In mid 2020 the leadership of the Democratic Party, my party, decided that if they ran on Universal Health Care, in a nation wide state by state general election, then they would lose.
The nations with Universal Health Care have about 5 years greater life expectancy, only about 1/2 the infant mortality, and the costs are only about 1/2 of what we pay.
They also do a better job of managing the big three chronic conditions, diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity, and so there are less premature deaths.
But Universal Health Care would cover the people of all income levels and races. These remain the two central issues in US politics.
So in the wake of Richard Nixon's Southern Strategy, getting white southerners to vote for Republicans, a move actually started by Strom Thurmond after his failed 1948 State's Rights Party (neo-Confederate / KKK) bid for the Presidency, the Democratic Leaders decided that they must not campaign on Universal Health Care.
It used to be that the CA primary was at the end. Then southerners wanted more influence, so they moved theirs up. So this time the CA primary was ahead of their, Super Tuesday.
So Bernie Sanders won the CA Democratic Primary. And this put him in the same position Robert Kennedy had been in. So now having a chance of winning the Presidency, this is when people started bringing Nazi stuff to his rallies. I began to fear for his life.
So which way was the party going to go?
Not many blacks in Vermont. Would they come out to vote for him? His message may not have resonated with them.
South Carolina does not have White Democrats any more.
Finally, before Southern Super Tuesday, Congressman Jim Clyburn, representing a district which includes Columbia, gave a 2 hour speech, basically saying that with Sanders we lose, but with Biden we could win, and the stakes could not have been higher. He many have been right.

The most central pillar of the Sanders Campaign was Universal Health Care, whereas Biden always said that we don't need it. And James Carville was saying, "No body wants a revolution."
So to take Universal Health Care off of the table, the Democratic Leadership promoted a lie, that being that the COVID virus kills people.
So where as Santa Clara County seemed poised to lift the precautions on Monday May 4th, 2020, instead they shifted the intent from slowing the virus down, to trying to make people believe that they were being protected from a serious danger, and that the precautions were making them safe. It was like they were trying to contain a chronic condition, which COVID is not.
These precautions would go on for another year, as we were being scolded by Gavin and Sara Cody in their press conferences, for not strictly following the precautions and because there were still new cases.
We did not seem to have anyone on a ventilator for COVID since June 2020. We have 730 ventilators and we always have about 100 persons on them, but not for COVID. I suspect that more use of immunosuppressants are part of this, but it also may be the development of herd immunity and the lighter initial exposure doses.
COVID has been a campaign of psychological warfare, promoting superstitious irrational fear and prejudice. The instigators should be serving prison sentences.

The hidden issue has always been the number of super light infections. This effects the supposed mortality rate and it gives some idea how close we are to herd immunity. These are also the least likely to get tested as they have no symptoms and they seek no treatment. What sane person would want to add their name to Gavin's list in a time of hysteria.
Fauci said in June 2020 that 70% of the US population had already been exposed. And that of these, 60% felt nothing. And this makes sense since it had been here seemingly since Nov 2019, we had little in the way of test kits, and without precautions and prior exposure the number of cases seemed to double every week. So 10 weeks meant 1000x and 20 meant 1,000,000x. Well that is about all the people this county has.
Some precautions to slow it down, like the March and April 2020 shelter I accepted, even though it deeply impacted me and many others. But beyond that, the idea that you could isolate people from the virus, protect them, make them safe, that was pure psychological warfare.
I was looking forward to the reasoned court room debate between Elon Musk's experts, and our county and state public health officials. But no, they are not interested in reasoned debate. They settled the law suit by giving him everything he wanted.
So locally Musk is a big hero now, at least to some of us. He told Gavin and the Public Health admins where to stick it. It all comes down to political clout and your legal war chest.
Fauci says he does not want people refusing the vaccine for reasons which are unscientific. I am not criticizing him over this, but nothing of te COVID response has been scientific.

