Used to have a few buddies that were trustworthy and great to hang with, times have changed, we’re all older, none of us are as clubbing as often as we used too, when I actually hit a club, I feel like the proverbial last man standing, only thing missing is the old saved bottle of whiskey to toast those that are no longer with us.

There was a dancer a few years back at The Porthole that was profoundly deaf, I wear hearing aids so she would hang out with me on occasion, the DJ used to play a tone that she was able to hear through vibrations when it was her turn to go on stage, she was proficient at reading lips, American Sign Language, and as I found out from her she had attended Gallaudet university, she spoke with a very hard to understand voice but she was proud to be on her own and she had her own apartment and a car, don’t know what happened to her but she was a hot little babe and very friendly with me.

This stuff is pretty common amongst academics and scientists. It’s the reason that there is diminished respect for people that rely on their knowledge to earn a living. Doctors, Lawyers, Politicians are guilty of stupid decisions and things like this scandal show exactly how they rely on fraudulent means to steal money from legitimate working people. Not to say every academic is guilty of dishonesty, but at some point every large scale fraud has these people behind it.

I’ve seen dozens of live music over the years but among the most memorable would be Bob Dylan, Garth Brooks, Simon & Garfunkel, I especially enjoyed Earth Wind and Fire, The Doors sucked, The Eagles didn’t disappoint, Frank Sinatra was over the hill when I saw him at the garden, Gordon Lightfoot put on a good show, Dolly Parton was cool, Willie Nelson was my fathers favorite I took my dad to that show he was thrilled.
Bruce Springsteen did a great show, I’ve seen so many, most were great, a few sucked, I think the first one I remember was Bobby Darin.

One of many reasons why I very rarely do VIPs is because of how filthy many of these clubs are, my go to is mostly OTC and will remain so, it seems lately that most of these clubs will save money by cutting back on their cleaning budget.

I popped in there a few weeks ago, the day bartender started working there, she called me to come visit her, place is still a dump, kind of filthy with mostly girls that couldn’t get hired at porthole.
They need to clean the place out, it reeks and the floors are sticky, don’t know what they plan to do, but it’s not my type of spot, too much of a dump for my taste.

^ Not just Cuban girls, most of the strippers are under 30-35 and really don’t know or care about cultural touchstones from our previous generations.
I’d say it’s probably the same for males, it’s more of a generational divide than anything else.
