Lots and lots of clubs I go to have owner placed cams to monitor activity in the private or semiprivate LD areas... anyone know of cases where those images have be published.. or used by owners or dancers to blackmail or extort us PL's??
@rickdugan - In a new club with unfamiliar dancers I'd be wary of cameras too.
In a club I have visited for years with known dancers in a private VIP, NOT worried. Cameras, per se, aren't the concern; it's who's watching the monitors and what do they ignore.

I don't know that any of it was "published" but I've seen some of the pictures/videos, they were in the wild and probably still are. I don't know of any PL's being blackmailed or the like as a result though.
In the second article, I found it amusing that in the public hearing where the city agreed to settle the matter out of court ". . . that only three members of the public were in attendance at the commission meeting."
It sounds as if only the city council cared about this matter, and that the citizes didn't.
What about the recent bust of the strippers in Scores NY where the Dancers would lure PL to the club and take pics of them. I think one of the managers was in on it. Not sure if they used the club video though. Always a concern.
I can understand the fear of camera footage being used by LE, but to think that a club would use it to blackmail someone or post it online is ridiculous.

Not to my knowledge.
Here's a link to a discussion of cameras by the stripclubhound, a former manager.

An important distinction he makes is whether CCTV is hooked up to recorders or not.