The constitution was written with the intent that ammendments be added as times and values change.
Also the handling of the pandemic ie testing and vaccinations treatment emergency powers etc are granted to states by the 10th ammendment with the implication that the federal government will coordinate said measures as states implement them.

If you're paying even the least bit of attention, the penalty for not having health insurance was set to zero in 2018 as part of the Trump tax bill. There's no longer a penalty for declining health insurance.
No, the ACA wasn't "deemed unconstitutional." Before the individual mandate was zeroed out, John Roberts and the Supreme Court had ruled the individual mandate constitutional as a *tax* and the government can force you to pay a tax.

The point is, the ACA protects everyone who develops pre-existing conditions through no fault of their own. Under the old system, someone with cancer first went bankrupt and then died an awful death without health insurance. Before the ACA, 50M people could not buy insurance at any cost.

The logic of the lawsuit goes something like this: the penalty for the individual mandate was set to zero, but the ACA still has a mandate, technically, written into the law. Therefore the entire ACA is unconstitutional.

In my layman's view, probably anyone who did not get it, would get it at a later time. That this does not seem to be happening tends to suggest that everyone is getting exposed to it. It is just that many will show no symptoms. The symptoms are after all not the direct result of the pathogen, they are our own immunological response. Probably some are getting such a light exposure does that their immune systems can eradicate it before they show symptoms. And such light exposure doses may have been how the infection originally got spread into the school class. So those who got the light doses originally are immune by the time it is going around in their class. So early light exposures helps minimize the degree to which you are effected. And this fact them must have been the original inspiration for vaccines.
5. When is the period of contagion?
AIK, with most of these kinds of viral infections, it is before the party is showing symptoms. Once they are showing symptoms, then that means that their immune system is responding to it such that they are no longer contagious.
So with COVID we have had all this concern about taking temperatures. And I remember from SARS 1, in Asia, news coming back about screening people for temperatures before letting them board airline flights. At that time I thought, probably the period of contagion is before they are showing symptoms. So such screenings do very little. Eventually I came to feel that their authorities were probably knowingly propagating medical disinformation, just in order to calm people down. But such disinformation also creates hysteria in other ways.
I am convinced that our public health officials have been propagating disinformation about COVID, and have been exercising their authority, for reasons which have no medical justification, just to control the population, and to influence the 2020 election, as well as to protect the huge revenue stream of our broken health care system.

Medical people say they look for anti-bodies to Covid, and can't find them, so the party must not have had it. But I do not believe it. Just because they can't find the anti-bodies, or don't know how to look for them, does not necessarily mean that the party has not had Covid and is not thus immune. Our immune systems are extremely complex and they are as adaptable as the central nervous system. Of course there must be some kind of a memory, but we do not know how it works.

People who wait until they are forced to take to bed, they will end up needing more down time.

As a side note, there's more than one path to universal health care. There's the pie-in-the-sky approach of Bernie Sanders (and later Warren) where we magically eliminate the entire healthcare insurance industry(Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealth...) and force 150M people to change to a government-run system. And there's the practical and modest approach of Biden to make incremental changes to Obamacare and, perhaps, to add a Medicare buy-in. Biden's approach is practical, realistic, achievable. That explains, at least partially, why Biden got the nomination.
There are dozens of "universal" systems out there with their own pluses and minuses. Almost all have a substantial private component.
I'd welcome the discussion, but given the tone of this board, I have low hopes.
But as it stands now, for our own people, we just have to make the best of things as they are. So I guess this means the Affordable Care Act (Obama Care).

If 5.6% of the test results are positive, that means that for each one testing positive then there are another 18 persons standing in line to get tested even though they do not have symptoms and do not feel sick. This is pure hysteria!

