Thank you to everyone who served. I come from a family with a string military background. Grandfather was is France in 1917 - 1918. Father joined the Navy at 17 in April 1944 so before D-Day, but knew the invasion was probably soon - but he was sent to the Pacific. Two Uncles in Korea and one in Viet Nam. But I didn’t. I was in that unique window of people born between 1957 and 1959 who didn’t have to resister for selective service and it was mostly a period of peace when I turned 18.

On a side note - I’ve never watched a single Harry Potter movie, so I don’t have any underage guilt about her.

Maybe not a great actress but in her prime, I can’t think of anyone hotter. A great character actor can elevate a film from good to great. Like you, I’ve always loved Bruce Dern. (I sat next to him on a flight once). But I also love George Kennedy, John Turturro and Steve Buscemi.

I was hoping for a Hail Mary pass during the convention that the Republicans would nominate a better candidate. Now I fear this verdict may have handed the election to Trump. It seems only the hardcore Democratic base seems this is fair. I think many middle of the road independents might swing red.

I go to the Lexus dealer for an oil change and they have free coffee and soda and comfortable chairs and computer work stations for my comfort. You can definitely stereotype certain vehicles with having bad drivers….but if it’s true, is it a stereotype? As mentioned, women in large SVU’s seem particularly aggressive as do men in large pick ups. I’ve never been a cigarette smoker, so I don’t understand the appeal or the affect on the brain. But I’ve noticed smokers are among the most aggressive drivers out there. And if you ever see a vehicle pulled up past a crosswalk and the driver is all fidgety and anxious to go, I bet 90% of the time it’s a guy with a cigarette
