Complete rip off

twentyfive
Living well and enjoying my retirement
I went yesterday to stop at Monroes in West Palm Beach, it was about 2:30 in the afternoon the parking lot was not full but every non valet space, was occupied, now I know that the club was far from full, I exchanged texts with a few people that work inside that how I know.
When I asked the valet to open a space for me he told me he would park my vehicle, I said no I would pay the valet charge, but I would park it myself, he told me to park it about a block away in a completely unsecured lot, I said fuck it and went elsewhere.
what do you guys think is this a greedy grab and costing the dayshift girls money,
I always have more than 3-500 in my pocket and spend but I refuse to give the keys to my 80K vehicle to some kiddy parking attendant and recently they’ve started trying to get scans of licenses which I have refused. Too bad for them but a half mile away Cheetah is packed most afternoons never charges to park and never attempted to look at ID I guess I’m finished with Monroes

Since it seems like for months its all been non strip club related threads. Especially from useless aids ridden fags like vhiv and sjg shitting up the board. Shit you didn't even complain about the president.

Fuck em. These valets are such a rip off. I always park around the block.

Was there actually a space in the lot? Maybe he was gonna park the car in the far lot anyway if you gave him the keys.

"... When I asked the valet to open a space for me he told me he would park my vehicle ..."

Does this mean he would have to move an already parked car to give you a space?

If there is space in the lot its stupid to require valet. I can see making it available to anyone who wants it, but nickle and diming everyone only hurts the club.

Strip club valet parking is a higher form of rip off like a bathroom troll.

They've been doing that shit since they opened. It's not always all of the non-valet spots, but they pack the lot with cars. Then they get a few people over in the back/Legends area and the lot is full but the club is empty. Last time I was there I gave them a non drivers license but still government issued ID and he couldn't scan it but let me in. In the past, I too have offered to pay for valet but self park and was refused. My reaction has been the same, drive 2 minutes to Cheetah.

Rhino is finally back to $10 dances during the day, so I may give them another try next time. It'll likely be hard for them to get customers/girls back after all the bullshit they've been pulling, so it might still suck.

^ There were cones blocking about 3/4 of the parking spots, the rest of the spaces were occupied by most likely employees my friend told me there were 7 PLs inside, and about 15-18 vehicles parked. iMHO valet is fucking the club there are approx 45 parking spaces I understand that valet is a contract service but not a single club in this area uses valet dayshift
The guys who own this club were the owners of DDs that went bust, I’m gonna go out on a limb and take a WAG they really don’t know what’s going on in their club.
  • twentyfive
@Dolfan Another thing about this place they are pushing that legends membership hard, who in their right mind would pay extra for a membership when they couldn’t keep DDs open and this place is in real danger of collapsing if they don’t start paying attention to their market and letting the inmates run the asylum.

Yeah it is because as someone else pointed out early on in this thread you wouldn’t have to tire us about mundane topics. A blue haired lady cut me off in the parking lot yesterday and I didn’t create a post or even bother with letting her know how pissed I was with her almost causing an accident and taking up a spot to
    Park. Mundane....

"... There were cones blocking about 3/4 of the parking spots ..."

Oh - ok -- not moving a simple cone and allowing a custy to park himself is bush-league - also bush-league if they have as many, or more, valet spaces vs free spaces, especially for dayshift - some clubs when they are slow (dayshift, etc), seems they take up the free spaces w/ employees parking in them (dancers, staff, etc) to make the club look fuller from the outside - not uncommon to see a club with a good # of cars in the lot then it'd be slow inside and leaves you scratching your head.

If you wanna follow-thru, I'd write an email to the club; or better yet comment on their social media page (Twitter, Facebook, etc) and tell them how they are inconveniencing paying customers (many businesses are sensitive to comments on social media).

Even if they let ya park for free woul it have been better than Cheetahs? I too despise being nickle and dimed. Tried to scan my license at Mario's. When I refused they said go ewlsewhere. I said yup off to providence. They snidely rewplied: "hope the drive is worth it". I said its only 35 miles and every mile I drive will equal one year of not coming here. The bartender spoke up about me being a long time customer and he relented. I tipped her and said see you in 35 years. There is no justification to scanning licenses; none.
  • Call.Me.Ishmael
Yeah... I'd contact the club and let them know that cash found its way to the competition because of that valet. I wouldn't shoot to get him in trouble. He just needs some guidance on when to bend the rules.

I got so used to having my drivers license scanned when I used to do Vegas.

as to parking I park my bad ass Prius myself. ain’t no way I’m gonna let some valet rookie drive that $6000 car.
  • skibum609

I wouldn't mind a valet driving my car, but if they stole my weed I'd have to kill them so I self-park.
  • Papi_Chulo

Giving one's keys to a valet and have them park your car should be an option for those that want that service; not mandated
  • twentyfive
@Skibum it’s not that it would have been better than Cheetahs it probably wouldn’t the point is they are just letting the inmates run the asylum
@ Papi I started this thread and intend to copy paste this entire thread to Monroes Facebook or Snapchat accounts in a day or so after this thread gets a bunch of responses

