I actually agree with the post. That’s why many like Trump on this issue. Deep down he personally may or may not be for the hardline no exceptions stance he is taking, but in order to secure the borders with all these super bleeding heart libs he has no choice but to take that stance so the end result winds up a compromise. Keep in mind many of these illegals purposely come here to have children so they figure that even if they wind up separated their child, who by definition is a Citizen, has a chance at a better life. I can’t blame them, but at the same time many know the potential consequences of their actions.

Well the term Liberal is ambiguous. In most other countries Liberal means something more like Lassies Faire. Liberal means someone who is pro-unregulated business, pro dismantlement of traditional society.
Mostly as I know, in the US, Liberal was used with Hubert Humphrey and George McGovern, 1968 and 1972, the opposition to Nixon and people who it was hoped would end the war in Vietnam. Also it generally meant people who were pro-Civil Rights.
I strongly support this kind of Liberal thinking.
In 1988 Liberal was made into a dirty word, by Pat Robertson at the Republican Convention.
So now were here more about Progressives. Probably a better term.
I myself am a Radical Leftist. We have to change, we have to get beyond thinking which runs around things like the Work Ethic. We have to mitigate the Middle-Class Family because all it does is exploit children. We have to get to Social Democracy. We can't use the Mental Health System and Learning Disability Labels just because we won't have jobs for people. We can't use wars, or wars on drugs, or wars on immigrants just to create jobs and eat up resource surpluses.
And we can't run an economy for the stock market, when we are wreaking environmental disasters while failing to meet the most basic needs of some of our most vulnerable.

The way I look at it, both extremes of the political spectrum are all about control. Personally, I feel that freedom and liberty is what brought this country to be such a great place. The US has freed more people and brought more people out of poverty than any other country in history....and in just a couple of hundred years.

But look at all of the other forms of government throughout history....they end up giving a few people power over everyone else. Here, though it's waning with more and more government regulation, each and every person has the ability to work themselves up from the bottom, develop the better mousetrap and make themselves rich.
By comparison, look at what the great plans of government control of production have done to the people of the USSR, China, Cuba and now Venezuela. You end up with the same thing.....the government fucks up and those on the bottom pay with their lives. Oh....but in the US the wealthy elite have too much power.....it's the same shit in those countries. Do the high ups in the communist governments live like the little people or are they too special to have to suffer? Castro, the man of the people with his stupid uniform was worth billions when he died.....where was the redistribution of wealth there?

Nicole, our law does not allow indefinite detention. People have to either be charged and arraigned, or released, its like within one week or something like that. And at that arraignment the judge will have to sign off on the legitimacy of the charges. Minor child traveling with parents, crossing border, that is crime? I don't think so.
Most countries don't do stuff like this. And we did not either. Don't want to fill up our jails with people from other countries. Makes no sense. Makes the problems worse.
And then the refugees are fleeing from some pretty bad situations, like what has come about in Honduras after the US deposed its elected President.
