I've got a bad feeling about this.
As heartbreaking as it is to think about, I cannot see a scenario where any SC opens up in the near future or possibly ever.
SC's are the exact opposite of social distancing.
I hope I'm wrong on this one.

Hearing some of the governor's talk about the new reality, there is risk they will never open

The testing looks very promising. Less intrusive and results within minutes.

@Gamma - "the stated purpose of the stay home orders and forced closures is to slow the frequency of infections, not reduce the number."
This is my understanding as well. I'm not sure the general public is getting it.
Most of us will get it. We are just buying time to build up medical resources. I think there is some sort of misconception that this is just going away.

@Steverox - "1. You can just feel that the momentum is switching"
My point exactly. There seems to have been a swift and dramatic swing in public support of the lockdown. Opposition is very vocal.
Polititions are in a no win position here.

@RM - I'm not sure why you are try convince me of something.
All Im saying is the Yahoo commentors seem to be overwhelming opposed to the lockdown.
I believe this is accurate representation of the overall public view.
I also believe public opinion can change that dramatically in three weeks versus your cited poll.

@RM - Where did I say it was a poll? Also, citing a 3 week old poll in this changing environment borders on absurd.
My mention of the 60k estimate is a reflection of the perception of the commentors.
It is not me you have to convince.

@JamesSD - Russian bots? Possibly. Seems more like a population that has lost faith in the decision makers.
This is what happens when, sky is falling, numbers 2.2m estimates turn into less than 60k estimates. Folks quick believing even if there is a good explanation for it.
Start messing with people's liveyhood, there better be a very clear and present danger that can be measured against the sacrifice.
I don't think the masses are seeing it.

@Subra - the president said the decision to reopen is his and will be the hardest decision of his life. Currently, I'm not seeing a deflection of accountibility when it comes to the decision to reopen.

Just an idea here...if the country stays on lockdown, we will save hundreds of thousands.... possibly even millions of lives per year by not having car accidents, shootings, drug ods ..the list is endless.
Yes, let's create a UBI and require everyone to have their food delivered by armed hazmat teams.
Sure, sounds extreme but think about the millions of lives that will be saved. Lockdown! Lockdown!

Is there really a choice though?
A third of renter's didn't pay last this month.
City, county, states have no tax revenue.
Postal service bankrupt.
The list is endless as to why this can't continue.

Saw something today where an expert was saying flair ups are bound to happen until at least half the world's population has had it.
So, the decision is to keep the lockdown in place until a vaccine is mass produced which is untenable OR have mass exposure which is also untenable.
AG Barr said the erosion of personal liberties is becoming concerning. At some point, the onus will have to be placed back on individuals for decisions on safety.

The remodel is fantastic.
I've visited twice since it's reopened during day shift.
First time there was only one dancer. A sexy fun Columbian. Nice.
Second visit, many more dancers but they were definitely b or c level talent. Vibe sucked. One dancer was so drunk she shouldn't have been working.
I hope it stays open somehow.

“The more a person needs to be right, the less certain he is...”
I believe America will re-open in May with the rationale that hospitals now have the equipment to handle the influx.
The country will eventually become fatigued from all the bad Covid news and will quit listening or reacting to it.
Once reopened, I think it will be very unlikely the government will shut it down again.

@scrub - I'm not sure how that's possible. Have to have an on the books job to get unemployment. Have to file taxes to get the stimulas.
