There’s too many countries now that could potentially spread COVID 19 for us to isolate it properly. A major reason why it has spread is because of people not taking it seriously. COVID 19 is somewhere between 25-80 times more deadly than the flu is. The comparisons between the two end at their symptoms. This isn’t Zika or h1n1. This is the real deal. Unfortunately it seems people have gotten complacent and over confident in regards to diseases because it’s been so long since we suffered from an epidemic like this. It’s worth reminding everyone that the CCP is not releasing accurate numbers. The numbers are likely at least 10x as high as they are reporting. Crematoriums in Wuhan have been getting overwhelmed with bodies as they are working 24/7 for weeks to burn them all. The numbers Iran is reporting are likely not accurate either as their own mayor in Qoms criticized the central government for covering up close to 50 deaths.

This is why I don't like humans. They get so caught up in stupid notions that they can't look at things logically. I feel like I have to speak a different language to talk to you guys sometimes. But humans moralize thought patterns and beliefs instead of actions, which is unbelievably stupid. They think morals comes from what your brain thinks and wants instead of the things you actually do that have an impact on the world. People get mad because they have a tribalistic perspective towards humanity and want to think humankind is special and if I say artificial intelligence can easily replace and be better than a human, they get insecure. Humans are another sentient life form existing in the universe to me. That's it. I don't think there's anything special or wonderful about humans.

It’s probably true that guys into waifu culture are more likely to be right wing as I’ve noticed that guys who get frustrated from constant rejection by women are much more likely to become right wingers. At least among younger generations. I’m starting to notice that what older generations think the personalities of right wingers and left wingers are is very different from how the younger generation is viewing it. I don’t think that 60 year old right wingers have much in common with 20 year old right wingers unless it’s a kid who just parrots their family’s beliefs. Waifu culture is seeking an alternative to women. I would not say the whole thing is just a joke on them though. Guys into waifu culture are legitimately seeking a partner, they just aren’t looking for one among human women.

@CJKent I can believe that the normalization or expectation of romantic love is socially constructed. However, I wouldn't say the feeling itself is. I'm sure that there's been times before the high middle ages when people "fell in love" but that the people around them simply thought of these individuals as obsessive and lustful. A Roman senator sometime around the era of Julius Caesar was fired from his job after he was seen kissing his wife in public. The idea behind this was essentially that a man who is "in love" with his wife was unfit to be in a position of power as they thought being obsessed with your wife was the equivalent of losing control over her. It appears by the Shakespearean era, love had become a very normal part of social relationships however. The enlightenment era of the 18th century might have caused some people to look at it again with more of a rationalist perspective but I think that would've turned around again during the Romanticism of the 19th century. I'd actually argue we are in the midst of a "cultural de-emphasis" of love at this current moment. Lots of people these days are advocating that we should be putting work and career above love and marriage, and others are claiming that love and marriage is socially restrictive. I do not see these changes as being good in the long run for people's quality of life. I think it is likely a major factor in what is causing the current sexual recession.

Love is a combination of sexual attraction + strong bursts of oxytocin. Both are very powerful forces and create of quagmire of intense feelings. So its not an artificial concept. The word "love" is just the manifestation of those feelings. I guarantee you it existed before a word/term was made for it though.
