The weekend after 9-11 I was spending a Saturday night at my favorite place when around midnight about 2 dozen officers in full swat gear carrying automatic weapons came storming in. I never asked and figured it was a good time to keep my mouth shut since anyone who gave them any kind of hard time ended up cuffed and face down on the floor. About 6-7 years ago the local LE cracked down big time on all the strip clubs in the area. They took the media along for the busts and got a lot of air play. OK I’ll take a contrarian view. I like all the trappings found in the typical Gentlemen’s club with a few exceptions. Valet parking – I drive a new and very expensive car and I like to know that it’s being watched while I’m in the club. I always tip the valet on the way in and ask him to keep an eye on my car. When I come out it’s always parked right next to the valet booth. Ever wonder why it always seems like the closest spots have the newest most expensive cars parked in them? Now you know. Cover charge – It keeps out some of the undesirables. In most places it’s not high enough to keep them all out. Décor – I like a place where I can get a comfortable private booth with a good stage view where I can entertain the many dancers I will encounter while I’m there. I also like good stage lighting. I want a good look. A great sound system is also a good thing to have as long as the DJ doesn’t abuse it and play it to loud. Multiple flat screen hi def televisions to catch a glimpse of the game now and then. These are all things to me which create a comfortable atmosphere and I’m willing to pay for such an atmosphere. Expensive drinks – Who cares. Not an issue with me. What’s an average bar tab compared to the price of lap dances. Generally the places with the highest prices have the most variety to offer. I like a place that offers a full line of drinks even though I usually only drink bottled water. Expensive lap dances – It is my experience that the best dancers are very fluid. They move to where ever they can make the most money. If my paying a higher price for lap dances insures a steady flow of top notch dancers then I say ok. If you want the best you have to pay for it. Been to Vegas more times then I care to admit so here is the low down. As you walk down the strip you will be handed flyers by strangers advertising strippers who will come to your room. These are bait and switch up sell agencies. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy being ripped off. In fact avoid any agencies while in Vegas I can’t tell you how many horror stories I have heard or read about Vegas agencies. As far as going to a strip club and finding a stripper who is willing to come back to your room its possible but be prepared to spend large amounts of money. After all it’s Vegas and they can get guys to fork out hundreds of dollars for some time in the VIP rooms how much do you think they are going to ask to come back to your hotel room? Many of the upscale casinos have security posted at the elevators. What they require is that you show a room key or key card to get past. So just meet your lady or ladies in the casino lobby or one of the casino bars and accompany them to your room. No problems no hassles. Another tip, if they are going to call your hotel room when they arrive at the casino you must give them your real name. The casinos will not put a call thru to a room number only the caller must know the name your registered under. Cell phones get around this. Don’t worry about how they are dressed most of the strip casinos have at least one hot trendy night club and the women coming and going from there will be dressed a lot sexier then any working girls. Again it’s Vegas and they all know the routine. Ten years ago some of the more upscale conservative casinos would not let escorts in until late at night usually 2 or 3 am. This no longer seems to be the case. I see them in the casino from 9 pm on. Just go to any of the casinos bars and look for good looking women sitting at the bar alone or in groups having a drink usually coffee and playing video poker.