Scanning licenses not valets. They pulled the valet shit just to scam oyu out of a few extra bucks. As a lawyer I can respect a scam for serious money, but this isn't one of them lol. The scanning bothers me. One of the clubs I freequent told me thay had to scan licenses so that in case of an emergency they'd know how many people were there. He then showed me he had scanned 400 licenses so far that day. I asked him why they didn't scan on the way out or in case of a fire did they plan on looking for 400 people, 380 who had already left. He said no harm no foul in a snotty way, so I said be kind of funny if I filed complaint with the city that you had 400 people in here when the capacity is 125 on the license. He had just gotten through telling me there were 12 people inside, when he realized that the official record showed 400. They stopped.
  • twentyfive

^ Good point even better as an officer of the court you might have better luck notifying the local taxing regulators can you imagine the discrepancy between the reported receipts and 400 unique customers that would fix their ass and cause them to lose any scanners that are on the premises
  • skibum609

IRS bagged a pizza joint in providence 30 years ago for unpaid taxes, not by going through the money trail, but by obtaining all their purchase orders and hiring expert pizza makers to determine how many pizzas could be made with the product. They apparently declared about 20% of what they sold.
  • twentyfive
^That is frequently done even now, state of Florida went after a friends car wash by just putting a counter and camera on a light post and nailed him for the discrepancy between the car count and the revenue paid, cost him thousands.

It would be interesting to know how much extra they are making due to this charge, versus how many guys overall don't SC regularly because of the overall strategy of treating customers like marks every chance they get
  • twentyfive

^ I'm not sure the club is making a ton of money seems to be a way for the local employees to skim some cash, in my mind there doesn't appear to be a lot of return for the risk involved, so my thinking is an owner isn't involved, if he is this sure is a pitiful scam but who knows ?

Mandatory valet parking is one of my pet peeves too. I’m perfectly capable of parking my own car and have no desire to pay someone to do it for me. The only place I have ever seen where it’s actually warranted is at Follies, where the club is always busy and the parks lot is tiny. In Detroit a couple of years ago I parked on a side street and walked to the door of Penthouse where I was informed I had to use the valet. I turned around and left.
  • san_jose_guy

I never like valet parking, and I try to avoid it. Really I prefer to park on the street.

25, I know your car costs more than that.

@twentyfive - When that situation happens I make sure to tell them I am OK with paying to park I just want to park myself, usually then they will concede. If that doesn't work I usually just ask for their name and ask if they are 100% sure that no self parking is the policy.

The valet kids don't want you to self park because they know they won't get a tip not because it's the policy.

In your case I would just call the valet company and tell them what happened and to make it clear to the employees there that self parking is fine if you pay the fee.

I've avoided restaurants and hotels because of valet parking.

But I also have to say that once I went to pick up a car from dealer service. I was not pleased to see them making it go real fast in first gear.

I've never run into a mandatory valet parking issue but if I ever do I'll go down the road and save my cash. One time I was asked to pay for VIP parking or go park around back. Around back was over 100 feet away and it was very dark. At a club I'd never been to. Told them to forget it and I went elsewhere to spend my money. And I had a great time at the other club.

Sure the hell am not giving my keys to some dumbass at a strip club.

We have all read lots of posts from TwentyFive. So we know what he sounds like.

But what does he look like?

I think he looks a lot like this:

    https://s3.birthmoviesdeath.com/images/m…

Exact opposite of someone who shoots his mouth off like Donald Trump. Very controlled and deliberate in what he says.

Next time someone is making a movie and needs a cinematic Mob Boss, we should jump in and make sure TwentyFive gets that part.

founder really needs to fix his website there’s a virus that is infecting on topic threads, by non contributing trolls making unfounded ad hominem attacks on contributing members that are untrue
Until the owner of this website deletes the virus from his site you are all at risk some of you are good guys and gals but any business owner that allows non contributing idiots to drive off good members isn’t very intelligent, it’s the equivalent of allowing homeless people to take over the tables in a restaurant without ordering any food.
good luck to all I’m done and I’ve said my piece

I made a feature request thread in the Verified Room that went a bit off track but stayed on-topic (if that makes any sense...), where I posted the following:

"My point of contention is that the response to nearly every single feature request / suggestion (even from founder) is "But the trolls...".

And I'm not saying that response is inappropriate or incorrect. I'm saying that maybe the shittiest people on the site shouldn't be the biggest limiting factor on what the site can do.

But, as I've said before, not my sandbox."

Privately it was pointed out to me that I'm guilty of felony syntax. Founder himself has never said "but the trolls...". What I meant was that even when the guy who runs the site says "maybe we can do this", the knee-jerk reaction from the community is usually "Nope. Trolls will have a field day."

My personal opinion is that this site can either be welcoming to trolls or welcoming to contributors. Both is not possible.

TwentyFive, not everyone sees topics as narrowly defined as you do. Many of us like to broaden discussions and come at them from other angles. Usually when a thread really gets lots of responses and goes for a long time, then there is some of this broadening going on, as this draws more people in.

TwentyFive is a business man. And he also studied under Lee Strasberg at the Actor's Studio, the Method Acting School in NYC. So none of this is ever personal for TwentyFive.

    https://youtu.be/uL9uHVJCbMs?t=424

And Founder, thank you for acknowledging that it is all of us who make this web site go. I never doubted you, but I know that sometimes on this forum things do get pretty contentious.

But I am looking forward now to this next round of changes.
