Do you ever get a massage?
Speaking only about the clubs I've worked in, they tend to get raided on Thursday or Friday afternoons or on a busy night. For some reason I've never heard of a vice cop doing a raid on a Sunday day or night shift, perhaps they don't work Sundays in the clubs. I'm a professional teaser, so I tease. I actually really hate it when guys think that my massages are sexual or push me for it. My massages are professional and therapeutic. I guess that the best advice I can give is to find someone who isn't a licensed therapist. Do not bother with an escort for massage because they are lousy. The difference is in having a boyfriend, these massages are sensual. After massaging my last boyfriend, I asked him how the massage was. He said it's great, but you neglected a muscle. Off of my table then and into a more comfortable environ.

Thank you for your replies. There were many new things that I learned and I'm actually glad that no one responded to the beastiality suggestion. I'm learning what my own boundaries are and felt weird after I asked that question.

Do you ever get a massage?
Giving a wonderful, therapeutic massage is a lot of work. It may not seem like it because it feels so good. For a professional MT, the getting balanced with your energy is very important. We keep our energy clean, so we can concentrate and really do some healing. I can understand why your friend got pissed, it's because we're always trying to fight the stereotype of a slutty massage therapist. I like playing with energy. In the club, if I like the guy I'm with I can get off. In the massage, I have a completely different kind of energy. One way I can try to help you understand the energy focus is as follows (and this may not work because it's a sexual analogy). I don't like 69 ing because it's difficult for me to fully experience pleasure while I'm concentrating on giving my lover pleasure. I love him doing me or visa-versa but it gets complicated and distracting when in a 69. Massage is sometimes almost a spiritual experience if your therapist can really focus in on you in a healing way and you can let go and really recieve the massage. If you're going to do something sexual, perhaps it should be after the massage or just be sex. I know that this probably is difficult for you to follow. As far as the raid goes. It involved alleged city council corruption, bribery and crimes committed across state lines (California and Nevada).

In response to davids question about what strippers think about management. In one club the managers are good, they do their job, everyone makes money and it's usually fun. At another club, there's a person who supposedly counts your dances and everyone elses as well. We end up tipping out on 35 to 40% of what we make. This is bearable if we're doing well, but even if we don't make money we have to beg, borrow or steal (from our own wallets) $25 to escape. I've only had to do this once. There was another time when the counter miscounted and wanted to extract more money from me - I refused. I like it when the club leaves us alone as much as possible.

    Why I hate TV
I had a friend help me put my televisions in storage last week. It's too easy to turn it on and zone out. I was kind of addicted to the news after 9/11, but am discusted with tv now. I may take one of them out to watch the olympics. I get way too into football and my stomach gets in a knot when my team loses. I know a few ball players. It's tough when they just miss making into the play-offs.

How to take a vacation from a "regular"
I agree with davids advice, "be honest and upfront". Tell the girl that you like her but want to dances with other girls. Some of these dancers really work the guys. One of my colleagues saw a guy I had an appointment with and chased him out of the club before I could dance for him. She felt that she owned him and that he should only get dances with her. He called me twice apologizing for leaving. He said that she gave him an anxiety attack because he was just trying to be nice and she wouldn't take no for an answer. Later on he told me that her anger and jealously reminded him of RoseAnne Barr in the movie "She Devil". He asked me to please call him when she wasn't working so he could come in and get dances. If you set things up right in the beginning with a non-exclusive approach you'll be happier. If you decide that you want to be exclusive with her later you can change your mind.

One of the posters mentioned a bouncer threatening him in a club. The bouncers in many of the clubs are ex-cons and are sometimes high when they are working. Some are cool, but others are purely nasty, not well educated and are one strike away from being locked up for their third strike.

