Visited: Friday Evening

I hadn't been to Oasis in at least a decade; the Orchid did not have the dancers I was hoping for on this Friday evening (admittedly it was a bit early) so I figured I'd check Oasis out. It is located on a wide boulevard adjacent to the massive Food Produce Center that is lined by car dealerships and other semi-industrial stuff. A safe easily accessible if unappealing location. Pulling into the Oasis parking lot through the narrow entrance in the chain-link fence, the front parking lot was full so I went around to the parking in back, where there were hardly any cars. Walking around to the front I noticed an orange notice on the door indicating they were applying for a certain type of liquor license, which made me wonder if they'd have any alcoholic drinks. As you go through the front door you find yourself in a cramped little area with a small reception desk and an airport-style security set-up to pass through. The desk woman was friendly and I paid the $10 cover. When I stepped through the scanner she called over a security guy who passed a wand over me and said "you're good."

Turning to the right I passed through a door into the club, which a medium-sized room with a long rectangular bar around a very long stage with a couple poles inside the bar running almost the length of the bar. There was a twenty-something blonde going through the motions when I entered; there are booths along the wall to the right. There were at most 20 customers in the whole place and I could see about 8 - 10 dancers ranged around the bar, a couple hanging with customers the rest talking among themselves. A quick scan of the dancers--who were about 50-50 white/WOC (no Asians or obvious Latinas that I could see) revealed that the talent was very average, mostly in the 5 - 6 range in looks and bodies. A friendly barmaid came over and informed me that there was no Coors light so ordered an Amstel light. The music--pop hip-hop/urban pop-- was at moderate volume. The first dancer came off and a slender, young brunette came on, pleasant looking but nothing special. The blonde slowly made her away around the bar, stopping to talk with other dancers and one customer, asking for a tip when she got to me. A couple dancers passed behind me without making any attempt to engage me and they weren't interesting to me anyway so I made no attempt to engage them. And in general the dancers seemed not particularly motivated to engage with customers.

It was shaping up to be a completely uninspiring visit; there was nothing special about the club decor, the dancers I could see, the music or the vibe. But my policy is always to wait awhile and see if anything special appears. Lo and behold, about 15 minutes later a petite, pretty AA dancer got on stage and she danced with some enthusiasm and some nice moves. Bingo! just my type and I would rate her an "8" at least. Now there was a reason to stay awhile. One problem with this place is there was only one dancer onstage at a time and each would dance the first record down at the far end of the stage from me, so it was hard to really look at them and then one record at my end of the stage. I made eye contact with the AA dancer onstage, nodded and smiled, hoping she would get the message and given the shortage of customers/$ in the room would be motivated to seek me out or least make it around the bar to me for a tip.

The good news is she did, greeting me with a warm smile and as I put my hand on her back I felt that her skin was silky smooth. We jumped into a lively and enjoyable conversation; her name was Crystal, of Jamaican background and she said she was actually a trained dancer adept in many styles and had performed with different dance troupes. I had decided when I came to the club that if there was any dancer who caught my fancy I would test out the private dance option for TUSCL research purposes. I asked her what the options were. She said couch dances were $20 per 4 minutes, then another option more private which I forget the name of that you could have for 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes segments. She said there was also a Champagne Room. I asked her what the cost of a 15 minute block in the second option cost and amazingly she wasn't sure, saying either $60 or $120. I pointed out that that was a pretty big difference....and asked what the difference was between that option and the couch dance option. She said she didn't know as she had only done couch dances (she was relatively new). But she certainly didn't take the opportunity to imply anything wild or "extra" in the second option or champagne room. So I opted for couch dances.

The couch dance room is in the far corner; as we entered there was a big security guy just inside the door and a woman at a high desk; Crystal gave her name and she led me to a far corner couch, out of view of the desk and guard. She straddle me and began a light grind...taking off her top halfway through. She was fine with my hands anywhere and everywhere but kept her bottom on and in place. After the first song, she said "that's one" and was diligent about making sure I knew how many we were into. She then got into a more intense grind with some sexy sliding around as I ran my hands over her silky smooth skin and boobs. But she wasn't particularly "handsy"; no stick shifting. I did see the form of the security guy loom into view once during our dances but he slid out of sight after a quick glance at us. After the 3rd record I called a halt to what had been an enjoyable but not especially exciting three dances. As I went to pay, I said "three, right?" and the woman said "four- $80." I turned to Crystal and I said "it was three, right?" and she said "yes.' The woman began looking at her notes seemingly trying to add minutes in her head, seemingly a challenge for her. The security guy, who had been following this, came over, looked at the time notes and said to the woman "it's three." She said "sorry" to me and I paid $60. So on the one hand, shaky time-keeping but on the other hand it was a "plus" that the security guy intervened and didn't just back her up as a matter of course.
