I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked into a club and that “6” is the hottest girl working.

One of my former ATFs was a 6. On the street as a “civilian” you wouldn’t even look twice at her, but in the club all done up she became a 7 IMO. She was a good conversationalist, reliable for OTC (never cancelled on me), her rates were very reasonable, she was amazing in bed, and we had fun together outside of the bedroom. Probably the least attractive of all my steady OTC partners in the past but if I could revive any of those old OTC relationships today she’d probably be the one I’d pick.

Tastes/preferences are probably the #1 reason, by a long shot. The dancer you mention is probably barely a 7 my book, if we're talking my personal tastes she's a 6 at best. I wouldn't buy a $5 dance from her. I'm not trying to be judgemental or anything, you probably feel the same about the girls I call a 9. I don't think one of our preferences is better or more correct.

It may be somewhat related, but after that it's probably a combo of desperation and the fact that they can be successful. At some of the lower tier clubs, I see women in their 50's who are way below what I'd consider fucking even with beer goggles on. And I probably couldn't get a shot with them at the club if I wanted to, they've got devoted followers. I'm not sure if they're undercutting market prices or doing things other girls don't, but I can tell ya there's some fat/old/ugly bitches that are pulling in serious cash.

Age is gonna be my number three. I don't see that many truly ugly strippers. I see a lot of fat ones, which I chalk up to taste. And I see a lot of old ones, which I guess is taste too. But during day shift particularly, those older strippers tend to be popular with the older crowd. I can't speak to it and I'm sure there are guys here who can, but I notice a good bit of the 70+ yr old customers spending time with the 40+ yr old dancers. Maybe that comes back to taste again, but I can totally see how a 70 something may prefer a 40 something over a 20 something, even if I find the 40 something one unattractive.

As far as pornstars go, a Racquel Darrian in her prime is more my speed. I'm sure there's a more recent example but I never really remember those porn chicks names these days.

Also like Dolfan said, a lot of older divorced or widowed PLs will take an average looking stripper that’s an engaging conversationalist over a hot one that can’t string a sentence together. There’s a reason those older strippers are still working and having success and the main reason has nothing to do with their looks. They found a niche, something many of us look for our entire life while at work.

The one truth I’ve learned from years on TUSCL is the wide range in tastes of what men find attractive.

The “smash or pass threads” are a good example. Some of those women, you couldn’t pay ME to fuck them, and invariably someone will say she’s a “perfect 10”

In the US, the median hourly wage for women in their 20s is under $20 an hour. You have to deal with a lot of contempt when you strip. How willing/able you are to deal with that is a more significant filter than looks in determining who strips. If you're a bar fly anyway, why not be a stripper?

@PuddyTat, I was not thinking about extras, just the normal business routine. For extras, the uglier crowd typically is more willing to put out. Depending on the club competition, they will put in more effort. I have met my best lays like that.

@Dolfan, The less attractive women provide a floor of quality. This is usually the hunting ground for extras because the 8 and above want to do the least work as possible. I still get caught up with the more attractive strippers (sometimes I'm just trying to get good dances). I notice a consistent pattern of pretty girls putting in less effort. I find the 5 to 7 range the most optimal for extras. My scale for tipping on stage and VIP sessions is higher, and I'm sure most casual strip club goes have certain expectations.

Age is a factor as well, it can be a hard sell because if your not into MILFs, then it's not really for you. And yes I have seen older gentlemen (60+) be generous with MILFs but at that age most people are younger than you .

@Context, how young and how old? I can see guys in their 20's liking women in their 30's for that reason. But I don't see a lot of guys in their 30's or 40's being into chicks in their 40's or 50's, that's usually the realm of guys in their 60's and 70's.

Again, not being judgemental, it's perfectly fine if you're in your 20's and into chicks 20-30yrs older than you. But I think that's a small enough minority where there aren't enough of you to support many older strippers. While around here there's enough of a seniors market that I think a club could only admit 55 and over and only hire 40 and over. They could be open only 7am to 7pm or something. Hell, I might have just stumbled onto a winning business idea.

@Icey, I agree with the "circumstance and desperation" reasoning.

