I made three visits in mid-December right when Omnicron was starting to make the news. The only thing I noticed was on day #3 they added a temperature check to get into HK in addition to making you wear a mask (which you can immediately take off once you enter). Nothing unusual at either border crossing. I think there are signs to wear a mask but nothing else.

Well written review. I have always paid $5 for taxi but I hear others have pressure to pay more. The border checks in both directions know that a lot of single guys are going to Zona Norte. I have never paid more than $5 or $6. I do not ask price, I hand over the money and get out of the car. I gave my last taxi driver $6 last time and he said he appreciated the nice tip. Most BG's I have been around to not seem to be that drunk. Many of them for Ficha's get fairly watered down drinks. Even the Tecate Light bottle they get is pretty small. The easiest way to get a girl is to flag down a mesero (there is usually one with 5 feet of you) and tell him which girl you want to come visit. You have to remember these girls are human. I think it at least some of it depends on how often they are having sex. Some of the girls at HK are almost doing laps from HK to Cascadas, but most of them probably only get 1 or 2 trips to the hotel each night (if that many). You really need to read the girl. Thanks for the advice here. I was already planning to spend at least one extra day after the conference was over, but was hoping to get over maybe twice including one night during the conference. A lot of good points both ways. I do agree there is nothing wrong with being in TJ, just didn't want to be seen in the clubs. How has the line to get back to the U.S. been around midnight? Before Covid I rarely waited more than 15 minutes in line to get back to the U.S. (using the old East crossing)