Do you ever get a massage?
Yoda, getting fully relaxed then getting off is extremely pleasurable. I think that the reason some women (not me) don't climax is because they are not relaxed enough to let go. The nudity is fine with me as I am a nudist. I just don't want my nudity to distract the person receiving (massage) because I want him/her to fully enjoy the experience without anticipation of anything else. I guess that's why there are only a few people I can massage nude. I'm told that a bare nipple traced along a body during massage is erotic (my teasing is alive!). In summary, if I can massage nude, perfect, but I want to be able to concentrate on the massage. I never thought about rearranging the draping as being stimaluating. FONDL, would you be able to relax and fully receive a massage if you and your beautiful, spiritual friend were both nude? In your ideal massage would there be foreplay; if so you would need to have your MT comfortable with that. I have a feeling that it wouldn't be difficult to put you in the "boyfriend category".

Do you ever get a massage?
Twater, what a funny manipulation of my name. Honestly, this was cute! I had to look up FBSM, couldn't find it, then figured it out. The massage Yoda describes sounds perfect. I never even knew about a manual release until a fellow massage therapist guy told me about it and said, "they didn't teach you this in school?" He used to massage me but then he'd try to go down on me and sometimes I just wanted a massage and I didn't want to feel like he was "going to swoop at any moment". I've had lots of fun massaging different people. I massaged twin actors. They told me that they wanted a massage the next day too so that they could learn how to massage each other (it never happened). At the time they were appearing in a car commercial. I massaged someone who owned the most expensive house in La Jolla at the time (4 years ago). I had an 82 year old lady try to come onto me. She told me that she wanted a bikini wax. I was in nursing school at the time and thought, great she'll have a reaction to the chemical and I'll end up in the ER with her facing one of my instructors or classmates. I never did it, but she had more $$$ than God and left it to strangers. I really love massage because it's a way of expressing and connecting with people through touch and nuturing that we often don't get in our hectic, technical. hurry up, faster, drive-through society.

Why do you see so many cops in clubs?
I don't really know how to spot a cop. I usually feel around their waistline while acting like I'm just hugging them and I feel down their legs for a gun. Off duty cops carry guns. I've talked with lots of girls who have been cited for dirty dancin' and they all tell me that they couldn't tell the dude was a cop. The lady cops almost always have bangs and they wear their hair pulled back.

Why do you see so many cops in clubs?
Cops are, in theory, not supposed to touch the dancers. When a guy I'm dancing for touches me on my ass or moves towards my breasts I figure that he's probably not a cop. It's good to start rubbing the thigh or somewhere else first, then progress. Yoda: there is one extremely sensual dancer, S****a, who is very good I'm told. Wear the nice shoes if you want to (sorry I forgot your name). Clean man, nice clothes & shoes = better chance of dirty dancin'.

Stripper with the most unusual skill or attributes
I went to a few clubs in San Francisco with a boyfriend. Crazy Horse was really wild! They had a feature dancer/porn star that positioned herself on top of a theatre type seat a few inches from a patron and used toys and at one point pulled beads and other things out of her very accomodating cavity. It wasn't a turn on - just weird. I'd like to see the ping-pong or smoking routine though.

    VIP wrist band
I don't like wearing a wrist band/bracelet or getting a hand stamp in a club - it seems demoralizing or "Hitleresque". The wristband reminds me of a hospital ID and the remark about being tagged like an animal is hilarious! The idea of getting half-priced dances is good though and you can always remove the contraption later, although I'd refuse a hand stamp - I don't like to be inked or branded.

    Temporary job vs "career" stripper
I agree with FONDL and Yoda for the most part. I started dancing part-time to put myself through graduate school. At times I've quit for an entire semester because the school workload was too heavy and I needed to spend time with my child. I have just one project left to write then I'm done with school. Dancing in the right club is like a Neverland - it's fun, you get lots of attention, you spend time with friends and you can choose your own hours. It's hard to it give up and move on to a real job.

Doverman, I'd be more likely to talk to a guy who is wearing a wristband because it indicates that he wants or wanted to spend time in the VIP. I can usually tell just from saying "hello" to a guy if he's interested or not. I've developed a kind of sensitivity for who's interested and who's not.

