Yeah, but Fantasies appears to have exceeded Desires in cost. Maybe those that frequent those places more than me, and are shopping for more than me, can chime in.

Recent reports on Millennium Cabaret in NH are that they moved to $40 for 1, 3/100 and $240 for 15 minutes. I was there over the summer on a week night and they only had 2 other customers. That was before they raised prices. The last time I was there on a weekend night, it was no where near capacity and most of the girls were idle.
They are also the only topless only club in the region, and priced way above The Club, which is just down the road and the various North Shore clubs. Unless their business model is selling something other than drinks and dances, I just don't see how they will survive, but then again, I'm not managing it.
Down in Providence, Fantasies seems to have priced itself way above Desire, Foxy, and Dolls (to say nothing of Boardroom, which is a lot closer to Boston). One summer weekend afternoon I went from Foxy which had 10 dancers and 15ish customers, to Fantasy with 1 dancers and 4 customers, to Desire which was packed.
I understand why Centerfolds can get away with crazy high prices because it is one of only two clubs actually in Boston. (The other one is cheaper but very very small), but I don't understand how Fantasies, Millennium, and Caddy pull in customers.

I would love to hear sea shanties in a club. And actually, polka would be ok because so many dancers match their movements to the song to keep themselves entertained.

So deals out west can be found. I just kept saying "less" in a (mostly Spanish speaking) Denver club and the dancer eventually dropped her price to $20.
There is also anecdotes that very-expensive Portland prices are showing signs of downward price flexibility.
I think the bigger point that it is too expensive to buy trial dances is spot on, and ultimately bad for dancers. At $40 or 3/100 her looks have to be spot on and the conversation has to be good. I still like going to clubs out West, but I'm much more willing to save my money and not buy any dances at all than I am when visiting a better priced club.
To contrast, there is a club in MA where one-way contact dances are $20, but two way contact in a private room starts at $150/15 (basically the standard regional rate). The way I play that club is test dance anything remotely cute and then immediately buy an extended room if the dance first dance is good.

I've heard Enya at Mary's in Portland. That isn't the reason, but I recommend avoiding Mary's.

^ probably a good read on the situation. Local governments are becoming increasingly creative in finding ways to harass clubs.
^^ Yeah, but clubs can fuck that up by disincentivizing dancers.

Denver is not being overrun by violent gangs. It's a very pleasant city.

Upstairs has very good privacy and more comfortable furniture than Desire's main floor VIP. I can't comment on Lust.

Re the place in colebrook: I've read the facebook page and would love to visit Colebrook, but it isn't exactly convenient.. I think it is expensive because they sometimes bring in dancers from CT/MA/NY, and getting them all the way up there isn't cheap
Re the travesty: I assume you are talking about Millenium Cabaret rather than "The Club" a few miles south?

Can you elaborate on the difference w/ Chicas Bonitas? Are you saying they don't have private rooms, aren't nude, or don't do lap dances?

I'm completely confident that having muted fox news on the TV without subtitles is not a selling point of this club. It isn't a case of them knowing best, but a case of some manager or bartender just putting it on to suit their own tastes. Knowing the region's population, I suspect that its largely a minor annoyance to most patrons, and perhaps a minor benefit to a few. I can't imagine it has anything more than an extremely marginal impact on their business, and I'd wager if there is a tiny impact that it is slightly negative.
I also doubt that it impacts dancers in appreciable way--I suspect that they are able to tune it out quite easily. However, we can be sure that if there is an effect on dancers it is negative. Generally speaking, I want more hot dancers working at a club, and I want them in a good mood.
Back to @loper's original post, I wouldn't want to be in an expensive VIP with a dancer and see anything on TV, let alone TV news. I really wouldn't want the distraction.

@drewcareypnw -- yes. Quebec at least.
@shailynn -- I think you are discounting the other uses in reviews. I realize that a lot of users of this site are only interested in info on extras, but not all of us. When I am researching clubs, the two things I'm looking for are does this club have girls that fit my taste, and how much are lap dances, vip, and cover?
I'm also looking at info on ID scans, what languages the dancers speak, club culture, etc.

I agree with above posters that the toxic politics on this site are off putting, and probably even more so for posters that aren't USA based.
It is also a matter of momentum, if TUSCL were a good resource for European clubs, more people would use it and provide their own reviews.
I do wonder why we don't have better coverage of Canada and Mexico outside of TJ.

@Ibbanalci, putting fox on the TV is bringing exactly my zero customers into the club.
I'd rather they kept the main area on TVs sports *, but they definitely shouldn't have politics on in the vip rooms.
* Exceptions for times like Jan 6th, in etc

The lineup at my favorite club is better now than it was a year ago, and the club experience is still really good.
On the other extreme, I'm dropping a club from my rotation due to price huge increase. That particular club looked slow when I was in there, so price increases seem stupid. However, I haven't been visiting on weekend nights.

I think the drinks and cover are still $2 on Tuesday, they just aren't doing the discounted dances. Regardless, I don't see a reason to return here if they are doing $240 / 15 minutes.

So---how can it be a "no touch" club when it is full contact in the common dance room? Second, this place is pay per song ($30) and you have to pay the bar tender. How did you negotiate 10 minutes for $100.
I'm dubious of the authenticity of this review.

They seem to have discontinued the Tuesday dance discounts.
@Lex Luthor. I agree with your assessment of The Club and limited hours. Howevr, I think that it is the obvious choice whenever it is open.
I'd also would prefer Kittens or even Tens to Millennium.

Good Review.
The Club is just down the road over the MA border. It has much better prices: $20 for a one way lapdance or $150 for 15 minutes of two way contact in a private booth.

There are a lot of people on this board who can comment more on what Desire is like on a weekend night, but I'll mention a few things if you are expanding your search to Providence.
There are five clubs in Providence. Desire and Wonderland are close enough you can walk between them. Wonderland is more "urban" and make it rain by reputation, but I've never been.
Fantasies, Foxy Lady, and Cadillac Lounge aren't within walking distance of any other club, but all transit times between them all (and Desire) is low in a motor vehicle.
Cadillac Lounge sucks. Don't go there.
Foxy will have nudity on stage, and is consider the only non-extras club of the group. My last visit to Desire and Fantasies, neither had nudity on stage. You are likely to have more interaction with dancers at Foxy than Desire due to the regualrs nature of Desire.
Fantasies is in decline, but could have a few gems.
