This club has never been great but agree that I’d always prefer that a place stay open - particularly since there are so few options north and west of Chicago.

Yes probably 50/50 for me. Used to be mostly dances but trending toward more engaging outings over the past few years

I’ll be in Las Vegas in a couple of weeks as well. Never been to Freemont St despite many trips to LV over time but plan to check out on this trip. Will hit up Chicas as well just because so many other area options are all glitz no fun

Very good chance that I’ll be at Blaze, Pink Pony and PinUps on Sunday. Unsure of the order at this time though Presently in Raleigh near the airport but didn’t even hit the clubs since reviews in the area suggest that they suck. It’s a very rare day for clubs to be close by and for me to pass on even checking them out

Speaking Spanish would definitely help with OTC but that’s not my thing since I’m in the same cities often enough to make it worth it. Though I did have a couple month fling with a Cubanita in Dallas a few years back. She was a firecracker

That ethnicity look up feature by city was very helpful when visiting new cities which I do once or twice a month. However it’s been gone for years now. Presumably a huge pain for Founder to maintain. I am a comfortable Spanish speaker. However I am unsure if being able to converse in a Latina’s language helps or hurts the dance experience. Definitely helps when chatting but I’m more about the physical side of this hobby

Yep exactly to Muddy and RonJax. I travel a lot making the Maps feature quite useful. And RonJax, for sure, the sorting element being back in action is gold

Even though many of these chains don’t make exceptional food (Chili’s, Applebee’s, Red Lobster, etc) it will be a bummer if many of them die over the next few years. Outside of very urban areas they provide food and work for quite a few people. My observation is that many moms and dads rarely cook for their kids these days so if these restaurants dry up and many people have no idea how to cook how does that work. I know several families who get take out or go out for dinner 4-5 nights a week. No wonder why obesity is a massive issue and overall health of Americans is bleak.

Over hundreds of outings I’ve gotten a few glares (maybe even a comment) at some all black clubs. But I am friendly to whomever I interact with and spend money so eventually people get over my presence.

Going out of town for an overnight tomorrow and this will come in handy since the other version of Maps is still down

Hell yes. At last I figured it out. I had already toggled location services on but also had go down and select ‘Safari websites’ too since that is the browser that I use on mobile.

Bottled domestic beers are still only $1.50 I think. Dances were for 5 for $60 for a long time. Recently changed to 5 for $100 or $120. I think the extra $20 may cover the cost of dance room access. It’s too bad. It could be a decent spot but weird pricing on dances leads to very few people getting them

Accurate review. With several area clubs closed down just to the north of this club Carl’s has done just fine business-wise, likely better than they deserve given the lame dances

Keep an eye out. I know two guys that were down there on business several years ago. Got relieved of their wallets and Rolexes by young thugs

I’ve been going clubs consistently for 15 or so years. More than ever in the past couple of years. Even though I go every couple of weeks I’m almost always ready for the next adventure as soon as I catch up sleep. Often times I’m so amped about an upcoming trip that I’m like a kid on Christmas Eve the night before. Just had that last week on a trip to Miami and my expectations were met.

Have never once used a cc in a SC. Cash is king for me. Have probably only used ATM 5-10 times on >1,000 outings.

Anyone know pricing at PinUps these days? Last time I was there I think I paid $10 to enter the big roped off dance area and then paid $10/song. Is it $5 or $10? Maybe it varies by in the bar area vs. roped off area.

Agree, plenty of thick women at Blaze. Too many in my opinion. Save me the fit ones.