But the national leadership of the Democratic Party did not want to be talking about universal health care because they knew that it would cost them the election. So instead they promoted an irrational and hysterical response to COVID. They propagated the lies, that COVID kills, and that the precautions can insulate you, and that it can be choked off.
Whereas the truth is that the precautions only slowed it down, to avoid overflowing hospital capacity. The rate of exposure has always been at least 100x the tested case rate. The virus is only stopping now because it has run out of people. Most people have already been exposed to COVID, though they likely do not known when this happened. This should have been over last summer.
Universal health care would cover all Americans, regardless of race or income level. But to a large slice of the electorate, that would be an abomination.
It's the continuing legacy of Strom Thurmond's 1948 State's Rights Campaign, the legacy of Richard Nixon's 1968 Southern Strategy, and the legacy of Ronald Reagan in 1980 coming out of the summer conventions and starting his campaign in the Mississippi back delta, where the voting registration workers had been murdered by the KKK, and talking about state's rights.
And it is also the influence of Fox News spewing fear, hatred, and racism 365 days per year.
No one would try to choke off a casually transmitted virus. No one that is except our public health officials. They were trying to make a new kind of society, one which is without viruses, The Republic of Hygienic Virtue. And Gavin was to be the Supreme Being.
And so we had Sara scolding us because there kept on being new cases. And Gavin was getting all exercised because the positive test results increased from 5.1% to 5.6% The rate of tested new cases was made into a measure of our society's moral turpitude.
If 5.6% of the test results are positive, that means that for each one testing positive then there are another 18 persons standing in line to get tested even though they do not have symptoms and do not feel sick. This is pure hysteria!
And they built up this hysteria by leading people to think that the reason for the masking was to try and choke off the virus, rather than just to slow it down so that the hospital space is not overflowed.
With his gaslighting and grandstanding, Gavin did all he could to turn CA into a 40 million bed psychiatric hospital. And the effects of this are still with us.

Biden is still promoting hysteria. He is talking about vaccination being necessary and desirable, and like COVID causes death. Saying that the deaths are only those who are unvaccinated. This is all totally untrue.

When people reach the point that they are going to die, this is when they are most likely to contract a serious COVID case. It used to be pneumonia, now it is COVID. But these are still counted as COVID deaths. Finite Life Expectancy.
Any reasonable discussion about COVID will take us to the need for Universal Health Care. But the leadership of the Democratic Party decided that in a nation wide general election, that if they talked about Universal Health Care, then they would loose. So instead they promoted a hysterical response to COVID.
And this hysteria is what Biden is having to contend with. But he is also stoking it. Biden said yesterday that he did not want people to panic. But he is still telling people to get the mRNA Immuno Disabler needle jabs, and he is trying to push his mandate. And today then a high school in Philadelphia has shut down. Unless Biden will either reverse course right way, or resign, then I say he must be removed from office by impeachment.
And Gavin Newsom and Sarah Cody should be serving prison sentences. Cody called a press conference at the end of summer 2020 where she scolded us because there continued to be more new cases, so we must not be following the precautions. Well the precautions don't work that well. All they are supposed to do is slow it down. They won't stop it, they just keep the hospitals from overflowing. But they do slow it down enough that it goes on longer, and these precautions made us go through a second flu season of it. She was trying to eradicate it, even though the stated goal of the lock down was just to slow it down. And then Gavin was scolding us because the positive test results had gone from 5.1% to 5.6%. And that means that for everyone who tested positive there were another 18 persons who had no symptoms and were not seeking medical treatment, but they were still standing in line to be tested. All the testing measured was how much fear Gavin was inducing.
When this first started someone, having absorbed Rick Warren type language, "Well what are you doing to make sure that you don't get it?"
I already knew that this was a lot like influenza. It has long seemed to me that I can shake influenza just by taking to bed as soon as anything feels off. A coworker taught me this and it seems to be so. You minimize the depth and duration of the illness this way. And I knew that most of the COVID infections would never be felt. So I told her, "There is nothing I can do to keep from getting it. I will get it, if I have not already had it. So what?"
