I'm gonna say yes, mostly. On a related note, I noticed when I lived in the UK in the 90s that "Asian" there almost always meant "South Asian", i.e. Pakistani, Indian, and Bangladeshi, because those former British colonies are the source of the vast majority of Britain's Asians. In the US, "Asian" usually means "East Asian" because the vast majority of our Asians come from China, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines, so much so that many Americans don't think of Arabs and Persians as Asians -- but they are!
It's funny, when I hang out with Taiwanese people one day and Saudis the next, as sometimes happens, I remind both groups that they are all technically Asian. They don't like being lumped together because, truth be told, East Asians and West Asians don't like each other very much.
Conclusions:
- "Asian" is not very descriptive of peoples ranging from Arabs to Tamils to Hmong, so a more specific question would be better, like "East Asian women?" or even "Oriental women?" I understand that the term Oriental is now taboo in our politically correct times, though I don't know why.
- I consider East Asian women among my very favorite kinds, along with white women, black women, and HIspanic women. If I ever manage to get dances from Arab or South Asian women, I will add them to the rankings :)
