Former " Legendary" Clubs

Warrior15
Anywhere there are Titties.
Someone started a topic yesterday about Hong Kong in TJ and calling it "legendary". I have to agree that it is indeed the thing legends are made of. But there are several clubs out there that maybe have that reputation, but don't quite measure up. OR maybe they were once legendary, but now are mere shells of themselves. There are plenty of clubs out there that were once the almighty, but have now fallen. Or maybe they haven’t fallen but they aren’t up to their reputation. Here are a few that I will mention :

1- Mons Venus, Tampa. I remember the day when there was a line out the door with guys willing to pay that $20 cover charge. And this was 25 years ago when $20 cover charge was unheard of. The place was filled with young, blonde bombshells that were willing to do anything that you were. As long as you were willing to do it two feet aware from someone else sitting on the bench next to you. No VIP rooms here, but the Mons grind is legendary. Joe Redner has had to fight the local law and now there are a bunch of weird rules to follow. Still a good time, but not what it used to be.

2. Treasures, Houston, TX. Houston’s economy has had its ups and downs. So had the strip club industry in Houston. A couple of female mayors have tried to put them out of business. But in it’s heyday, there was nothing like a trip upstairs to the VIP room at Treasures.

3- Spearmint Rhino, Las Vegas. This place is probably the biggest collection of beautiful naked women anywhere. But the cost is just too damn much. Unless you are a billionaire, you cant really have a good time here. If in Vegas, hang out at the bar in Belligio. Take a call girl to your room. It will be cheaper.

4- Tootsies, Miami Gardens, FL The Costco warehouse of strip clubs. Quite possibly the largest club anywhere. I think once not long ago, this one claimed the top club prize. Now, I don’t’ think I would go there at night. It’s dangerous. And the girls have upped their prices where it costs a lot to have a good time. It’s all available at Tootsies. But just not the same value and quality that I remember from a few years ago.

5. Scores, New York City

6. The Lodge, Dallas, TX

7. Cheetah, Atlanta, GA

What other supposedly “legendary” clubs that don’t’ quite measure up anymore ?

@Warrior why do you think Tootsies is dangerous, I don’t remember any recent problems in the area, I personally have never had a problem there, just asking.

i'm guessing just because it's dark at night.

Shadow - I remember the sofa room at the PP in Memphis. Good times.

25- I can still go to Tootsies and have a good time. But this place used to have the title of best anywhere. it's not that anymore.

MisterWonderful - I did say you had to pay to get them naked. And it costs you big time.
  • The manager at spear mint rhino @ Vegas said he would have loved me to audition lmao when I applied there lolol

Penthouse Club, Detroit. Since the crackdown, it is a pale ghost of its former self.

Seductions in Niagara Falls Ontario. Anything goes in the back room with hot québécois babes. It was a great set up. You’d go get a lap dance from a 9 at sundowner, then walk next door (they shared the same parking lot) to seductions and get serviced by a 7 for $125. Their back room was divided by cubicles and it was like walking into an orgy.

Nothing like that today (although I haven’t been there in years) and at one time I think it was even closed.

You've only left out the best strip club to ever exist in the US: Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell Theater

In its golden age, think Spearmint Rhino level hotness (and, in fact, during that time there were Vegas girls flying out to work at MBOT, first time I ever saw the migration in that direction), coupled with full availability of extras ... although at prices that were hefty but affordable for the time. Multiple rooms and shows going on at the same time, fully nude club and girls sometimes coming off stage and walking around nude, etc.

I second Memphis Platinum Plus and Seductions in Niagara Falls.

Scores in NYC is the only one I don't agree with...I just found it too robotic and vanilla.

^^^^ I should add, fully private curtained off booths if that's what you wanted, but you could also sit in on a show where the action was more public

I would add baby dolls, a formerly great club that has now been largely ruined by Cuban strippers. And M Bros definitely goes on the list even though it’s a total shit hole today.

