I avoided indoctrination in the best way possible: majored in a hard science. Not that hard sciences can't be politicized, but it's damned obvious and easy to call out when they get into Lysenkoism. As a society, we need to de-sacralize higher education. We need to make it absurd for one to go $300,000 into debt for knowledge that you could just as easily acquire with the internet and a public library. We could forgive all student debt regardless of income (I'm sure Biden would love to buy votes this way), and we'd re-create the same problem in a decade. The problem is structural. We need to dismantle the university-financial racket that funnels them cash and keeps students debt slaves for life. We need to stop letting universities skate on "non-profit" status. Take a look at Harvard's financials and your jaw will drop. Yet they get so much favorable tax treatment from the government. We need to uplift plumbers, electricians, and welders as a society; they're skilled, useful jobs, not just the last resort of someone who couldn't get into Oberlin. Not only do the trades get you into gainful labor rather than making you a debt slave, but they're actually necessary for society to function while grievance studies majors tear it apart. We need to stop requiring bachelors' and even advanced degrees when the knowledge from such a program has no relevance to the job being offered. It's a lazy screening credential that keeps good people unemployed. Yet all I hear is the Democrats feeding the flames via "student debt relief" and Republicans afraid to propose measures like these. If this is a crisis, we're not acting like it.

I stopped rating dancers in reviews. It's too subjective, even if someone knows my tastes. Instead I put it in descriptions if I thought she was hot and why. If someone likes skinny flat chested white girls (not my type), they can interpret my description followed by "not my type" as "very hot, must see when I visit." My "dancer rating" will normally reflect the population according to my subjective definitions, with extra weight given towards whomever I got dances or VIP with. I'd rather go to a club with 10 5's and one hot, personable, high mileage 10 than all 6's with none that stand out.

TUSCL has put strip club more at the front of my mind. As in, if it's a slow day, I'm more likely to say "let's hit up a strip club!" than before I was active here. When my job involved heavier travel, I re-read to exhaustion any review that was a reasonable cab/Uber from where I was staying. I always made my decisions on descriptions rather than ratings. Lots of air dance places got good ratings for the hottest dancers, and last wanted was to end up at a "classy" joint that milked tourists dry.

I'm Hispanic and white, and just don't use the word. Don't feel like I'm missing out on much. I'm aware that it comes off hurtful regardless of intent coming from a non-black person. If I have part black kids, I'll teach them that the word was used to subjugate and put down people who looked like them, regardless of who uses it. If someone calls me that, I don't care. I can't control who says it to me, only if I respond in kind or not.

When I was in 6th grade, I was enough of a teacher's pet that if I finished a test early, my science teacher would let me help her grade the rest of the class' tests. If I got anything wrong, I'd change it with the answer key right in front of me, rationalizing that "I was close." I changed a few friends' wrong answers to the right ones, and a couple assholes' right answers to the wrong ones. I'd gotten away with it most of the year. Then one day in May I get my test back with a bunch of my "corrected" answers "un-corrected" and a post it note saying "T, did you change your answers?" I saw my life flashing before my eyes and awaited the inevitable death. I avoided so much as eye contact for a few days. But no one could prove anything, kept silent, and walked. It was only a few years ago that I told my parents about this. They said it was the right decision, they would have murdered me if they knew at the time. No physical threat, brush with the law or regulatory authority made me feel as terrified as my science teacher that day.

Generally a beautiful people. @BTE, Indian sailors ranged far and wide. A lot of them to the coast of East Africa but also the Caribbean, Fiji, Guyana.

@James, Swedish women might be the most overrated. Everyone thinks they're blonde bombshells but in reality a lot more Gretas. @skibum, Iceland was similar for me. @Icee, big difference in African girls is west vs east. West Africans like Ghanaians, Nigerians tend to be thicker, like AA women. Same gene pool. Also darker than AA since they don't have native or white blood. East African girls like Kenyan, Tanzanian, Ugandan tend to be slimmer. A lot of them even have some East Indian blood. If you want to get even deeper you can distinguish between Kenyan tribes like Kalenjin (all the Kenyan marathoners) vs Kikuyu (tend to be almost west African in build). Ethiopians and Somalis are pretty distinct. Finer facial features.

@shadowcat, lots of reasons for a falling birth rate. Having a lot of kids used to be an economic asset when they would work on a farm. Often, some would die in childhood, requiring you to have a bunch more. More women entering the workforce and valuing careers over child rearing. More access to contraception and abortion. Less religious where a lot of emphasis was placed on having kids. Also a lot more investment going into each kid. You can't be a helicopter parent for 5 kids like you would with 2. Libs like to say it's about a welfare state but Europe and Japan are worse than America in that regard.

@25, I was talking to the recurrent troll, not you. You seem pretty center to me. Over the weekend, I met a sitting Democratic congressman (won't say who other than he's from California). Knew McCarthy from their state legislature days. Says the man has no principles whatsoever, just a careerist, was on the left edge of the caucus in Cali just for self advancement. He said he'd prefer Steve Scalise, who's a dyed in the wool conservative but a nice and principled guy.