The best sex I have had are the ones who proposition sex to me (unless I've had bad experiences in the past) or the ones who agree quickly when asked. Internally, I know dancers only sleep with guys when bills or obligations are due.

It may not just be you Icey, typically the hotter dancers intentionally make themselves exclusive to all but guaranteed money PL. I would rather have nice 6 or 7 than a ROB 9 that has no intention on delivering promises.

I was at a club chatting with a dude who was younger than me as it turns out but looked my age. He was amazed I was spending time with a 19-year-old. His choice was 40. His reasoning? At 57 she was in his dating "wheelhouse" so women closer to him in age made it more "real" for him. His exact question? What the fuck would you have in common with a kid? My response? "She has a sexy naked body. I have a hard on and money. Thats a lot in common imo." We're all different. We all want different things.

We often have to recover old ground on this board. This is one of those times to be reminded that strip clubs are a job for strippers. Why is she there? She’s working. What is she doing making money.

It’s as simple as that. It doesn’t matter if you like her. Not every girl can be the hottest girl in the club. Someone is tipping her enough so that she doesn’t quit. If she’s not making money she will have to quit. It’s not difficult.

The question is not "why do fat, ugly, grossly unattractive women work as strippers?" The question is "Why do they get hired to work as strippers?"

^ Most do not get hired. They are independent contractors and club owners let them work there for a fee.

@ Shadowcat, that does explain a lot. My only concern is that technically a manager would want to hire for a few reasons:

1. Quality Control, this matters more at more prominent clubs than others.

2. Legal Protection, To make sure they aren't a murderer or thief to the business (ROB behavior to patrons not withstanding)

3. Age Rules and other County restrictions, This is entirely dependent on the state or country if a license is required to do the job.

@ Icey, I can believe that type of psychology. If a woman looks like the type of high school crushes I had, I will make a concentrated effort to spend time with her.

One of the reasons I prefer urban clubs is because most of the women are attainable. I once spoke to a dancer from the Midwest who said that in many counties, you have women with professional jobs who dance out of state for extra income or sugaring. Its a contrast to poorer counties where most of women stripping are as you say "desperate for money".

I like to think I'm pretty objective in my ratings and that my ratings conform to generally accepted principles of beauty in america. My one friend is all about small waist and big booty and dark skin, I get the appeal and i will try to factor that in when I review.

Girls who are 5-6s dance because they still make more money doing very little effort. Yes, they can make more money at a real job but if you're good at hanging out, you will get free drinks and probably one or two pity dances an hour which is like probably equates to $50-60k a year for much less hours actually worked.

A 5-6 in my book isn't necessarily ugly or not easy on the eyes. She could have a pretty face, just her body is out of shape and overall and stated above, you wouldn't know she was a dancer, but for the club.

In the Chicago area, it was common (when girls actually worked the room, pre-Covid) that girls did this part-time to supplement income, maybe drug habit. A legit 7+ could make really good money at a no-extras, less gropey clubs like Polekatz. But these 5/6 and under need these hotter girls around to draw the crowd in.

Christy Canyon in her prime is a 10. I don't know if I would ever get tired of fucking that.

@stainglass, it's just a thought experiment. I appreciate all of the feedback. I just wanted to see different perspectives on a very common occurrence in strip clubs.

The difference is that clubs aren't rated by the quality of their patrons (those tend to be very high end establishments). Clubs are rated by the dancer quality. I don't care if a stripper is super hot but some club manager would only because they want the "atmosphere" to be a certain way.

Some clubs care about more than just getting the initial payment from dancers. I understand your point however.

One of my former faves, who probably wasn't more than a 5, loved the entertainment aspect of stripping, even more than one of her other jobs, which was singer in a punk rock band.

Looks aren't everything. My ATF would probably have been considered a 6 or 7 by many here, but for me, her personality and attitude made her irresistible. My current SB is better looking, but still not uber hot, but is hot to me because of her personality.

On the other hand, one of what most of you here would consider a certifiable 10, and one hottest dancers I've seen anywhere, turned into such a huge bitch after a while that my dick wouldn't get hard if she were a vacuum.
