Legally intoxicated?

What percent of the dancers you encounter do you think are legally intoxicated. Not sloppy drunk but, buzzed, judgement impaired….over the BAL of .01 ( or whatever it is)?
I would guess > 50% or more
First of all…. You’re hanging out in a bar for 4 or 5 hours…. It’s boring.
Second you’re a woman and presumably smaller than a guy. Probably about 2 drinks will get you there.
Third dudes are buying you liquor … or the bartender is ‘discounting’ your drink.
Fourth, ya got old dudes like me pawing at ya.
I would be fucked up All the time if I worked at a club…. or toke a fat blunt before I arrived.
I guess that’s one of the Benifits or hazards of the job depending on your perspective.

The one thing I can say about the Cuban dancers is that I have yet to see one drink alcohol or smoke a joint.

BAL of .01 ( or whatever it is)

In most states the legal limit for drivers is like 0.08% BAC, though I think Utah is the lowest at 0.05%. 0.01 is nothing, like few sips of a beer would do that to you.

I would guess 50% or more

Yeah, if I had to guess, on average 70%. If you're a regular drinker, 0.08 BAC is not really that drunk. Basically, if she's drinking at the club she's probably going to be legally drunk. A 120lb woman only needs 2-2.5 standard servings of alcohol to hit 0.08 BAC.

In places like Tijuana where strippers sell lady drinks, it's like 95%.

Anyway, I don't blame them. For all the reasons you mentioned. And hell, if my workplace had free booze in it I'd be legally drunk all the time too, not like wasted, but like the dudes on Mad Men.

or toke a fat blunt before I arrived

Yeah, many do. Like maybe not a majority, but I'd guess like 40% of all strippers are perpetually stoned. And unfortunately maybe like 5-10% on some kind of opiod.

I once had a stripper in New Orleans doze off in my lap during a dance. Bloodshot eyes, slurred speech. Definitely high on heroin that one.

@shadowcat That's an interesting observation. I wonder why. It's not a latina thing, the mexicanas of TJ are regularly stoned and drunk. I wonder why not the cubanas in ATL?

@RonJax2. I think the Cubans treat working in a strip club more like a vanilla job. Work 9-5 and try to make as much money as possible. Secondly they don't speak much English. So there is no point in buying them a drink and chatting before dances or VIP.

The Cubans who have their citizenship are less afraid to let on they indulge in weed or coke. They may abstain while their immigration status is precarious. They don't drink enough where it will impair their ability to earn. But all my Cuban favs will have a beer or a shot now and then.

100%

As far as Cubans. They love coke. It helps with the alcohol. They see it as an enhancement drug. Makes what they do more bearable. But that's pretty much why barely any girls can work sober.

The dumbest thing is the girls who do shrooms blues or get so high they just sit in the corner....

Meth is the worst drug for the club. Leads to the most violence

As to "legally intoxicated", I think 0.08% BAC is the non-hysterical legal level. If you skid in the rain, and hit a tree, you can get a DUI in many places if your BAC is not 0.00. Nanny-staters have lowered the BAC for a DUI with no accident to 0.05% or 0.04% in some jurisdictions. Under the 0.08% standard, you get more fatalities from speeding than from DUIs. So it's in the nanny state zone to make it lower.

Being unable to legally consent to sexual contact is not based on BAC. One of my favs told me she was raped as a teenager during a house party by a guy she thought was a friend, because she was too intoxicated to talk. She also got roofied at work once. Fortunately she threw up on the guy, which made him leave. She saw the security footage where the guy practically carried her into VIP like a rag doll. But the bouncers weren't paying attention. She quit dancing and worked as a cashier for a while after that. But she couldn't pay her bills on what that paid.
