Yeah I wasn't assuming that a bartender in a typical strip club would make a lot of fancy drinks with umbrellas, lol. Sounds like the "keep it to 2 ingredients" rule makes sense. If there is an odd taste then you know what ingredient to avoid on the next order.

chessmaster, yeah strippers look fine with glasses. It's like a vestige of the burlesque era when they wore costumes. You could be getting a dance from that receptionist at the doctor's office or bank teller, LOL. The last girl with glasses I bought dances from was very "grabby" and had been dancing for about a year and a half. I got the impression it was an outlet for her from a nerdier outside life.

To the OP: Seriously, you've been "friend-zoned" and you're just putting salt on the wounds to keep talking to her. I think most of the PLs here have been there... got to know a woman, wanted to date her, she is "not ready" and then one day she mentions her new relationship with someone else.
The best way to get your mind off a woman is put other women in front of you. Quit talking to her. If she actually gives a squat about you, let her be the one to call you and check up on you. 99% chance she never will.

I can think of 2 times that strippers told me that money had slipped out of my pockets onto the floor during a dance. Another time my wallet was missing, and she searched the couch crevasses of the VIP room to find it, and returned it to me without taking anything. Sure, some are hard asses who look down on customers, and I have been quoted a dance $5 above the posted price - but I think most understand that we work for our money too, and are not looking to outright fleece us.

Follies sounds kind of intense for a first-timer... crowded, smoky, somewhat aggressive women. I'd advise spending that first $500 in a couple of nicer clubs first. You can have a good time in two for $250 each. Or if one experience isn't what you expected, at least you have a backup plan.

Last night a dancer told me that she liked older men... Of course that sounds like SS, but she wasn't dishing out lots of other ego strokers... The OP said contacts are not an option... But clubbing is the principal use I get for mine. I had to whine a bit with my optometrist to get a weak prescription for indoor use. They always want to set you for far distance to drive with.

JAprufrock, that decision veers into the strippers-vs-escort value proposition, and there are many threads about that... Sure, if I simply wanted sex, I could have found that already, and for less money.
Some guys like the roulette wheel of clubbing, experiencing a variety of women - their shapes and techniques. Being free to let your inner animal free by ogling one on the stage, looking her in the eye and seeing her grin back at you too, because she knows what you are thinking, and she'll come by your table later.
Even lame dances can be fun - telling that inexperienced new dancer that she should get closer to the customers to make money. You are free to be that lecherous middle age dude that her daddy warned her about!

I get your point about have the best of both. The problem is women are so flaky and unreliable anyway that I may just shrug and assume I won't date anymore. I'm 49 and never married, over 6 feet tall and 195 pounds. Most single women even in their 30s are divorced with kids, overweight, come with so much mental baggage. It's hard to settle for that even "for free" when I can fondle and grind a woman in a club who is better looking and asks "are you a tits or ass man?"

I used to think the ladies received suck-up comments from guys all night long. But when I tell one that she smells nice or that I like how she set her hair, sometimes I'm told that it is the first compliment she's received. Apparently many guys in the club can be unappreciative, uncommunicative dorks.

Sitting at the bar reduces dancer pressure and I usually go there on my first visit to a club. Bold ladies are always watching for fresh prey though, and you may still need to decline dances as you settle in. Subsequent visits I will sit in a chair.

Lulz. Yeah part of what got me into clubbing was asking myself to obtain some value out of the earlier experience. I did lose 30 pounds getting ready for the introductions. Oh well, at least I found the motivation now, to get out there and have some fun. There are more expensive hobbies like mountain climbing all over the world, owning a boat for deep sea fishing, or whatever. Ultimately life becomes a series of memories when you are stuck in a wheelchair in your 90s. It's my money to spend while I can enjoy it!

Customers could be the only financially stable people that a stripper encounters. All her old high school friends ended up in hourly jobs, or became sugar babies, or addicts, other disappointing outcomes. There is a subtle fascination how anyone can become a professional, because she did not witness it happen among her circle, or her family.