Another SF club, Condor Club, probably deserves at least a footnoted mention on this list, for being the first modern topless bar, and arguably the progenitor for all modern strip clubs

There is always a golden age going on somewhere. You just have to hunt it down and experience its fleeting glory.

In Providence, RI, Club Fantasies used to be a really fantastic club. Now it's like the first strip club to open after the zombie apocalypse. I hear that they renovated the interior, but the dancers are still a sad, desperate lot.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Warrior15 is looking for "legendary" -- I think lots of clubs were super fun and might have had little golden ages, but even outside of the area, I've heard of clubs like Mons (even if that was a perennial runner-up to MBOT :), Follies, etc... those are more of what i think of as legendary. Some of the others, I wonder if they were just really great local clubs for a while

This thread is true and although I only monger in my home area, clubs get hot then cold, one of my favorite ones now is Solid Gold, I have never been a fan of Diamond Dolls, but remember this it just takes one great gal to make your visit legendary even in a meh club.

Mons and Follies are definitely legendary. The Bourbon Street clubs in New Orleans were legendary as a whole, but without any single standout. I don't know if they ever lived up to the hype, though, it certainly was not this millenium.

Subraman -- some of the clubs listed, one needs to go back 25 or 30 years. In the mid 80's through the dot com crash most mid to high end clubs were fun, but the ones listed were extra fun -- just my opinion. It was a different era a SCs.... lots of folks flush with cash, end of the cold war and a generally happy country with a balls to the wall party mentality.

+ 10 to those above who mentioned the old PP in Memphis. I know a dancer who has been a nomad ever since December '06 when the Feds raided it and padlocked the doors .

Surprised that no one has mentioned The Gold Club in Atlanta . What a club before the FBI raided it too.

What about Hawaii Theatre in Southern California? I've never even been there but heard stories of it. Ridiculous mileage from actual porn stars, or so they said. Long gone but from the previous posts, definitely not forgotten.

Harmony in NYC. On ass-c back in the 90s, a cohort of PLs was always whining about how nothing would ever be as good. PLs never change.

ISH's post on club fantasies is correct. In the early 2000's the club, which is huge, was packed every minute it was open. Almost impossible to ge ta seat when the dancers were doing Rhode island's famous "dollar dances". Laps were $10.00. It was amazing, but the Father retired rto Florida and left the half-wit son in charge and now it is like a ghost town and if you combined the attendance totals for last week, the same total number of people would have been found there at 1 pm on a Tuesday in 2005.

I forgot to add... one of the reasons clubs were different years ago is most companies allowed you expense your "business meeting / entertainment" to a reasonable degree. The company pick up the cover, some client entertainment and beverages, sure made the dollar go further.. Cannot remember the last time I saw a business meeting in a SC.

Hawaii Theater was epic. More mileage than any other COI club at the time.

Also, my favorite of all time was Fritz in Bellflower, Ca. So many great nights there.

Atlanta's Gold Club drew a nationwide crowd of celebrities. It was the Studio 54 of strip clubs. The best rooms often were occupied with A and B listers fucking 10's.

+1 Mitchell Bros - got to see it in its 'just starting to decline state' and it was amazing.

As far as Rhino in Vegas, when they first remodeled this club was heaven for a minute... but it had nothing on the now closed Crazy Horse 2.

The first couple of times I travelled to Miami, I thought there’s not a club around better than Tootsie’s. Last couple of trips? Couldn’t wait to get out of there. Quality went WAY down the last few years. Also, I re-iterate poster above about OG-Vegas. Pound for pound that was really the best club in town.

Clairmont Lounge, Atlanta. I don’t know what it was like in it’s heyday, but it’s been a dive since the late 70s, and has recently become legendary for being the quintessential dive.

+1 on Clairmont Lounge. It is so bad it became a hipster celebrity destination. There are dancers there that have been there since the 80's.

I'll +1 on OGs sort of. Best layout of any SC I've ever been in. Gals were slightly hotter at the Horse but same thing basically. This was when Spearmint was a locals dive before their first remodel. Once they remodeled they fucked everything up.
