Interesting, and I didn't know he was such a scumbag. Seems like every new version of Windows is bundled with annoying nagware to sign up for McAfee. I guess that's his legacy.

If I were posting on such a forum I would ask: (1) Would you devote as much as 2 hrs to an unpaid Starbucks meet-and-greet for the opportunity to snag a good arrangement (assuming you were meeting a complete stranger)? (2) Would you devote 2 hrs to a meet-and-greet if the meeting spot was, instead, a very nice restaurant and a good meal was the consolation prize if it didn't work out? I'm betting that not a single escort would waste time with an unpaid Starbucks date. Maybe a nice dinner date might entice a small percentage of escorts to take a chance. I still maintain that meeting for coffee is the best way to avoid escorts.

I was going to say the same thing as @Whodey -- but he said it better than I ever could. I also think using TUSCL is the wrong place to sort out serious emotional problems. I don't think any of us have the proper training. Speaking as an objective outsider, I guarantee that you'll find someone else and you'll see this breakup as the best thing as time goes on.

    George Soros backed DA's
I'm reading that George Soros conspiracy theories have spiked this spring on Twitter - from 20K to more than 500K. @GammaNu: "The goal is not a communist USA, but a global communist society. However, there would still be folks like Soros who are more equal than others. Otherwise, what would be the point?" This is such paranoid, nonsense, garbage. What a nutcase.

Best/Worst places to be an SD
PaulDrake's data is interesting and shows that Atlanta and Houston are some of the best places for sugaring. Denver's a little above average with a ratio of about 8-to-1. SF at 6-to-1 which is a little lower and matches what @Subra said in another thread. Another relevant comparison might be the number the college students within a radius of, say, 50 miles. I did a quick tally of schools nearby (CU Boulder, CU Col Springs, Metro State, Regis, U Denver) and came up with nearly 90K students within driving distance. And I've left out the CCs -- so the college population is probably at least twice that. We have a huge college population and that's what makes Denver a good place for sugaring. Since the strip clubs generally suck, sugaring is a better choice around here.

Monthly allowances in metro Denver in the range of $2K to $3K per month are not all that unusual for girls somewhere in the top 1%. That's enough for an equivalent PPM in the $700 to $800 range 3x per month. Everyone's different. I've never gone on a meet-and-greet without a few texts, first, to set the stage with an approximate budget. I've also never had sex on the day of the meet-and-greet. I'm also not interested in pump-and-dump sex. All of my long-term arrangements started with a Starbucks date. Paying for sex isn't rocket science, @Warrior. It's incumbent on you as a worldly senior citizen to set the stage and tell her about your budget; otherwise, you get the kind of drama that you described.

It's a courtesy to give these girls an approximate idea of your budget *before* the date. That way you're not wasting her time and the date doesn't end with her "almost crying." And it reminds me of @Warrior's previous thread where a middle-aged stripper was "stunned" (in his words) at not being able to command the price she wanted (because she was just too damn old). All of this is just common sense -- but maybe he gets a kick out of the power imbalance.

"Great resignation" wave coming for companies.
Speaking of remote work, I thought this article in today's WSJ was interesting: "Many Companies Want Remote Workers—Except From Colorado" https://www.wsj.com/articles/many-companies-want-remote-workersexcept-from-colorado-11623937649 tl;dr: an unintended consequence of a Colorado state law requiring employers to disclose the salaries for open positions. Rather than disclosing salaries for remote positions, many companies are stating that you can't do remote work from Colorado.

    Arizona Audit
Quick search shows that "The Gateway Pundit (GP)" is trash, known for promoting right-wing conspiracy theories. The founder of GP was suspended from Twitter, indefinitely, for posting fake news about the 2020 election. An appropriate source of news for an inveterate crank like the OP. I'm hardly following the Arizona "audit." But from what I gather, the audit is being run by a company called "Cyber Ninjas," a company that has no prior experience with audits and with murky private funding. Are they being supervised, and is it possible that ballots and voting machines will be tampered with by the auditors? Hard to tell if this a laughable exercise by right-wing cranks or something that should be taken seriously as a threat to Democracy.

Why Do Women Go Into Stripping?
Second item probably describes most strippers -- fast easy money with no requirements. Which is fine as long as she realizes that stripping has a finite "shelf life" and as long as she has an exit plan. The problem is that there often isn't an exit plan it's hard for an attractive 21-yr-old to understand the brutal truth that her irresistible physical attractiveness fades so quickly and that all the bald grandpas in the club will simply go on to the next young thing in the club. I recognize Dakota Skye's picture and she was a nearly perfect physical specimen. What a sad shame that her life ended so early -- eaten up, spit out, and exploited by the system.

    OT: Health
I'm in favor of Dr. Google in a situation like this if, for no other reason, it allows you to ask more intelligent questions when you see your cardiologist. I'd start by taking multiple BP measurements several times per day and plotting them on a spreadsheet to get a good idea of where your BP is on average. 70 diastolic is normal and 90 systolic is borderline low. like @Mark said, you'll most likely get an echocardiogram, next. If you should ever have chest pain or shortness of breath, I would go to the ER.

Winning an election by a BIG LIE
The Democrats invented Covid because universal health care had been dropped from the Democratic platform? That's bizarre and psychotic, even by your standards, @SJG. Get some help. As a side note, there's more than one path to universal health care. There's the pie-in-the-sky approach of Bernie Sanders (and later Warren) where we magically eliminate the entire healthcare insurance industry(Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealth...) and force 150M people to change to a government-run system. And there's the practical and modest approach of Biden to make incremental changes to Obamacare and, perhaps, to add a Medicare buy-in. Biden's approach is practical, realistic, achievable. That explains, at least partially, why Biden got the nomination.

@Skibum wrote: "AOC is front and center in the liberal media and is considered by them to be the future. " _________________________ I don't have any hardcore data to prove this, but what @Ski wrote is almost certainly ass-backward. She's only 29 and doesn't wield much power, yet she gets nonstop media coverage and unrelenting criticism on Fox News. The conservative media is obsessed with AOC. Why? Simply because whites fear losing their preferred status as decision-makers in American politics as America becomes white-minority by about 2045. @Skibum could be the poster child for white Americans who fear the country being overrun by brown and black decision-makers. @Ishmael wrote: "But when it's conservative media focusing on a single nutball liberal and making it look like that person represents all left-leaning thought ... well, that's just fine." ________________ Well, duh.
