I Wonder If Certain Geographic Locations Of Strip Clubs Effects What Music Is Being Played. Rock Songs Can Really Make A Dancer Entertaining, Particularly On Stage.

I'm a believer in the idea that you get the best experience if the dancers are into the music they're playing. I'm a rock music fan, and if that's what she happens to be into, that's fun. But I'm not picky about the music, because she's the one who has to dance to it, not me.

I dislike almost everything played at almost every strip club I've been to in the last ten years or so. There were a few songs here or there, but mostly, it seems to me, a dancer's preferences are heeded while most customers' preferences are not. I haven't done an official survey but I think it's probably a fair assumption that the males with the money aren't the ones listening to wheedle-wheedle-crunk-crunk rap bitching about cop beatings.

I might call myself a fan of "classic rock". In fact, I listen to classical music when alone at home, and I don't listen to anything (except your odd news break) when in the car, because I prefer being an active listener. I have been working my way through the Chopin Nocturnes and Sonatas on YouTube lately, f.e., and if there are any performers for whom I'm a squealing childish groupie, I guess I'd have to admit that I have my favorite contraltos. So, when I say "classic rock" that's because I still own some Led Zeppelin and Beatles LPs and CDs. But that's more an indication of the ARRANGEMENT and band-combo-style that I prefer, rather than the specific songs. I'll listen to any of a wide range of eras, periods, styles, but I want it to be somehow tuneful. Not necessarily pop-catchy melodic (I puke for Taylor Swift, though she did look hot in that jumpsuit). But if it simply has no tune at all, like 99% of the rap I hear at strip clubs, then to me it isn't music, it's just rhythm and spoken-word. I don't necessarily object in theory; to me, person can still like or dislike it reasonably, but I think it's fulfilling their interest in something other than the frequency-manipulation that we call music. I think some rap tells interesting stories (some rap is stupid mindless doggerel couplets and nothing more) and so forth. But if it's merely Igowallah, fast rhyming stupidity, no thanks. I'm marginally annoyed that strip clubs rely so much on that stuff when it seems that so many of their customers probably don't.

I can hack a lot of music, so long as there is variety in what is being played. Years ago, my taste in music may have aligned better with the dancer's. Now the age gap means that is unlikely.

I have had discussions with dancers in the past about whether it's better for the music to suit my tastes, or theirs. Yes, they are the ones that have to dance to it. But the club is trying to get me in a generous mood. When things are going good, I like to imagine ("imagine" being the key word) that there is a vibe going with me, the dancer, the music, and whatever alcohol was in the weak drinks I've been served.

If the music is to the dancer's taste, not mine, we are not in the same vibe. I think the shrewd dancers know how to put on an act, and go with the illusion the customer is trying to immerse in. That warm glow of his, and money flowing out of him, helps.

Whereas I don't care how much a self centered dancer is enjoying "her' music, she is never going to be deluded she is doing anything other than dancing on some old bald fucker. And I can feel that.

The fact that dancers choose their music based upon what they like and not the customers again proves what a bizarro upside world strip clubs are.

Every other industry caters to their customer. I go to the Lexus dealer for an oil change and they have free coffee and soda and comfortable chairs and computer work stations for my comfort.

I go to a strip club in the afternoon where 90% of the customers are white Boomers who grew up on Classic rock and the dancers on stage are blasting some ghetto gangsta rap.

Pretty sure OP either has some kind of learning disability or is a bot.

I have fond memories of clubbing in ATL with Gucci Mane and Waka Flame in the background, nursing a drink with my friend. Even outside the club, I hear "Is your rollin? Girl he geeked up!" and "I go hard in the muthafuckin paint!" and it transports me to having a drink in my hand, and hot Cubanas grinding their asses against me like there's no tomorrow.

Otherwise, unless it's a song I really like or hate (i.e. 99% of them), I don't even notice it. I might nod my head to the rhythm and watch her dance, but I don't care.

@motorhead - They cater to us enough with naked women. After that, they're like casinos, it's all a front to drain us dry.

Back in my prime clubbing days in the 90s - daytime white dancers I liked played Alice In Chains. I hear that music at it takes me back.

Most of the best music I've heard in clubs has been when where the dancer just picks her songs rather than the DJ trying to match her aesthetic.

For your comfort, for one sole objective: to keep you coming back in order to get your money. Nothing is genuine, least of all a lexus dealership. The fake smiles across all "legit" and professional business is less authentic than what you get at a strip club.

I likely can’t identify most of the music played in the clubs I frequent, but I always find it funny when a really popular Spanish song comes on and all the senoritas start singing along loudly to something that I’ve never heard before.

On related subject, if you turn on the Shazam app (or Shazam function, if your phone is recent) you can do some excellent subterfuge. You can, of course, identify the songs so that you never have to listen to the damn things again. But you can also use it to COUNT the songs for you, so the dancer can't over-state the number of private dances she just gave you.

Or, you reach down and locate your cojones, grab them, ask her if she thinks you're an idiot and why she's trippin, and tell her how many songs it actually was. Something tells me she's not going to view your shazam count as authoritative anyway. When you stop treating these bitches who are trying to rip you off like they're special, they just won't even try to pull shit like that.

💃 Back in the day we used to dance by the jukebox. Lots of clubs nowadays.
Have the dancers just tell the DJ. What types of music they listen to or artists and they just play Whatever. And that's if thier lucky lots of clubs, just play Whatever the DJ wants. I guess depending on the area. They live in and the girls just dance... some girls just can't dance to whatever the DJ is playing so that must really suck. Cause you can't get into that.💃