    Why I hate TV
I think the reason I dislike TV so much is that my parents didn't buy one until I was 7 years old and I never really got into the habit of watching it until after 9/11/01. My parents could afford one but my dad thought of life as a mini-scale Monopoly game and was preoccupied with saving his money for the next property purchase and made us do w/o whatever was unnecessary. When we did get a TV, we kept it in the garage and took it out just to watch a few hours of TV a week. Mom took us kids to the library a couple times a week and we read a lot of books. Last night I saw 2 great movies, "Munich" and "Memoirs of a Geisha" (both directed by Steven Speilberg). I'm certain that each will be nominated for awards. I saw "The Producers" last week and it was good but of course not as good as the On Broadway performance I saw during my visit to Manhattan in July this last Summer. "Munich" is really intense and addresses terrorism like no other film I've seen.-T

    Temporary job vs "career" stripper
You guys have it figured out. Dancers quit because a man in their life doesn't want them dancing or they meet their academic objective and get a job outside the club. Dancing does get into your blood and you always think about going back, at least that's the case with me when I'm taking time off for my studies or to be with my child. Recently two dancers who still work a shift on the weekend got jobs as receptionists for attorneys (2 different attorneys) they met in the club. They like the work because they get medical and other 'full package' benefits, the men are respectful and the work isn't too demanding.

    Add-on service in your club
stpetedan, I worked at a topless club in Nevada which had real slot machines and alcohol. Sometimes the dancers would leave the club owing the owner money because they'd get advances for drinks and gambling. Gambling for fun, sounds like fun but does it take away from the dancing or add to the experience?

Do you ever get a massage?
Sometimes it's good to go to a massage school and get a massage from the students in the clinic. The cost is about half price and you can ask for someone who specializes in what you're interested in (swedish, deep tissue, shiatsu, accupcunture, reiki, hot stone therapy, sports, russian, reflexology, etc). The students will do a good job because you know that they have training and they want to get good feedback or reviews. Once you find someone you like you can get them to massage you at home. Having a massage at home is the ultimate 'cause you can just relax and not have to drive anywhere after the bodywork.

    Typical TUSCL life cycle
Hey guys, I might be annoying to some but I do enjoy the exchange with most posters on this site. Sometimes I forget and think that I'm one of the "guys" like when I was reading about the proposed meeting/convention at a SC somewhere, I actually wrote count me out as I'll be dancing in San Diego, (like I would even fit in at your convention). I post on this site because for the most part I love people, and social interaction. I'm a bit of a voyeur in life and a chameleon as well because I'm liberal and educated but usually dress very conservatively. People would not suspect that I'm a stripper if they met me outside the club. I lack the enhanced breasts, overdone makeup and never talk about dancing to others in public (just my closest friends, family and people in the business - and not in public). I'm supposed be writing my dissertation for school and one of the books I'm reading suggests that I write freestyle to bring me back to writing and getting over my writer's block. I grew up in La Jolla, attended modeling school, charm school (etiquette classes) and have earned scholarships, grant money & stippends for academic excellence. I don't consider myself to be better than anyone else or less than anyone and just enjoy the freedom to communicate freely and anonymously with y'all. Thanks for listening. -T

    Friends, one more time
FONDL, I think that all of your examples could be considered frienships that share an element of business. A friend is someone that I voluntarily spend my time with and look forward to seeing or hearing from. I feel like I'm missing out on some information though. Are you unhappy because you gave your friend a monetary gift or are you unhappy because you know that some of her other business relationships get a discount on their massage?

    Friends, one more time
Part 2: It doesn't matter if the friends are same sex or not and the age doesn't matter, in my opinion. If I don't like someone, then I don't make time for them. Being a former stripper is fine. It's good that people work and support themselves in a legal (mostly) occupation, then eventually move on and get another career. Because your friendship survived the switch from the club environ indicates that you genuinely enjoy spending time together. Are you unhappy with your relationship?
