What was the SC scene like back in the day?
@Subraman, The 1st club you reference is I'm guessing OFarrell Bros. But the other 2 you referenced: (2) like Follies . . . high volume 5s, 6s, 7s, and an occasional 8, very low prices for extras, curtained off private booths, and (3) other club that was often 50%-75% Asian girls, again extras and booths - which were those 2? And was that #2 Market Street Cinema perhaps?

    Corona welfare is on steroids???
@blahblah, if you’re an independent contractor, consider getting yourself some of that PPP money but apply quick cuz it’s gonna dry out (again) soon. That may go against the grain of your feelings as expressed in this post, but the $ is there and as IC you’re eligible, might as well get some - others sure are

    OTC with dancers during pandemic
—>@pbateman: plus I have to pay for parking, admission, bartab, food occasionally, etc. I always spend 4-5 roses minimum whenever I go to the club and get off twice in the night. If you’re dropping $400 to $500 per visit and you’re a semi regular (a few times a month) then you’re a decently high value customer - get to know the floor manager and a bartender = no cover and occasional free cocktails, that’ll reduce your outlay a bit. And congrats on the pandemically induced OTC adventures - sounds great

—>America is becoming very similar to communist Russia lately. Except for dictatorship, secret police, show trials, and gulag labor camps. But corruption shortages of goods in stores (though pandemic related), yes.

Judge Clears Paycheck Protection Loans for Wisconsin Strip Clubs
This ruling seems right. When the Cares Act was announced, I had read (probably here on tuscl) that strip clubs and other businesses of "prurient sexual nature" would be barred from getting PPP and other Cares Act funds. I then pulled up the Cares Act legislation (it's 335 pages long) and did word searches for "prurient" and "sex" and similar words and there is nothing in the legislation on that, and it was SBA imposing that limitation and not congress. For strip clubs that get PPP money, I wish much of it would go to dancers and not just to bartenders, bouncers, managers, highly compensated executives etc, - but it won't and here's why: At least 75% of PPP funds must be used for "payroll costs." The legislation defines payroll costs as "payments of any compensation in respect to EMPLOYEES." That means all dancers that are ICs won't see a dime of PPP money the clubs get. In California most dancers are now employees but will the Deja Vu clubs in Cali give any of that $ to dancers? - Ya right. Those employee dancers are getting Calif unemployment benefits but I wish my faves could get them some PPP $ too. I fucking love dancers, especially my faves - their prurience is "essential" to me, haha

    Freedoms you've given up
-->@gammanu: "We should . . . adopt a balanced fucking budget that won't require us to sell bonds to foreign governments." Amen, brother. Balance the fucking budget. IMO, deficit spending is ridiculous and unjustifiable except in times of true emergency (Great Depression, WWII) despite the contrary positions of Keynesian economists. USA's national debt of $27+ Trillion and climbing is not sustainable.

OMG stripclubs might be done 😱
Strip clubs might be done? I am not done with strip clubs. I like hot chicks and their bare boobies. But if masks were required by either dancers or customers, I would not go. If no masks, then I'd go to drink and watch and tip even if dances and rooms not available - not gonna get any socially distanced air dances though.

If you could go back in time what university would you like to go to?
-->@JamesSD: "If I had it to do over I would pay more money to live in some shitty place walking distance to the bars and Pacific Beach. PB is amazing for eye candy both local and tourists. I didn't realize that my 20s really were the time in my life where I could live in a crummy room with a great location." ^Correct on all counts. For 2 years in my 20s and in the 1990s, I lived in a bungalow less than a block from the PB pier. Tons of fun and rent was cheap. Our 2 regular bars were Cass Street Bar & Grill in PB (a short walk) and also a few dive bars in Mission Beach we'd ride bikes to on the Boardwalk to avoid driving home drunk - primarily a bar I think is now renamed Sandbar and occasionally what is still the Beachcomber.

From personal experience, I can second what Jascoi (former MisterWonderful) is saying about the big universities in San Diego, especially San Diego State and the Catholic school Univ of San Diego. The level of hotness at both was top notch. Univ of San Diego was packed with hot blonde Caucasian high maintenance Catholic girls driving convertible BMWs supplied by their wealthy parents. UC San Diego, not so much - it had higher academic admissions standards, and the increased brain capacity was accompanied by a corresponding drop in hotness measured over the general female population - it's science (or at least was objectively provable in the 1990s).
