Why So Much Talk About Whales?

farmerart
Is it jealousy? Is it anger? Is it envy? Is it insecurity? Is it class warfare?

Whatever the reason, I find all this blather about whales to be more boring than all the OTC or 'Does She Like Me?' threads. It is a fact of life in any capitalist country that income distribution is unequal. If you want more income, do something about it. There is no 11th commandment that states: 'Thou shalt be poor forever.'

So, just deal with it. Quit all this whining.

Spoken well from the whale of the group :).

But to answer your question, I'm guessing jealousy and ego. It will always hurt when a girl walks off of your arm to grab another, even if you realize it's business. It hasn't happened to me yet, but I'm guessing that's how is feel about it.

Good for you being in the position you're in, and good for me for improving my situation beyond what it used to be.

I like whales. They help subsidize the clubs/strippers. Without them the price of pussy would go up for everyone else.

Its just another aspect of clubbing to discuss. Its no better or worse than some of the other topics that find their way here.

^ Exactly my thoughts. I wonder why the "blather" bothers some when it is clearly easy to simply skip those topics that offend thee so?

It could be intrique. People are curious im sure on how others can afford to drop thousands on some visits. Also probably a little healous as well. Or they may have been dropped for a whale.

From sime of the prices I see people claiming on here It makes me wonder what they consider a whale. Some wont pay over $200 for service. Thats extremely low in my book. I wont pay under 500 does that make me a whale in their book?

I dont know, all I know is the guy paying under 200 and the guy paying over 500 are both getting the same service. Its the quality that might differ, which is where the jealousy rears its head.

Well said Lionshare. I've been paying $500 for several years and began to worry that I'd been overpaying so I started shopping around and found plenty of sources if I wanted to pay less, but didn't like the quality. I still prefer filet mignon over ground chuck

Perhaps it's just me but I think there is a difference between a guy who drops north of $1,000 for what ever service he is seeking (call him a high roller) and a guy who harvests the talent in numbers, 3, 4, 5 girls or more creating a little harem of his own to lord over (call him a whale). Less than a grand is pedestrian IMO.

Personally I bear neither ill will and just consider it a reality of the club scene from time to time nothing more or nothing less. I do find the phenomena interesting though and having just witnessed a "C" grade personality like Pauly Shore in a club a couple days ago pull it off it is kinda top of mind right now.

Obviously "hot" is subjective, but the difference in quality is mind-boggling... at least from an aesthetic standpoint. I've seen girls that will have sex ITC for $100 and they're the kind of girls that I would not want to be seen in public with. Every time I read somebody bragging about "$100 pop" in someone's TRAILER I die a little inside.

Personally, I like whales. They make going to work awesome. The annoying people are the ones that tell me that they'll give me $50 for a BJ in VIP. The really pushy ones, that even when I say I don't do extras insist that I'm just trying to raise the price. I like to politely tell those people that I will gladly pay someone $50 to kick them in the dick.

I'm with Art. I don't mind whales. It's annoying to read reviews that say, "I couldn't get a dance with her all night because she was with some regular".

Some strippers might be dumb but they're not stupid.

I don't really mind welcoming her back if she's left me to take care of her other customers. It might suck a little when she leaves but I'm cool if she's polite about it.

"There will always be someone richer, stronger, younger, smarter and more handsome"

Bravo! Well said Che. I learned that a long time ago about strip club customers and it has made my clubbing a happier experience.

What did they say in Showgirls... "There will always be someone younger and hungrier coming down the stairs after you."

What sclvr said. I'll also lump them in with regulars in the sense that it's annoying when you can't get a particular dance because she's with one of them. Neither will ruin my night.

On one hand, it's jealousy. But then on the other hand, I think people are trying to assess why people are willing to put up with diminishing returns of value.

If I have $2k to spend, I'd rather take a flight to Tijuana and fuck several beautiful latin women (probably more than several), booze up for a few nights, and smoke some nice weed.

Some people spend $2k in one night just being a whale in a strip club.

I think I know what I prefer. .

I figure that if a dancer has made a decision to sit with someone else who's spending ridiculous money on her, then so be it. It's her decision. I won't go chase her down or beg for her attention. Plenty 'o fish in the sea.

Much props to Che. I agree wholeheartedly. I ain't whale status yet, but on my way. Maybe I'm a Porpise with a powerful penis. Anyways, my ATF knows me well and when she spots me, she moves on over to me with the quickness. She knows that I'll take care if her, no matter who's in the room. She's also a sarcastic bitch & I'm a sarcastic dick, so we see eye to eye. Khan!

Wait a minute. Isn't the RickyBoyDugan a whale? No? Well, how about a whale-wannabe? Maybe! Jealous of whales? Definitely! Has his own ego the size of a grey whale but not the accomplishments to match? Now that's definitely the RickyBoyDugan!

Any of those reasons &/or all of them. If you can't stand the HEAT, get out of the kitchen.

I don't consider myself a whale but sometimes in the past dancers may have acted like I was. I didn't even think I was spending that much money. I probably wasn't. If a club is slow and one or more dancers like talking to you, if she invites one or two friends over, you could have three dancers at your table. I try to avoid having too many dancers at my table especially if they all want drinks. I prefer they visit the whale first and get their drinks.

You never know what a dancer might be thinking. I might think I don't have much but if you blurt out something about how much is in one of your retirement accounts, dancers might think you are rich when you're thinking you are only about 20% there where you need to be before retirement. Young dancers don't usually seem to think about the kind of money they will need for retirement, especially if social security and Medicare are cut way back in twenty to thirty years or so when many young people will be looking towards retirement. Considering a large percentage of Americans have saved very little money for retirement, it doesn't take much to impress some dancers. Of course every once in a while you can run into a dancer looking for tips on stocks.

"Is it jealousy? Is it anger? Is it envy? Is it insecurity? Is it class warfare?"

All of the above. The nice thing about being a whale though, is that you get to ignore the non-whales without any adverse consequences at all...

Well said George.

Also, sometimes the time regulars or Whales get isn't solely the money. It's the way the dancer feels treated.

I think that it comes up so much simply because the concept is important in the context of strip club experiences. Whales can dramatically change dancer behaviors and incentives on a given night. Heck, in smaller clubs a single whale can dramatically alter the club experience for other customers.

In one small club that I used to frequent, I was a good catch on most nights for my favorites and would often have one of them sitting with me for hours. But when William (not his real name) visited the club, all bets were off. William was a local artist who hit it big and liked to spend accordingly. He used Benjamins for stage tips and spent easily $1,500+ plus on any dancer who caught his fancy. Needless to say, the girls focused upon him when he came in.

Now whining about this is absurd - it is what it is and anyone who clubs regularly just needs to learn to live with it. But there is nothing wrong with talking about it.
