacks by the extreme left for enforcing laws that have been on the books for decades. By the way, the United States Codes refers to people from other countries who are here illegally as "illegal aliens". It is a correct legal term to refer to their status.

OT: Crisis deepens as Trump floats 20 pct tax on Mexico goods to pay for wall
Brinksmanship. Both Trump and Nieto are posturing right now. With the current trade deficit Trump has the stronger hand to play. Trump's modus operandi is to make outrageous statements to put some fear of consequences with whomever he is negotiating with, obtain concessions and then all of a sudden become more reasonable to seal the deal. This approach usually allows him to achieve significant results . Occasionally it will blow up in his face when he misjudges his adversary. He should be able to obtain some good concessions if he doesn't blow it.

OT: Trump seemingly following thru even if Republicans don't agree
Random, IMO I agree with you, if there are no series of replacement bilateral trade agreements with several of the countries in the TPP. The problem with agreements such as TPP is it dilutes our country''s ability to take advantage of the strengths and weaknesses inherit in our trading relationships with each of these countries. In these large trade agreements it seems to me, it becomes a situation of the larger economy negotiating with a block of smaller economies. If it comes to a trade war everyone loses. The situation is they currently have more to lose than we do so I just hope the President knows how far to push without going too far with it. Then maybe we can have a biggly improvement in our trade deficit that might be classified as huuuuuge...maybe almost as big as his hands. If not, he may be needing to ask Marco if he can borrow some water in a debate 4 years from now...

I am taking a wait and see approach. Our leaders have betrayed the American worker. China has taken advantage of the weak leadership that we have had. We may end up with some much more equitable trade agreements. Our current President, like him or hate him, is bargaining from a position of strength. In dealing with foreign governments who are not our friends and are in competition with us, one has to posture and make those governments uncomfortable and fearful of the consequences in order to obtain equitable trade. Trump may be smarter than you think...or some of you may be right and he may be an idiot. I am going to wait and see. My take is, as always, for the next four years we don't have a choice but to watch and do what we can to protect ourselves from the decisions made in Washington.

Is this TUSCL or The Lonely Hearts Club?
Lust only. I keep the affiliation with the dancers in the club. The vast majority of them will leave you broke with a broken heart if you let them into your life. Granted there are some dancers out there that wouldn't, but I know I don't have the skill to tell the difference between a consummate con artist and the real deal before significant damage would be done. For those here that have the innate sense to tell the difference and can play that game - kudos to you. Enjoy and good luck!
